FUEL TANK
The capacity of the tank is approxi-
mately 67 litres. When the low fuel level is
reached, this warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
panel, accompanied by an au-
dible signal and a message on the mul-
t i f u n c t i o n s c r e e n . W h e n i t fi r s t c o m e s
on, about 6 litres of fuel remains in
the tank.
If you run completely out of fuel
(Diesel), refer also to the "Checks"
section.
A l a b e l fi t t e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e f u e l
fi l l e r fl a p i n d i c a t e s w h i c h t y p e o f f u e l
to use.
Additions of fuel must be of at least
5 litres to be taken into account by the
fuel gauge.
O p e n i n g t h e f u e l fi l l e r m a y p r o d u c e t h e
noise of an inrush of air. This vacuum
is entirely normal and results from the
sealing of the fuel system.
Low fuel warning
To refuel in complete safety:
you must switch off the engine,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p .
turn the cap to the left.
remove the cap and hang the end
on the hook located on the inside
o f t h e fl a p .
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue
after the third cut-off of the noz-
zle ; this may cause malfunctions.

c l o s e t h e fl a p .
Operating fault
A fuel gauge fault is indicated by the
fuel guage needle returning to zero.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

LIGHTING CONTROL STALK
Lighting on
With the ignition off, on opening the
driver's door an audible signal indi-
cates that you have left the lighting on
when leaving the vehicle.
Switch the lighting off. Direction indicators

Pull the stalk fully towards you. Front and rear foglamps (ring B)
Turn ring B forwards to switch on
and rearwards to switch off. The

Disarming the front
passenger's front air bag * Reactivation
As soon as the child seat is removed,
turn the air bag slot to the
"ON" position
to re-activate the air bag and thus ensure
its safety function.
To ensure the safety of your child, it
is essential to disarm the passenger
air bag when you install a rear-facing
child seat on the front passenger seat.
Otherwise, the child would risk being
seriously injured or killed if the air bag
w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
With the ignition switched off
,
insert the key into the passenger air
bag disarming switch, turn it to the
"OFF" position, then remove the key
keeping the slot in this position. The knee airbag protects the driver's
knees in the event of a serious front
impact.

In the event of a malfunction

It is deployed at the same time as the
front airbags.
Instrument panel warning lamp.
If this warning lamp comes on, ac-

contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked. The airbags may
no longer be deployed in the event of
a serious impact. Knee airbag

of disarming.

of an impact.

Gear selection gate
Move the lever in the gate to select
a position.
The indicator lamp corresponding to the position selected appears on
the instrument panel screen.
P ark: to immobilise the vehicle and
to start the engine, with the parking
brake on.
R everse: to reverse (select this posi-
tion with the vehicle stationary, engine
at idle).
N eutral: to start the engine and to park,
with the parking brake on.
Note: if position N is inadvertently en-
gaged while driving, allow the engine
to return to idle before engaging posi-
tion D then accelerate.
D rive: to drive in automatic mode.
M anual: to drive selecting the gears.
S : sport programme.

The four or six speed automatic gear-
box offers, as required, the comfort
of the auto-adaptive programme en-
hanced by a selection suited to dy-
namic driving conditions: sport, or to
driving on a slippery road: snow.
However, manual selection is still pos-
sible using the gear lever. Moving Off
With the engine running, move off from
position
P :
to exit position P, you have to
press the brake pedal,
select position R , D or M , then
gradually release the pressure on
the brake pedal; the vehicle moves
off immediately.
To move off from position N :
with your foot on the brake, release
the parking brake,
select position R , D or M , then
gradually release the pressure on
the brake pedal; the vehicle moves
off immediately.
Starting the engine
with the parking brake on, select
position P or N in the gate,
turn the ignition key. When the engine is at idle,
brakes not applied, if position
R , D or M is selected, the ve-
hicle moves even without the
accelerator being pressed.
Do not leave children unsupervised
inside the vehicle, with position
R, D or M selected, with the en-
gine running, as the vehicle moves
even without the accelerator being
pressed.
With the ignition off, if the le-
ver is not in position P , an
audible signal is heard when
the driver's door is opened, or
after approximately 45 seconds. Move
the lever to position P . The audible
signal ceases.
When maintenance operations need
to be carried out with the engine run-
ning, apply the parking brake and se-
lect the P ark position.

Press switch 1 , the indi-
cator lamp comes on and
the SPORT warning lamp
comes on.
Press switch 1 again. The
indicator lamp is switched
off and the AUTO indicator
lamp comes on.
To return to automatic operation
In this position, the suspension is
maintained in the
SPORT position.
In the event of a fault , it
comes on, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message
on the multifunction screen.
Select automatic operation and con-
tact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as
possible.

position
The suspension adapts automatically
and instantly to different driving styles
and road characteristics, improving
the comfort of the occupants and the
vehicle's road holding capabilities. The
suspension favours smooth shock ab-
sorption, ensuring a comfortable ride,
but as soon as conditions demand a
change (sporty driving, tight bends,
avoidance action, etc.) it automatically
s e l e c t s fi r m e r s h o c k a b s o r p t i o n , g u a r -
anteeing optimum road holding.
