■Circling calibration
Stop the vehicle in a place where it is safe to drive in a circle.
Press and hold “AUTO” for 9
seconds.

km/h) or less in a circle until a

drive in a circle, drive around the

■Conditions unfavorable for correct operation
The compass may not show the correct direction in the following situations:
●The vehicle is stopped immediately after turning.
●The vehicle is on an inclined surface.
●The vehicle is in a place where the earth's magnetic field is subject to
interference by artificial magnetic fields (underground car park/parking
lot, under a steel tower, between buildings, roof car park/parking lot, near
an intersection, near a large vehicle, etc.).
●The vehicle has become magnetized.
(There is a magnet or metal object near the anti-glare inside rear view
mirror.)
●The battery has been disconnected.
●A door is open.

Cleaning and protecting the vehicle exterior
■Automatic car washes
●Before washing the vehicle, do the following.
• Fold the mirrors back.
• Remove the antenna.
●Brushes used in automatic car washes may scratch the vehicle surface
and harm your vehicle's paint.
■High pressure car washes
●Do not allow the nozzles of the car wash to come within close proximity
of the windows.
●Before car wash, check that the fuel filler door on your vehicle is closed
properly.
■Aluminum wheels
Remove any dirt immediately by using a neutral detergent. Do not use hard
brushes or abrasive cleaners. Do not use strong or harsh chemical cleaners.
Use the same mild detergent and wax as used on the paint.
■Bumpers
Do not scrub with abrasive cleaners.
Perform the following to protect the vehicle and maintain it in prime
condition.
●Working from top to bottom, liberally apply water to the vehicle
body, wheel wells and underside of the vehicle to remove any
dirt and dust.
Wash the vehicle body using a sponge or soft cloth, such as a
chamois.
●For hard-to-remove marks, use car wash soap and rinse thor-
oughly with water.
●Wipe away any water.
●Wax the vehicle when the waterproof coating deteriorates.
If water does not bead on a clean surface, apply wax when the vehicle
body is cool.

Left side
Remove the cover.
Right side (type A)
Remove the cover using the flat-
head screwdriver.
To protect the cover, place a rag
between the flathead screwdriver
and the cover.

■License plate lights
Open the back door and remove
the cover.
To protect the cover, place a rag
between the flathead screwdriver
and the cover, as shown in the
illustration.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Remove the light bulb.
■LED high mounted stoplight
The high mounted stoplight consists of a number of LEDs. If any of
the LEDs burn out, take your vehicle to your Toyota dealer to have
the light replaced.
