Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Engine
autodiagnosis system
fi x e d . The emission control system
has a fault. This lamp should switch off when the
engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer urgently.
fl a s h i n g . The engine management
system has a fault. Risk of destruction of the catalytic
convertor.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low fuel
level fi x e d w i t h t h e n e e d l e
in the red zone. W h e n i t fi r s t c o m e s o n t h e r e
remains approximately
6 litres of fuel in the tank.
At this point, you begin to
use the fuel reserve. Refuel as soon as possible to avoid
running out of fuel.
This warning lamp will come on every
time the ignition is switched on, until a
s u f fi c i e n t a d d i t i o n o f f u e l i s m a d e .
Fuel tank capacity: approximately
60 litres .
Never continue to drive until you run
out of fuel, as this could damage the
emission control and injection systems.
Maximum
coolant
temperature fi x e d w i t h t h e n e e d l e
in the red zone. The temperature of the
cooling system is too high. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Wait until the engine has cooled down
before topping up the level, if necessary.
If the problem persists, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil
pressure fi x e d . There is a fault with the
engine lubrication system. Stop as soon it is safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery
charge fi x e d . The battery charging circuit
has a fault (dirty or loose
terminals, slack or cut
alternator belt, ...). This lamp should switch off when the
engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.

Coolant temperature indicator
With the engine running, when the nee-
dle is:
- in zone A , the temperature is correct,
- in zone B , the temperature is too
high; the max temperature warning
lamp 1 and the central STOP warn-
ing lamp come on, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction screen. After driving for a few minutes, the tem-
perature and pressure in the cooling
system increase.
To top up the level:
wait for the engine to cool,
unscrew the cap by two turns to
allow the pressure to drop,
when the pressure has dropped,
remove the cap,
top up the level to the "MAX" mark.
You MUST stop as soon as it is safe
to do so.
Wait a few minutes before switching off
the engine.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

emissions fi l t e r
(Diesel) fi x e d , a s s o c i a t e d
temporarily with
lighting of the service warning lamp. This indicates that the
p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r i s
starting to become saturated. As soon as driving conditions allow,
r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a
speed of at least 35 mph (60 km/h) until
the service warning lamp switches off.

level for the Diesel fuel
additive reservoir.
Have the reservoir topped up as soon as
possible by a PEUGEOT dealer.

sealing of the fuel system.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres. T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
it is essential that the engine is
switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
When refueling is complete:
p u t t h e c a p b a c k i n p l a c e ,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fi l l e r fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue af-
ter the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Operating fault
A malfunction of the fuel gauge is indi-
c a t e d b y t h e r e t u r n t o z e r o o f t h e f u e l
level indicator needle.

Refueling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fi l l e r
fl a p r e m i n d s y o u o f t h e t y p e o f f u e l t o b e
used according to your engine.
M o r e t h a n 5 l i t r e s o f f u e l m u s t b e a d d -
e d i n o r d e r t o b e r e g i s t e r e d b y t h e f u e l
gauge. When the fuel tank minimum
level is reached, this warning
lamp comes on on the instru-
m e n t p a n e l , a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n
a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e
on the multifunction screen.
W h e n t h e l a m p fi r s t c o m e s o n , y o u h a v e
approximately 6 litres of fuel remaining.
You must refuel to avoid run-
ning out of fuel.

fer also to the "Checks" section.
