4Service typeLongLife service or service dependent on time/distance tr avelled?Depending on your vehicle's technical characteristics either the LongLife
service or the service dependent on time/dista nce travelled will apply. If you
do not wish to have the LongLife service you can choose the service
dependent on time/distance travelled. You r Official SEAT Service has the
most recent information about the servic es and can advise you on the best type of service for your vehicle, and if th
ere are any additional inspections it
requires by law. In the following pages we h ave compiled the most important
information about the services offered. These s ervices are valid at the time of
printing and can be subject to further mod ifications for technical reasons.
Note
If LongLife oil is not used, the service depe ndent on time/distance travelled
is applied, and the oil must be changed e very 15,000 km (10,000 miles) or
every year. How to know which type of service your
vehicle requires
LongLife service: Service dependent on time/distance travelled:
- Your vehicle has LongLife Service if the PR No. “QG1 ” appears on the vehicle
data carrier (see back) and on ⇒page 5, the LongLife Service is marked
with a cross. - Your vehicle has service dependent on t
ime/distance travelled if the PR
number “ QG0 or QG2 ” (see back) appears on the vehicle data carrier and if
on ⇒page 5 the Oil Change Service is marked with a cross.
- The Interval Service appears on the “Next Ser vices” sticker (on the door pil-
lar). - The Oil Change Service appears on the “
Next Services” sticker (on the door
pillar).
- The LongLife Service is marked with a cross on ⇒page 5. - The service dependent on time/dista nce travelled is marked with a cross on
⇒ page 5.
SEAT distinguishes between services with engine oil change (e.g. Interval Service ) and services without engine oil change (e.g. Inspection Service).
The service interval display only indicates the dates of services that include engine oil change. The dates of all other services, such as Inspection Service or
brake fluid change, appear in the sticker on the door pillar.

If diesel with a high sulphur content is used, the fuel filter and the oil should
be changed every 7,500 km (5,000 miles) ⇒ page 8. Your Official SEAT

Before delivery, your vehicle was inspected a ccording to factory guidelines.
This ensures that driving will be a pleasure from the very beginning.
The agent will provide you with the following in formation when the vehicle is
delivered:•Running-in
•Changing the brake fluid•Service intervals, in particular information on what constitutes severe
operating conditions ⇒page 7Note
•Using diesel fuel with a high sulphur conten t may significantly reduce the
useful life of the diesel particulate filter.

SEAT maintenance programmeService intervalsGeneral informationTo ensure that you have each service carrie d out on time and that none are
forgotten, there is a reminder sticker on the dr iver side door pillar and a
reminder will also be shown via the serv ice interval display on the instrument
panel.
The service intervals quoted are for vehicles used under normal operating
conditions .
However, if the vehicle is used in adverse conditions, it may require work
before the next established service int erval or even between service inter-
vals.
Adverse conditions include:•the use of fuel with a high sulphur content•frequent short journeys•leaving the engine idling for long periods o f time (as occurs with taxis)•driving on dusty roads or in dusty areas•frequently using the vehicle for towing•mainly driving in the city, in heavy traffic whe re it is necessary to continu-
ously brake and start, and•using the vehicle mainly in the winter
This particularly affects:•the air filter
•the timing belt•the engine oil and•the diesel particulate filter
In some countries diesel fuel has a high sulp hur content; in these cases the
fuel filter and the oil should be changed every 7 ,500 km (5,000 miles)
⇒ page 8. Your Official SEAT Service will b e able to tell you which countries
have diesel with a high sulphur content.
The service advisor at your Official SEAT Ser vice will advise you on the need
to carry out additional work on your vehicle, t aking into account the usage
conditions of the vehicle.
A list of the work to be carried out at the SEAT services is given on the
following pages. These services are valid at the time of printing and can be
subject to further modifications for technical reaso ns. Your Official SEAT
Service always has the latest available in formation and will be able to tell
you if your vehicle requires any other additio nal inspections established by
law.
The cost of the SEAT service may vary, depen ding on the vehicle type, equip-
ment fitted, additional work and statutor y inspections. Your Official SEAT
Service will tell you how much the SEAT serv ice will cost (labour and parts).

In ⇒ page 9, “General Service Programme” you wil l find the work corre-
sponding to each service.
LongLife Service
Thanks to the technology used at SEAT, with the LongLife Service, an Interval
Service only has to be carried out when it is necessary.
The length of the service intervals is also deter mined by factors such as
conditions under which the vehicle is used and personal driving style.
If LongLife engine oil is not used, the service depende nt on time/distance
travelled then applies . In this case, an oil change service will have to be carried out every 15,000 km (10,000 miles)
or every year. This also applies
if you reprogramme the vehicle to the ser vice dependent on time/distance
travelled
Note
In addition to the Inspection and Interval Se rvices, additional work should be
carried out according to the time/distance trav elled ⇒page 11.

10Inspection ServiceOperations to be performed on your vehicl e:•The exhaust system is checked for leaks, da mage and secure fitting•ATF in the automatic gearbox: check and top up as required.•Check the battery.•Check the depth of the tyre tread (incl. the spare wheel), that tread wear
is even, check the age and pressure of th e tyres. Where applicable, adjust the
tyre pressure monitor.•Check brake system and dampers for leaks a nd damage.•Check the sunroof (where applicable) operates correctly and if necessary

•It may be more convenient, taking the individual usage conditions of your
vehicle into account, to have certain scop es of the interval service inspection
done earlier or at a later, separate date. The se rvice advisor at your Official
SEAT Service will advise you accordingly .•The engine type determines toothed belt re placement intervals. For more

14Other services availableLegal Inspection ServiceThe legal inspections must be carried out at the interval s
prescribed.Many countries have legal requirements ob liging owners to have their vehicle
tested at specified intervals for safety for the user and for other traffic, as well
as ensuring that vehicle exhaust emissions meet the countries' regulations.
These revisions must be overseen by officially certified centres.
Your Technical Service can inform you abou t the inspections required by law,
and can check your vehicle in the course of an Inspection Service. This will
save you both time and money.
The Technical Service can also carry out the inspections required by law at the
client's request.
Even if you do not wish to take advanta ge of this service and decide to take
your car to an officially certified centre for this c heck, we recommend that you
speak to the manager of your Technica l Service first.
This person will be able to inform you of any p oints that require attention so
that your car does not fail the test and ha ve to be re-tested.Approved spare partsAll parts of your vehicle have been approve d by SEAT, especially those parts
on which your safety depends. For this reason , the parts used in the
Programmed Inspection Services or in an y vehicle repair must correspond
exactly to the manufacturer-defined requiremen ts. The approved SEAT spare parts have been designed especially for you
r vehicle. For this reason, we
recommend that Genuine approved SEAT spar es are always used.
In the Authorised SEAT Service Centres you wil l find the most important
approved spare parts. If in an exceptional case, the necessary parts are not in
stock, they can, in general, be obtained s wiftly.
The SEAT Service Centres in the EU provide a 24 mon th warranty

Approved Spare parts from the date they are fi tted or sold. It is therefore
advisable to retain the original invoice from th e Technical Service as proof of
the existing warranty.

Approved SEAT exchange partsThe approved SEAT exchange parts, conforming to the manufacturer’s
requirements, constitute an additional service at your disposal, offering you
the possibility to replace entire assemblie s, the most common being: the
lightened engine, gearboxes, cylinder head s, control units, electrical
elements, etc.
Of course these are Approved parts and, as they have the same class as the
manufacturer parts, they share the same S EAT approved spare parts warranty.
However, these parts are considerably cheap er as they are factory-recondi-
tioned used parts. Keep the invoice for the approved SEAT exchange parts as
proof of the start of the existing warranty.3)The warranty is not available for all e xport markets. For more information, ple ase ask
your Authorised SEAT Service Centre.
