Turn signal indicator
The blinking green arrows on the instru-
ment panel shows the direction indicated
by the turn signals. If the arrow comes on
but does not blink or blinks more rapidly
than normal or does not illuminate at all,
it indicates a malfunction in the turn sig-
nal system. It should be checked by an
authorized KIA dealer.

High beam indicator
This indicator illuminates when the head- lights are on and in the high beam posi-
tion or when the turn signal lever is pulled
into the Flash-to-Pass position.D150307AUN
Engine oil pressure
warning light
This warning light indicates the engine oil
pressure is low.
If the warning light illuminates while driv- ing:
1. Drive safely to the side of the road and stop.
2. With the engine off, check the engine oil level. If the level is low, add oil as required.
If the warning light remains on after
adding oil or if oil is not available, call an
authorized KIA dealer.
CAUTION
If the engine is not stopped imme- diately after the engine oil pressure
warning light is illuminated, severe damage could result.
CAUTION
If the oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine is run-
ning, serious engine damage may result. The oil pressure warninglight comes on whenever there isinsufficient oil pressure. In normal
operation, it should come on whenthe ignition switch is turned on, then go out when the engine is
started. If the oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine isrunning, there is a serious malfunc-tion.
If this happens, stop the car assoon as it is safe to do so, turn offthe engine and check the oil level. If the oil level is low, fill the engine oilto the proper level and start the
engine again. If the light stays onwith the engine running, turn theengine off immediately. In any instance where the oil light stays on
when the engine is running, theengine should be checked by an authorized KIA dealer before thecar is driven again.

3. Turn the engine off and wait for a few
minutes (about 5 minutes) for the oil to
return to the oil pan.
4. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, and re-insert it fully.
5. Pull the dipstick out again and check the level. The level should be betweenF and L. If it is near or at L, add enough oil to bring
the level to F.
Do not overfill.
Use a funnel to help prevent oil frombeing spilled on engine components.
Use only the specified engine oil. (Refer to “Recommended lubricants and capaci-ties” in section 8.)

Have the engine oil and filter changed by
an authorized KIA dealer according tothe Maintenance Schedule at the begin-ning of this section.
WARNING - Radiator hose
Be very careful not to touch the
radiator hose when checking or
adding the engine oil as it may be
hot enough to burn you.

of time. Used engine oil contains
chemicals that have caused cancer
in laboratory animals. Always pro-
tect your skin by washing your
hands thoroughly with soap and
warm water as soon as possibleafter handling used oil.
CAUTION
Do not overfill the engine oil. It may damage the engine.

WARNING - Brake/clutch fluid
When changing and adding
brake/clutch fluid, handle it careful-
ly. Do not let it come in contact with
your eyes. If brake/clutch fluid
should come in contact with your
eyes, immediately flush them with a
large quantity of fresh tap water.
Have your eyes examined by a doc-
tor as soon as possible.CAUTION
Do not allow brake/clutch fluid con- tact the vehicle's body paint, as
paint damage will result.Brake/clutch fluid, which has beenexposed to open air for an extended time should never be used as its
quality cannot be guaranteed. Itshould be disposed of properly.Don't put in the wrong kind of fluid.
A few drops of mineral-based oil,such as engine oil, in yourbrake/clutch system can damagebrake system parts.
