SEAT BELTS
Detection of fastening of the front
seat belts
When the ignition is switched on , if a
front passenger has not fastened their
seat belt and if the vehicle speed is below
12 mph (20 km/h) , you are warned by
lighting of the seat belt warning lamp .
The warning lamp switches off when the
seat belt(s) concerned is(are) fastened.
If the vehicle speed is above 12 mph
(20 km/h) , y o u a r e w a r n e d b y fl a s h -
ing of the seat belt warning lamp ,
an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction screen identifying the
unfastened seat belt(s).
Front seat belts with
pre-tensioner and force
limiter
In the event of a serious front impact,
the pre-tensioning system instantly
t i g h t e n s t h e s e a t b e l t s fi r m l y a g a i n s t
the bodies of the occupants.
The pre-tensioning seat belts are
armed when the ignition is on.
The force limiter reduces the pressure
of the seat belt against the chest of
the occupant, so increasing his pro-
tection.
Rear seat belts
T h e r e a r s e a t s a r e a l l fi t t e d w i t h a
three-point inertia reel seat belt.
The rear side seat belts have a force
l i m i t e r a n d m a y b e fi t t e d w i t h a p r e -
tensioning inertia reel.
To fasten the seat belts
Pull the strap, then insert the
tongue into the buckle.
Check that the seat belt is secured
correctly by pulling the strap.
To unfasten the seat belts
Press the red button on the buckle. Before folding the seat back, pull the
strap and insert the seat belt tongue
into the buckle. This precaution will
ensure that each seat belt is in place
when the rear seats are lifted again.
Note: a bag or an animal
placed on the front passenger
seat may cause illumination of
the warning lamp.
The audible signal ceases and the
warning lamp switches off when the
seat belt concerned is fastened.
After two minutes without any action
o n t h e s e a t b e l t s , t h e fl a s h i n g w a r n i n g
lamp remains on permanently and the
audible signal ceases. All of the warn-
ings cease when a door is opened or
when the engine is switched off.
Front seat belt height adjustment:
To lower the attachment point,
squeeze control 1 and slide it
downwards.
To raise the attachment point, slide
control 1 upwards.
