B010A02TB-GAT FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS Use Unleaded Gasoline Except Europe
– Unleaded gasoline
with a Pump Octane Rating of 87 (Re- search Octane Number 91) or highermust be used in Hyundai vehicle. If leaded gasoline is used, it will cause the catalytic converter to become inef-fective and the emission control sys- tem to malfunction. This can also result in increased maintenance expense.To avoid accidental use of leaded fuel, the large nozzle used with leaded gaso- line at service stations can not beinserted into fuel tank opening of Hyundai vehicle. NOTE:
o For some countries, Hyundai ve- hicles are designed to use leaded gasoline. When you are going touse leaded gasoline, ask to Hyundai dealer whether leaded gasoline in your vehicle is avail-able or not.
o Octane Rating of leaded gaso-
line is same with unleaded one.
For Europe
– For the optimal vehicle
performance, we recommend you touse unleaded gasoline with an octanerating of RON (Research Octane Num- ber) 95 /AKI (Anti Knock Index) 91 or higher.You may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of RON 91~94/AKI 87~90 but it may result in slight performancereduction of the vehicle. B010A01TB Diesel fuel Diesel engine must be operated only on commercially available diesel fuel that complies with EN 590 or comparable standard. (EN stands for "EuropeanNorm"). Do not use marine diesel fuel, heating oils, or non-approved fuel addi- tives, as this will increase wear andcause damage to the engine and fuel system. The use of non-approved fuels and / orfuel additives will result in a limitation of your warranty rights. Diesel fuel of above cetane 52 is usedin Hyundai vehicle. If two types of diesel fuel are available, use summer or winter fuel properly according to thefollowing temperature conditions.
o Above -5°C (23°F) ... Summer type
diesel fuel.
o Below -5°C (23°F) ... Winter type
diesel fuel.
Watch the fuel level in the tank very carefully : If the engine stops throughfuel failure, the circuits must be com- pletely purged to permit restarting.

CAUTION:
o Do not let any gasoline or water enter the tank. This would make it necessary to drain it out and tobleed the lines to avoid jamming the injection pump and damaging the engine.
o In winter, in order to cut down incidents due to freezing, paraffinoil may be added to the fuel if thetemperature drops to below -10°C. Never use more than 20% paraffin oil.!
CAUTION: Diesel Fuel
It is recommended to use the regu- lated automotive diesel fuel for die- sel vehicle equipped with the DPFsystem. If you use diesel fuel including high sulfur (more than 50 ppm sulfur) andunspecified additives, it can cause the DPF system to be damaged and white smoke can be emitted.
! B010B01A-AAT What About Gasohol? Gasohol (a mixture of 90% unleaded gasoline and 10% ethanol or grainalcohol) may be used in your Hyundai. However, if your engine develops driveability problems, the use of 100%unleaded gasoline is recommended. Fuels with unspecified quantities of alcohol, or alcohols other than ethanol,should not be used.
Biodiesel Commercially supplied Diesel blends of no more than 7% biodiesel, com- monly known as "B7 Diesel" may be used in your vehicle if Biodiesel meetsEN 14214 or equivalent specifications. (EN stands for "European Norm"). The use of biofuels exceeding 7% madefrom rapeseed methyl ester (RME), fatty acid methyl ester (FAME), veg- etable oil methyl ester (VME) etc. ormixing diesel exceeding 7% with biodiesel will cause increased wear or damage to the engine and fuel system.Repair or replacement of worn or dam- aged components due to the use of non approved fuels will not be covered bythe manufactures warranty.
CAUTION:
o Never use any fuel, whether diesel or B7 biodiesel or otherwise thatfails to meet the latest petroleumindustry specification.
o Never use any fuel additives or
treatments that are not recom-mended or approved by the ve- hicle manufacturer.
! B010D01S-AAT Do not Use Methanol Fuels containing methanol (wood al- cohol) should not be used in your Hyundai. This type of fuel can reducevehicle performance and damage com- ponents of the fuel system.
CAUTION:
Your Hyundai's New Vehicle Lim- ited Warranty may not cover dam- age to the fuel system and perfor- mance problems that are caused bythe use of methanol or fuels con- taining methanol.

B020A01S-GAT BREAKING IN YOUR NEW HYUNDAIDuring the First 2,000 Km (1,200Miles) (Gasoline Engine) No formal "break-in" procedure is re- quired with your new Hyundai. How- ever, you can contribute to the eco- nomical operation and durability of yourHyundai by observing the following recommendations during the first 2,000 km (1,200 miles).
o Don't drive faster than 88 km/h (55
mph).
o While driving, keep your engine speed (rpm, or revolutions per minute) between 2,000 rpm and4,000 rpm.
o Use moderate acceleration. Don't
start, depress the accelerator pedalfully.
o For the first 300 km (200 miles), try
to avoid hard stops.
o Don't lug the engine (in other words, don't drive so slowly in toohigh agear that the engine "bucks": shift toa lower gear).
o Whether going fast or slow, vary your
speed from time to time. o Don't let the engine idle longer than 3
minutes at one time.
o Don't tow a trailer during the first 2,000 km (1,200 miles) of operation.

o Observe all regulations regarding
registration and insurance.
o Determine that acceptable fuel is available.

o Automotive fuels are flammable/
explosive materials. When refuel- ing, please note the following guidelines carefully.
o Before touching the fuel nozzle or
fuel filler cap, have one's hands incontact with metal parts away from the filler neck to discharge staticelectricity.
o Do not get back in the vehicle
while refueling. Do not operateanything that can produce static electricity. Static electricity dis- charge can ignite fuel vapors re- sulting in explosion.
o When using a portable fuel con-
tainer be sure to place the con-tainer on the ground while refuel- ing. Static electricity dischargefrom the container can ignite fuel vapors causing a fire. While start- ing refueling contact should bemaintained until the filling is com- plete.
o Do not use cellular phones around
a gas station. The electric currentor electronic interference from cellular phones can ignite fuelvapors causing a fire.

o Gasoline vapors are dangerous. Before refueling, always stop the engine and never allow sparks or open flames near the filler area. If you need to replace the filler cap,use a genuine Hyundai replace- ment part. If you open the fuel filler cap dur-ing high ambient temperatures, a slight "pressure sound" may be heard. This is normal and not acause for concern. Whenever you open the fuel filler cap, turn it slowly.
o When refueling always shut the engine off. Sparks by electrical equipment of the engine can ig- nite fuel vapors causing a fire. After refueling, check to make surethe fuel filler cap is securely closed, and then start the engine.
o Do not smoke or try to light ciga- rettes around a gas station. Auto-motive fuels are flammable.

In winter, or if you have driven through mud or muddy water, be sure to thoroughly clean theunderside as well. Use a hard direct stream of water to remove accumula- tions of mud or corrosive materials.Use a good quality car-washing solu- tion and follow the manufacturer's di- rections on the package. These areavailable at your Hyundai dealer or auto parts outlet. Don't use strong house- hold detergents, gasoline, strong sol-vents or abrasive cleaning powders as these may damage the finish. Use a clean sponge or cloth, rinse itfrequently and don't damage the finish by rubbing too hard. For stubborn spots, dampen them frequently and removethem a little at a time. To clean whitewall tires, use a stiff brush or soapy steel-wool scouringpad. To clean plastic wheel covers, use a clean sponge or soft cloth and water. To clean cast aluminum alloy wheels, use a mild soap or neutral detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Protect thebare-metal surfaces by cleaning, pol- ishing and waxing. Because aluminum is subject to corrosion, be sure to givealuminum alloy wheels special atten- tion in winter. If you drive on salted roads, clean the wheels thoroughly af-terwards. After washing, be sure to rinse thor- oughly. If soapy water dries on the finish, streaking will result. When the weather is warm and the humidity low, you may find it neces- sary to rinse each section immediatelyafter washing to avoid streaking. After rinsing, dry the car using a damp chamois or soft, absorbent cloth. The reason for drying the car is to remove water from the car so it will dry withoutwater spots. Don't rub, this can dam- age the finish. If you find any nicks or scratches in the paint, use touch-up paint to cover them to prevent corrosion. To protect the paintwork of the car against corrosion, you must clean your Hyundai (at least once a month). Givespecial attention to the removal of salt, mud and other substances on the un- derside of the splashboards of the car.Make sure that the outlets and the underside of the doors are open. Paint damage can be caused by small accu-mulation of tar, industrial precipitation, tree resin, insects and bird droppings, when not removed immediately. If wa-ter alone is not strong enough to re- move the accumulated dirt, use a mild car washing solution. Be sure to rinsethe surface after washing to remove the solution. Never allow the solution to dry on the painted surfaces.
CAUTION:
o Be careful when the side windows of your vehicle. Especailly, with high-pressure water. Water may leak through the windows and wetthe interior.
o To prevent damage to the plastic
parts, do not clean with chemicalsolvents or strong detergents.

trolyte or hydraulic brake fluid on the bumpers. If you do, wash it off im- mediately with clear water.

surfaces. They are made of softplastic and the surface can be dam- aged if mistreated. Do not use abra-sive cleaners. Use warm water and mild soap or car-washing solution.
o Do not expose the bumpers to high
temperatures. For example, if youhave your car repainted, do not leave the bumpers on the car if thecar is going to be placed in a high- temperature paint booth.
