Using automatic air conditioning system
Press .
The air conditioning system begins to oper
ate. Air outlets and fan
speed are automatically adjusted according to the temperature
setting.
Press “ ” on to increase the temperature and “ ” to
decrease the temperature.
When is pressed (the indicator on is on) or the passen-
ger’s side temperature control button is pressed, the temperature for
the driv
er and passenger seats can be adjusted separately.

Adjusting the settings manually
■Basic setting
To turn on the air conditioning s
ystem and adjust the fan speed,
press “ ” on to increase the fan speed and “ ” o
n to
decrease the fan speed.
Press to turn the fan off.
To adjust the temperature setting, press “ ” on to increase
the temperature and “ ” to decr
ease the temperature.
When is pressed (the indicator on is on) or the passen-
ger’s side temperature control button is pressed, the temperature for
the driv
er and passenger seats can be adjusted separately.
To change the air outlets, press .
The air outlets used are switched each time the button is pressed. The
air flow shown on the display indicates the following:

Defogging

■Air conditioning system settings
When the “POWER” switch is turned on, the a
ir conditioning system settings will be
set to those that were in use the last time the “POWER” switch was turned off.
●Air conditioning system settings are memorized individually on each electronic
key, so the settings reproduced will be specific to the key that is used.
●This feature is customizable at your Lexus dealer.
■Using automatic mode
Fan speed is adjusted automatically acco r
ding to the temperature setting and ambi-
ent conditions. As a result, the following may occur:
●The system may switch automatically to recirculated air mode when the coolest
temperature setting is selected when the ambient temperature is high.
●Immediately after the button is pressed, the fan may stop for a while until warm
or cool air is ready to flow.
●Cool air may flow to the area around the upper body when the heater is on.

■Using the system in recirculated air mode
The windows will fog up more easily if recirculated air mode is used.
■Window defogger feature
Recirculated air mode may automatically switch to (outside air) mode in sit-
uations where the windows need to be defogged.
■When micro dust and pollen filter is active
●In order to prevent the windshield from fogging up when the outside air is cold,
the following may occur:
• Outside air mode does not switch to (recirculated air) mode.
• The air conditioning syst em operates automatically.
• The operation cancels after 1 minute.
●In rainy weather, the windows may fog up. Press .
■When outside air temperature is below 32 F (0C)
The cooling and dehumidification func tion may not operate even when
is
pressed.
■Air conditioning odors
●During use, various odors from inside and outside the vehicle may enter into
and accumulate in the air conditioning sy stem. This may then cause odor to be
emitted from the vents.
●To reduce potential odors from occurring:
• It is recommended that the air conditioning system be set to outside air mode
prior to turning the vehicle off.
• The start timing of the blower may be delayed for a short period of time immediately after the air conditioning system is started in automatic mode.
CAUTION
■To prevent the windshield from fogging up
Do not use
during cool air oper ation in extremely humid weather. The dif-
ference between the temperature of the outs ide air and that of the windshield can
cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, blocking your vision.
