All-terrain mode (mud, wet grass, ...)
Mode which, when moving off allows
considerable spin on the wheel with
the least grip to optimise clearing of the
mud and regain grip. At the same time,
the wheel with the most grip is control-
led in such a way as to pass as much
torque as possible.
When moving, the system optimises
wheel spin to respond to the driver’s re-
quirements as fully as possible. Sand mode
Mode which allows little spin on the two
driving wheels at the same time to allow
the vehicle to move forward and limit
the risks of getting stuck in the sand.
Driving advice
Your vehicle is designed princi-
pally to drive on tarmac roads
but it allows you to drive on other less
passable terrain occasionally.
However, it does not permit all-
terrain activities such as:
- crossing and driving on terrain which could damage the under-
frame or strip away components
(fuel pipe, fuel cooler, ...) due to
obstacles or stones in particular,
- driving on terrain with steep gra- dients and poor grip,
- crossing a stream.

W e a r a c o r r e c t l y a d j u s t e d s e a t b e l t .
Do not leave anything between the
occupants and the airbags (a child,
p e t , o b j e c t . . . ) . T h i s c o u l d h a m p e r t h e
o p e r a t i o n o f t h e a i r b a g s o r i n j u r e t h e
occupants.
After an accident or if the vehicle has
been stolen or broken into, have the
airbag systems checked.
All work on the airbag system is strict-
ly forbidden unless it is carried out by
q u a l i fi e d p e r s o n n e l o f t h e P E U G E O T
dealer network.
Even if all of the precautions men-
t i o n e d a r e o b s e r v e d , a r i s k o f i n j u r y
or of minor burns to the head, chest
or arms when an airbag is triggered
c a n n o t b e r u l e d o u t . T h e b a g i n fl a t e s
almost instantly (within a few mil-
l i s e c o n d s ) t h e n d e fl a t e s w i t h i n t h e
same time discharging the hot gas
via openings provided for this pur-
pose. Front airbags
Do not drive holding the steering
wheel by its spokes or resting your
hands on the centre part of the
wheel.
Passengers must not place their feet
on the dashboard.
If possible, do not smoke as deploy-
ment of the airbags can cause burns
o r t h e r i s k o f i n j u r y f r o m a c i g a r e t t e
or pipe.
Never remove or pierce the steering
wheel or hit it violently.
Lateral airbags
Use only approved covers on the seats.

dealer.
D o n o t fi x o r a t t a c h a n y t h i n g t o t h e
seat backs (clothing...). This could
c a u s e i n j u r y t o t h e c h e s t o r a r m s i f
the lateral airbag is triggered.
Do not sit with the upper part of the
body any nearer to the door than
necessary.
Curtain airbags
D o n o t fi x o r a t t a c h a n y t h i n g t o t h e
r o o f . T h i s c o u l d c a u s e i n j u r y t o t h e
head if the curtain airbag is trig-
gered.
Do not remove the grab handles in-
stalled on the roof, they play a part in
securing the curtain airbags.

RUNNING OUT OF FUEL (DIESEL)
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a n H D I e n -
gine, the fuel system must be primed if
you run out of fuel.
This system consists of a priming pump
and, according to engine (see graphic
and explanations below), a transparent
pipe and a bleed screw under the bonnet
(refer to the corresponding graphic). 1.6 litre Turbo HDI 16V engine
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i t r e s
of diesel.
Open the bonnet.
Operate the priming pump until it
hardens.
Operate the starter until the engine
starts.
Close the bonnet. 2 litre Turbo HDI 16V engine
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i -
tres of diesel.
Open the bonnet.
Unclip the style cover for access to
the priming pump.
Slacken the bleed screw.
Squeeze and release the priming
pump until fuel appears in the trans-
parent pipe with the green connector.
Retighten the bleed screw.
Operate the starter until the engine
starts.
Put the style cover back in position
and clip it in place.
Close the bonnet.
If the engine does not start
a t t h e fi r s t a t t e m p t , d o n o t t r y
again.
Operate the priming pump again,
then the starter. If the engine does not start
a t t h e fi r s t a t t e m p t , d o n o t t r y
again.
