cDuring cold weather or rainy days, the player
may malfunction due to the humidity. If this
occurs, remove the CD and dehumidify or ven-
tilate the player completely.
c The player may skip while driving on rough
roads.
c The CD player sometimes cannot function
when the passenger compartment tempera-
ture is extremely high. Decrease the tem-
perature before use.
c Only use high quality 4.7 in (12 cm) round
discs that have the ªCOMPACT disc DIGITAL
AUDIOº logo on the disc or packaging.
c Do not expose the CD to direct sunlight.
c CDs that are of poor quality, dirty, scratched,
covered with fingerprints, or that have pin
holes may not work properly.
c The following CDs may not work properly:
± Copy control compact discs (CCCD)
± Recordable compact discs (CD-R)
± Rewritable compact discs (CD-RW)
c Do not use the following CDs as they may
cause the CD player to malfunction.
± 3.1 in (8 cm) discs
± CDs that are not round ±
CDs with a paper label
± CDs that are warped, scratched, or have
abnormal edges
c This audio system can only play prerecorded
CDs. It has no capabilities to record or burn
CDs.
c If the CD cannot be played, one of the follow-
ing messages will be displayed.
CHECK DISC: ± Confirm that the CD is inserted correctly
(the label side is facing up, etc.).
± Confirm that the CD is not bent or warped
and it is free of scratches.
PUSH EJECT:
This is an error due to the temperature inside
the player is too high. Remove the CD by
pushing the EJECT button, and after a short
time reinsert the CD. The CD can be played
when the temperature of the player returns to
normal.
UNPLAYABLE:
The file is unplayable in this audio system
(only MP3 or WMA CD).CompactFlash (CF) player
c Do not force a CF card into the slot. This could
damage the CF card and/or player.
c During cold weather or rainy days, the player
may malfunction due to the humidity. If this

c Large video podcast files cause slow re-
sponses in the iPod T. The vehicle center dis-
play may momentarily black out, but it will
soon recover.
c If the iPod Tautomatically selects large video
podcast files while in the shuffle mode, the
vehicle center display may momentarily
black out, but it will soon recover.

cImproperly plugging in the iPod Tmay cause
a checkmark to be displayed on and off (flick-
ering). Always make sure that the iPodT is
connected properly.
c The iPodT nano (2nd Generation) will con-
tinue to fast forward or rewind if it is discon-
nected during a seek operation.
c An incorrect song title may appear when the
Play Mode is changed while using the iPodT
nano (2nd Generation).
c Audiobooks may not play in the same order
as they appear on the iPodT.
c The iPodT nano (1st Generation) may remain
in fast forward or rewind mode if it is con-
nected during a seek operation. In this case,
please manually reset the iPodT.
c If you are using an iPod T(3rd Generation with
Dock connector), do not use very long names
for the song title, album name or artist name
to avoid the iPodT from resetting itself.
c Be careful not to do the following, or the
cable could be damaged and a loss of func-
tion may occur.
± Bend the cable excessively (1.6 in (40 mm)
radius minimum).
± Twist the cable excessively (more than
180 degrees). ±
Pull or drop the cable.
± Close the center console lid on the cable or
connectors.
± Store objects with sharp edges in the stor-
age where the cable is stored.
± Spill liquids on the cable and connectors.
c Do not connect the cable to the iPod Tif the
cable and/or connectors are wet. It may dam-
age the iPodT.
c If the cable and connectors are exposed to
water, allow the cable and/or connectors to
dry completely before connecting the cable
to the iPodT (wait 24 hours for it to dry).
c If the connector is exposed to fluids other
than water, evaporative residue may cause a
short between the connector pins. In this
case, replace the cable, otherwise damage to
the iPodT and a loss of function may occur.
c If the cable is damaged (insulation cut, con-
nectors cracked, contamination such as liq-
uids, dust, dirt, etc. in the connectors), do not
use the cable and contact an INFINITI retailer
to replace the cable with a new one.
c When not in use for extended periods of time,
store the cable in a clean, dust free environ-
ment at room temperature and without direct
sun exposure. c
Do not use the cable for any other purposes
other than its intended use in the vehicle.
c iPodT charging is only possible for devices
that support charging via a FireWire Tconnec-
tion. Devices that can be charged by the iPod
player include:
± iPodT Classic - 1st through 6th generation
± iPodT Mini - 1st and 2nd generation
± iPodT Nano - 1st through 3rd generation

of normal audio files. MP3 conversion of an
audio track from CD/CF can reduce the file
size by approximately 10:1 ratio (Sampling:
44.1 kHz, Bit rate: 128 kbps) with virtually no
perceptible loss in quality. MP3 compression
removes the redundant and irrelevant parts
of a sound signal that the human ear doesn't
hear.
c WMA Ð Windows Media Audio (WMA) is a
compressed audio format created by Mi-
crosoft as an alternative to MP3. The WMA
codec offers greater file compression than
the MP3 codec, enabling storage of more
digital audio tracks in the same amount of
space when compared to MP3s at the same
level of quality.
c Bit rate Ð Bit rate denotes the number of
bits per second used by a digital music files.
The size and quality of a compressed digital
audio file is determined by the bit rate used
when encoding the file.
c Sampling frequency Ð Sampling frequency
is the rate at which the samples of a signal
are converted from analog to digital (A/D
conversion) per second. c
Multisession Ð Multisession is one of the
methods for writing data to media. Writing
data once to the media is called a single
session, and writing more than once is
called a multisession.
c ID3/WMA Tag Ð The ID3/WMA tag is the part
of the encoded MP3 or WMA file that con-
tains information about the digital music file
such as song title, artist, album title, encod-
ing bit rate, track time duration, etc. ID3 tag
information is displayed on the

Adjusting tone quality and speaker balance :
To adjust Bass, Treble, Balance and Fade, push
the Audio control knob. When the display
shows the setting you want to change (Bass,
Treble, Balance and Fade), rotate the Audio
control knob to set the desired setting. For the
other setting methods, see ªHOW TO USE SET-
TING BUTTONº earlier in this section.
This vehicle has some sound effect functions as

FM-AM-SAT radio operation
orRadio (FM/AM/SAT) band select :
Pushing the radio band select button will
change the band as follows:
AM !FM !XM !AM When the radio band select button is pushed
while the ignition switch is in the ACC or ON
position, the radio will come on at the station
last played.
The last station played will also come on when
the ON´OFF/VOL control knob is pushed to ON.
The satellite radio mode requires an active XM
T
satellite radio service subscription. Satellite
radio is not available in Alaska, Hawaii and
Guam.
If another audio source is playing when the
radio band select button is turned to ON, the
audio source will automatically be turned off
and the last radio station played will come on.
When the stereo broadcast signal is weak, the
radio will automatically change from stereo to
monaural reception.
TUNE (Tuning) :
c For AM and FM radio
Turn the TUNE/FOLDER knob for manual tun-
ing.
c For satellite radio
Turn the TUNE/FOLDER knob to seek stations
from all of the categories when any CAT is
not selected.
SEEK tuning/CATEGORY
(CAT) :
c For AM and FM radio
Push the SEEK´CAT or TRACK button
orto tune from low to high or high to
low frequencies and to stop at the next
broadcasting station.
c For satellite radio
Push the SEEK´CAT or TRACK button

SCAN tuning :
Push the SCAN tuning button to tune from low
to high frequencies and stop at each broadcast-
ing station for 5 seconds. Pushing the button
again during this 5-second period will stop
SCAN tuning and the radio will remain tuned to
that station.
If the SCAN tuning button is not pushed within
5 seconds, SCAN tuning moves to the next
station.
PRESET select :
Push the PRESET select button to go to the next
PRESET. After choosing from the PRESET A, B or
C, you can select the desired station using the
INFINITI controller or pushing the station preset
buttons
to.
toStation memory operations :
6 stations can be set for PRESET A, B and C. The
PRESET A, B and C function allows you to store
a combination of FM, AM and SAT stations for
easy access.
1. Choose preset station A, B or C using the preset select button.
2. Tune to the desired station using the SEEK, SCAN or TUNE button. 3. Select the desired station and push and
hold the desired station preset button
tountil a beep sound is
heard. (The radio mutes when the select
button is pushed.)
4. The station indicator will then come on and the sound will resume. Memorizing is
now complete.
5. Other buttons can be set in the same manner.
If the battery cable is disconnected, or if the
fuse opens, the radio memory will be erased. In
that case, reset the desired stations.
Text :
When the ªText º key is selected with the
INFINITI controller on the display and then the
ENTER button is pushed while the satellite radio
is being played, the text information will be
displayed on the screen.

lite programming is selected to show the text

Compact Disc (CD) player/changer
operation
Push the ignition switch to the ACC or ON
position, push the LOAD button (if so equipped)
and insert the Compact Disc (CD) into the slot
with the label side facing up. The CD will be
guided automatically into the slot and start
playing.
After loading the CD, the number of tracks on
the CD and the play time will appear on the
display.
If the radio is already operating, it will automati-
cally turn off and the CD will play.
If the system has been turned off while the CD
was playing, pushing the ON´OFF/VOL control
knob will start the CD.
Do not use 3.1 in (8 cm) discs.
CD LOAD (if so equipped) :
To insert a CD in the CD changer, push the LOAD
button for less than 1.5 seconds. Select the

loading position by pushing the CD insert select

To insert 6 CDs to the CD changer in succession,
push the LOAD button for more than 1.5 sec-
onds.
The inserted slot numbers will illuminate on the
display.
orCD PLAY :
When the DISC (CD play) button is pushed with
the system off and the CD loaded, the system
will turn on and the CD will start to play.
When the DISC button is pushed with the CD
loaded and the radio playing, the radio will
automatically be turned off and the CD will start
to play.
When the DISC button is pushed while a CD is
loaded and a medium is played using the
auxiliary input jacks, you can toggle back and
forth between CD and medium.

When the ª Textº key is selected in the screen
using the INFINITI controller and then the ENTER
button is pushed while the CD is being played,
the music information below will be displayed

REW :
When the
(fast forward) or(rewind)
button is pushed for more than 1.5 seconds
while the CD is being played, the CD will play
while fast forwarding or rewinding. When the
button is released, the CD will return to normal
play speed.
When the
orbutton is pushed for
less than 1.5 seconds while the CD is being played, the next track or the beginning of the
current track on the CD will be played.
The INFINITI controller can also be used to
select tracks when a CD is being played.
CD PLAY selection (CD changer only) :
To change to another CD already loaded into the
player, push the CD play select buttons
toor choose a disc displayed on the
screen using the INFINITI controller.
REPEAT (RPT) :
When the SCAN´RPT button is pushed while the
CD is played, the play pattern can be changed
