Seat warmer (if equipped)
The seat warmer is provided to warm the
front seats during cold weather. With the
ignition switch in the ON position, push
either of the switches to warm the driver's
seat or the front passenger's seat.
During mild weather or under conditions
where the operation of the seat warmer
is not needed, keep the switches in the
"OFF" position.
✽ ✽NOTICE
With the seat warmer switch in ON
position, the heating system in the seat
turns off or on automatically depending
on the seat temperature.

WARNING- Seat warmer
burns
Passengers should use extreme
caution when using seat warmers
due to the possibility of excess
heating or burns. In particular, the
driver must exercise extreme care
for the following types of passen-
gers:
1. Infants, children, elderly or hand-
icapped persons, or hospital out-
patients
2. Persons with sensitive skin or those that burn easily
3. Fatigued individuals
4. Intoxicated individuals
5. Individuals taking medication that can cause drowsiness or
sleepiness (sleeping pills, cold
tablets, etc.)
CAUTION
When cleaning the seats, do not use an organic solvent such asthinner, benzene, alcohol or gaso-line. Doing so may damage thesurface of the heater or seats.
To prevent overheating the seat warmer, do not place blankets,cushions or seat covers on theseats while the seat warmer is inoperation.
Do not place heavy or sharp objects on seats equipped withseat warmers. Damage to the seatwarming components could occur.

Sunshade
The sunshade will be opened with the
glass panel automatically when the glass
panel is slid. You will have to close it man-
ually if you want it closed.

Do not press any sunroof controlbutton longer than necessary.Damage to the motor or system components could occur.
Periodically remove any dirt that may accumulate on the guide rail.
If you try to open the sunroof when the temperature is belowfreezing or when the sunroof iscovered with snow or ice, theglass or the motor could be dam- aged.
The sunroof is made to slide together with sunshade. Do notleave the sunshade closed whilethe sunroof is open.WARNING - Sunroof
Be careful that no heads, hands and body parts are obstructing a
closing sunroof.
Do not extend the face, neck, arms or body outside the sunroof
while driving.
Make sure your hands and head are safely out of the way before
closing a sunroof.

Engine temperature gauge
(if equipped)
This gauge shows the temperature of the
engine coolant when the ignition switch
is ON.
Do not continue driving with an overheat-
ed engine. If your vehicle overheats, refer
to “If the engine overheats” in section 6.
Fuel gauge
The fuel gauge indicates the approxi-
mate amount of fuel remaining in the fuel
tank.
The fuel tank capacity is given in sec-
tion 8.The fuel gauge is supplemented by
a low fuel warning light, which will illumi-
nate when the fuel tank is nearly empty.

If the gauge pointer moves beyond the normal range area toward the“H” position, it indicates overheat-ing that may damage the engine.
WARNING
Never remove the radiator cap
when the engine is hot. The engine
coolant is under pressure and
could cause severe burns. Wait
until the engine is cool before
adding coolant to the reservoir.

Running out of fuel can expose
vehicle occupants to danger.
You must stop and obtain addition-
al fuel as soon as possible after the
warning light comes on or when the
gauge indicator comes close to the
E level.

Engine coolant tempera-ture warning light
(if equipped)
This warning light shows the temperature
of the engine coolant when the ignition
switch is ON. The warning light illumi-
nates if the temperature of the engine
coolant is above 248°F (120°C) and the
warning light turns off if the temperature
of the engine coolant is below 239°F
(115°C).
If the warning light illuminates, pull over
and stop as soon as possible and turn off
the engine. Then open the hood and
check the coolant level (If your vehicle
overheats, refer to “If the engine over-
heats” in the Index.) and the water pump
drive belt. If you suspect cooling system
trouble, have your cooling system
checked by a Hyundai dealer as soon as
possible.
✽ ✽ NOTICE
If the engine coolant temperature warn-
ing light illuminates, it indicates over-
heating that may damage the engine.
Low washer fluid level
warning indicator (if equipped)
This warning light indicates the washer
fluid reservoir is near empty. Refill the
washer fluid as soon as possible.
CAUTION
Prolonged driving with the Emission Control SystemMalfunction Indicator Light ( ) illuminated may causedamage to the emission control systems which could effect dri-vability and/or fuel economy.
If the EmissionControl System
Malfunction Indicator Light ( ) illuminates, potential catalyticconverter damage is possible.This could result in loss of enginepower. Have the Engine ControlSystem inspected as soon as pos-sible by an authorized Hyundaidealer.
WARNING
Never remove the radiator cap

Windshield washers
In the OFF position, pull the lever gently
toward you to spray washer fluid on the
windshield and to run the wipers 1-3
cycles.
Use this function when the windshield is
dirty.
The spray and wiper operation will con-
tinue until you release the lever. If the washer does not work, check the
washer fluid level. If the fluid level is not
sufficient, you will need to add appropri-
ate non-abrasive windshield washer fluid
to the washer reservoir.
The reservoir filler neck is located in the
front of the engine compartment on the
passenger side.
✽ ✽
NOTICE
Do not use the interior lights for extend-
ed periods when engine is not running.
It may cause battery discharge.
Map lamp
Push in the map lamp lens to turn the
light on or off. This light produces a spot
beam for convenient use as a map lamp
at night or as a personal lamp for the
driver and the passenger.
CAUTION
To prevent possible damage to the
washer pump, do not operate thewasher when the fluid reservoir isempty.
WARNING
Do not use the washer in freezing
temperatures without first warming
the windshield with the defrosters;
the washer solution could freeze on
contact with the windshield and
obscure your vision.
