FUEL GAUGE COOLANT TEMPERATURE
The needle is positioned before the
red zone: normal operation.
In arduous conditions of use or hot
climatic conditions, the needle may
move close to the red graduations.
What you should do if the needle
enters the red zone:
Reduce your speed or let the engine
run at idle.
What you should do if the warning
light comes on:
- stop immediately, switch off the ignition. The fan may continue to
operate for a certain time up to
a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 0 m i n u t e s .
- wait for the engine to cool down in order to check the coolant level and
top it up if necessary.
As the cooling system is pressurised,
follow this advice in order to avoid any
risk of scalding:
- wait at least one hour after switching off the engine before
carrying out any work,
- unscrew the cap by 1/4 turn to allow the pressure to drop,
- when the pressure has dropped, c h e c k t h e l e v e l o n t h e e x p a n s i o n
bottle,
- if necessary, remove the cap to top up.
If the needle remains in the red
zone, have the system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Refer to the "Levels" section of
chapter 6.
Refer to the "Fuel" section of
chapter 6.
The fuel level is tested each time the
key is turned to the "running" position.
The gauge is positioned on:
-
1: the fuel tank is full,

GEARBOX
5-speed - reverse gear gearbox
To change gear easily, always press
the clutch pedal fully.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedal:
- e n s u r e t h a t t h e m a t a n d i t s fi x i n g s o n t h e fl o o r a r e p o s i t i o n e d c o r r e c t l y ,
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f a n o t h e r .
When driving, avoid leaving your hand
o n t h e g e a r k n o b a s t h e f o r c e e x e r t e d ,
even if slight, may wear the internal
c o m p o n e n t s o f t h e g e a r b o x o v e r t i m e . To engage reverse gear, wait until the
vehicle is stationary then push the gear
lever to the right then down.
The lever should be moved slowly
to reduce the noise on engaging
reverse gear.
This equipment will become available
during the year.
GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR
In order to drive as fuel
e f fi c i e n t l y a s p o s s i b l e w i t h a
m a n u a l g e a r b o x , t h i s i n d i c a t o r
lamp indicates to the driver to
change up.
The driver remains responsible
for deciding whether or not to follow
this indication, since the indicator lamp
comes on without taking into account
t h e c o n fi g u r a t i o n o f t h e r o a d , t h e
a m o u n t o f t r a f fi c a n d s a f e t y f a c t o r s .
The lighting of this indicator lamp
cannot be deactivated.
When reverse gear is engaged
and when changing down whilst
decelerating, the function is disabled.

This equipment allows you to manoeuvre
in most conditions of poor grip. Correct use
Your vehicle is designed principally to
drive on tarmacked roads but it allows
you to drive on other less passable
terrain occasionally.
However, it does not permit all-terrain
a c t i v i t i e s s u c h a s :
- crossing and driving on terrain which
could damage the underframe or
s t r i p a w a y c o m p o n e n t s ( f u e l p i p e ,
fuel cooler, ...) due to obstacles or
stones in particular,
- driving on terrain with steep gradients and poor grip,
- crossing a stream.

You then have approximately 8 litres
of fuel remaining. Fill up without delay
to avoid running out of fuel.

W h e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r c a p i s o p e n e d ,
there may be a slight air suction noise.
This vacuum is entirely normal and is
due to the sealing of the fuel circuit.
W h e n fi l l i n g t h e f u e l t a n k , d o n o t
c o n t i n u e a f t e r t h e 3 r d c u t - o f f o f t h e
nozzle. This could cause malfunctions.
