5. Air conditioning On/Off The air conditioning is de-
signed to operate effectively in
all seasons, with the windows
closed. The control button is located on
the heating or air conditioning
system control panel. REAR SCREEN DEMIST/
DEFROST
Switch off the demist/defrost of
the rear screen and door mir-
rors as soon as it is no longer
needed as lower current con-
sumption results in reduced
fuel consumption.
If the engine is switched off before the
demist/defrost is switched off auto-
matically, demist/defrost will resume
next time the engine is switched on.
The demist/defrost is deactivated
when the retractable roof is stored in
the boot.

The rear screen demist/defrost can only
operate when the engine is running.
Press this button to demist/defrost
the rear screen and the exterior mir-
rors. The indicator lamp associated
with the button comes on.
S w i t c h i n g o f f
The demist/defrost switches off auto-
matically to prevent an excessive con-
sumption of current.
It is possible to stop the demist/de-
frost operation before it is switched
off automatically by pressing the but-
ton again. The indicator lamp associ-
ated with the button switches off.
It enables you to:
- lower the temperature, in summer,
- increase the effectiveness of the
demisting, in winter above 0 °C.

ated indicator lamp comes on.

When the engine is cold, to prevent
too great a distribution of cold air,
t h e a i r fl o w w i l l o n l y r e a c h i t s o p t i -
mum level gradually.
In cold weather, it favours the dis-
tribution of warm air to the wind-
screen, the side windows and the
footwells only. On entering the vehicle, if the in-
terior temperature is much colder
or warmer than the comfort value,
there is no need to alter the value
displayed in order to obtain the re-
quired level of comfort. The system
corrects the temperature differ-
ence automatically and as quickly
as possible.
The air conditioning can only operate
with the engine running.
The driver and his front passen-
ger can each set the tempera-
ture to suit their requirements.
Turn dial 2 or 3 to the left to reduce
the value or to the right to increase it.
A setting around 21 enables you to ob-
tain an optimum level of comfort. De-
pending on your requirements, a setting
between 18 and 24 is usual.
In addition, it is recommended that you
avoid a left/right setting difference of
more than 3.
4. Automatic visibility programme The automatic comfort pro-

to quickly demist or defrost the
windscreen and side windows
(humidity, several passengers,
ice...).
In this case, select the automatic
visibility programme.
The system automatically controls the
a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g , t h e a i r fl o w a n d t h e a i r
intake and provides optimum distribu-
tion of the ventilation to the windscreen
and side windows.
Automatic operation
Press the "AUTO" button.
The "AUTO" symbol is

DUAL-ZONE DIGITAL AIR CONDITIONING
We recommend that you use this mode:
it provides optimised automatic control of
all of the functions, passenger compart-
m e n t t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r fl o w , a i r d i s t r i b u -
tion and air recirculation, in accordance
with the comfort value that you have se-
lected.
This system is designed to operate ef-
fectively in all seasons, with the win-
dows closed. The value indicated on the display cor-
responds to a level of comfort and not
to a temperature in degrees Celsius or
Fahrenheit.

To exit this programme, press the "vis-
ibility" button again or the "AUTO"
button, the indicator lamp on the button
switches off and "AUTO" is displayed.

Press the "small fan" button until
the fan symbol disappears.
This action deactivates all of the func-
tions of the air conditioning system.
The temperature is no longer main-
tained at a comfortable level. However,
a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e t o t h e m o v e m e n t
of the vehicle, can still be felt.
Press the "large fan" button again
or the "AUTO" button to reactivate
the system with the values which
were set before it was deactivated.
Press this button to recir-
culate the interior air. The
air recirculation symbol is
displayed.
5. Air conditioning On/Off
Avoid driving for too long with the
air conditioning deactivated.
Avoid prolonged operation in inte-
rior air recirculation mode (risk of
condensation and of deterioration
of the air quality).

quired. Air recirculation prevents exterior odours
and smoke from entering the passenger
compartment.
As soon as possible, press this but-
ton again to permit the intake of ex-
terior air and prevent misting.
For maximum cooling or heating of
the passenger compartment, you
can exceed the minimum value of
14 or the maximum value of 28.
Turn dial 2 or 3 to the left until
"LO" is displayed or to the right
until "HI" is displayed.
Resuming manual control
Depending on your requirements, you
can make a different selection from that
offered by the system by changing a
setting. The other functions will still be
controlled automatically.
Press the "AUTO" button to return
to fully automatic operation.
Switching the system off may result in
discomfort (humidity, condensation).
Press the button again to return to
automatic operation of the air con-

These operate with the dipped and main
beam headlamps.
To switch on the foglamps, turn ring
C forwards.
To switch off the rear foglamps, turn
ring C rearwards twice in succession.
When the lighting is switched off auto-
m a t i c a l l y ( o n A U T O m o d e l ) o r w h e n t h e
dipped beam headlamps are switched
off manually, the foglamps and the side-
lamps will remain on.
Turn the ring rearwards to switch
off the foglamps, the sidelamps will
then switch off.
Do not forget to switch off the front
foglamps and the rear foglamps
when they are no longer neces-
sary. In normal light levels, the
power of their beams may dazzle
other drivers. Lighting on reminder
The triggering of an audible signal
when a door is opened warns the
driver that they have forgotten to
switch off the vehicle's lighting, with
the ignition off.
In this case, switching off the light-
ing will stop the audible signal.
When the ignition is switched off,
if the dipped beam headlamps re-
main on, they will be switched off
automatically after thirty minutes to
prevent discharging of the battery. This indicator lamp comes on
on the instrument panel.

er's visibility in relation to the weather

wash
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk to-
wards you.
The headlamp wash is only activate if
the dipped headlamps are on .
With daytime running lamps, to
activate the headlamp wash, posi-
tion the lighting stalk in the dipped
beam position.
O n v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h d i g i t a l a i r
conditioning, any action on the
windscreen wash control results in
temporary closing of the air intake
to avoid odours inside the passen-
ger compartment.
Automatic wiping is not available
on the 207CC at present.

TYRE UNDER-INFLATION
DETECTION
System which automatically checks the
pressure of the tyres while driving. All repairs and changing of tyres on
a w h e e l fi t t e d w i t h t h i s s y s t e m m u s t
be carried out by a PEUGEOT
dealer.
If, when changing a tyre, you in-
stall a wheel which is not detected
b y y o u r v e h i c l e ( e x a m p l e : fi t t i n g
of snow tyres), you must have the
system reinitialised by a PEUGEOT
dealer.
This system does not eliminate
the need to have the tyre pres-
sure checked regularly (refer to
the "Technical information - Identi-
fi c a t i o n m a r k i n g s " p a g e ) t o e n s u r e
that the optimum dynamic perfor-
mance of the vehicle is maintained
and prevent premature wear of the
tyres, particularly in arduous driv-
ing conditions (heavy load, high
speed).
The tyre pressures must be checked
cold, at least once a month. Re-
member to check the pressure of
the spare wheel.
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system may experience temporary
interference due to electro-magnetic
signals on a frequency close to that
used by the system.
S e n s o r s fi t t e d i n e a c h v a l v e t r i g g e r a w a r n -
ing in the event of malfunction. The speed
has to be above 12 mph (20 km/h).
A message appears on the multifunc-
tion screen, accompanied by an audible
signal, to locate the wheel concerned.
Check the tyre pressures as soon
as possible.
This check must be carried out when
the tyres are cold.
Flat tyre This warning lamp and the
STOP
warning lamp come on on the in-
strument panel, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction screen locat-
ing the wheel concerned.
Stop immediately, avoiding any sud-
den movement of the steering wheel
and the brakes.
Change the damaged wheel (punc-
t u r e d o r v e r y d e fl a t e d t y r e ) , a n d
have the tyre pressure checked as
soon as possible.
Puncture
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system is an aid to driving which
does not replace the need for the
driver to be vigilant or to drive re-
sponsibly. Sensor(s) not detected or faulty
A message appears on the multifunc-
tion screen, accompanied by an audible
signal, to locate the wheel or wheels
which are not detected or to indicate a
fault in the system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to replace
the faulty sensor(s).
This message is also displayed
when one of the wheels is away
from the vehicle (being repaired) or
when one or more wheels without a
s e n s o r a r e fi t t e d .
