B030B01NF-GAT Record Your Key Number A code number is recorded on the number tag that came with the keys to your Hyundai. This key number tag should not be left with the keys but keptin a safe place, not in the vehicle. The key number should also be recorded in a place where it can be found in anemergency. If you need additional keys, or if you should lose your keys, your authorized Hyundai dealer can make new keys if you can supply the key number. B880A01A-GAT (If Installed) The immobilizer system is an anti-theft device, designed to deter automobiletheft.
B880B03MC-GAT Keys All of the locks fitted to the vehicle are operated by the same key. However, since it is possible to lock the doors without the use of the key, care shouldbe exercised to ensure that the key does not become locked inside the vehicle by mistake. NOTE: If you make your own duplicate key, you will not be able to cancel thesystem or start the engine.
B030B01MC CAUTION:
o When starting the engine, do not use the key with other immobi- lizer keys around. Otherwise theengine may not start or may stop soon after it starts. Keep each keys separately not to have any mal-function after you receive your new vehicle.
o Do not install the metal accesso- ries near the key or ignition switch.The engine may not start for the metal accessories may interruptthe transponder signal from nor- mally transmitting.!
!WARNING:
In order to prevent theft of your ve- hicle, do not leave spare keys any-where in your vehicle. Your immobi- lizer password is a customer unique password and should be kept confi-dential. Do not leave this number anywhere in your vehicle.

NOTE: You can get the limp home pass- word when the vehicle is first deliv- ered to you. If you do not have thepassword, consult your authorized Hyundai dealer.
1. To set the password you may turn
the ignition key "ON" and then turn it "OFF" according to the digit num-bers, then the immobilizer indicator will blink along with the operation of the ignition key. For example, turnthe ignition key once for digit number "1", and twice for "2", and so on. However, for the digit number "0",you must turn the ignition key for 10 times.
2. Wait for 3~10 seconds.
3. You may set the remaining number of digits by following the same proce-dures 1 and 2.
4. If all of four digits have been tried successfully, turn the ignition key"ON" and check that the immobilizerindicator illuminates. From this time, you have to start your engine within 30 seconds. If you start your engineafter 30 seconds, your engine will not start.
B880D02A-GAT Limp Home Procedures In case the immobilizer warning indica- tor blinks for five seconds when theignition key is turned to "ON" position, this indicates that the immobilizer sys- tem is out of order. And you cannot startthe engine without the limp home proce- dures with ignition key. The following procedure is how to startthe engine with the function of the limp home. (0, 1, 2, 3 as a sample pass- word).

The vehicle key number is recorded upon a number tag attached to the keys when the vehicle is first delivered toyou. The key number should be recorded and kept in a safe place in case theneed to order further keys arises. New keys are available from any Hyundai dealer by quoting the relevant key num-ber. In the interest of security, the number tag attached to the keys which bearsthe key number should be removed from the key string after you receive your new vehicle. B040D01S-GAT Locking From the Inside To lock the doors from the inside, sim- ply close the door and push the lock switch to the "LOCK" position. Whenthis is done, neither the outside nor the inside door handle can be used. B040E04A-AAT Child-protector Rear Door Lock (4 Door) Your Hyundai is equipped with a "child- protector" rear door lock assembly.When the lock mechanism is engaged, the rear door cannot be opened from the inside. Its use is recommended when-ever there are small children in the rear seat.
NOTE: When the door is locked, the red mark on the switch is not visible.
B040C01MC-AAT Locking From the Outside
The doors can be locked without a key. To lock the doors, first push the inside lock switch to the "LOCK" position sothat the red mark on the switch is not visible, then close the door. NOTE:
o If your vehicle is equipped with central door locking system, the door will not lock if the key is leftin the ignition switch when the front doors are closed.
o When locking the door this way, be careful not to lock the door withthe ignition key left in the vehicle.

B070C03MC-GAT Alarm Stage The alarm will be activated if any of the following occurs while the car is parkedand the system is armed.
1) Any door, tail gate (3 Door) included, is opened without using the trans- mitter.
2) The trunk lid (4 Door) is opened without using the key (For Europe).
3) The engine hood is opened. The alarming horn will sound and the turn signal lights will blink continuously for 27 seconds (For Europe, MiddleEast / Except Europe : This happens 3 times). To turn off the system, unlock the door with the transmitter.
NOTE:
1) If any door, trunk lid (4 Door) / tail gate (3 Door) or engine hood re- mains open, the system will notbe armed (For Europe). If any door, tail gate (3 Door) or engine hood remains open, thesystem will not be armed (Except Europe). If this happens, rearm the systemas described above.
2) Once the system is armed, only
the trunk lid (4 Door) may be un-locked using the ignition key with- out disarming the system (For Europe).

Park the car and stop the engine. Arm the system as described in the follow- ing paragraph.
1) Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
2) Make sure that all doors, trunk lid (4 Door) / tail gate (3 Door) and engine hood are closed and latched (For Europe).Make sure that all doors, tail gate (3 Door) and engine hood are closed and latched (Except Europe).
3) Lock the doors using the transmitter of the keyless entry system.
After completion of the steps above, the turn signal lights will blink once to indicate that the system is armed. CAUTION:
o Do not arm the system until all passengers have left the car. If thesystem is armed while a passenger(s)remains in the car, the alarm may be activated when the remaining passenger(s) leaves the car.
o Avoid trying to start the engine while the system is armed (With-out immobilizer system).

B070D03MC-GAT Disarmed Stage The system will be disarmed when the driver's or passenger's door is unlocked by depressing the button on the trans- mitter after the system was armed. After completion of the step above, the turn signal lights will blink twice toindicate that the system is disarmed. If any door, trunk lid (4 Door) / tail gate (3 Door) included, is not opened within 30 seconds, the system will be rearmed (For Europe).If any door, tail gate (3 Door) included, is not opened within 30 seconds, the system will be rearmed (Except Eu-rope). CAUTION:
Only the transmitter can disarm thearmed stage. If the transmitter doesnot disarm the system, it is neces- sary to take the following steps; Without immobilizer system: 1. Unlock and open the door with the key, which will cause the alarm to be activated.
2. Insert the key in the ignition key
cylinder and turn the ignition keyto "ON" position.
3. Wait for 30 seconds. With immobilizer system: 1. Unlock and open the door with the
key, which will cause the alarm to be activated.
2. Insert the key in the ignition key
cylinder and turn the ignition keyto "START" position.
After completing the steps above,the system will be disarmed.

NOTE: When the system is disarmed with the interior light switched to "DOOR", the interior light will illuminate for 30seconds.
CAUTION:
Do not change, alter or adjust thetheft-alarm system because it couldcause the theft-alarm system to mal- function and should only be ser- viced by an authorized Hyundaidealer. Malfunctions caused by improper alterations, adjustments or modifi-cations to the theft-alarm system are not covered by your vehicle manu- facturer warranty.

B070E02MC-AAT Replacing the battery When the transmitter's battery begins to get weak, it may take several pusheson the button to lock or unlock the doors, and the LED will not light. Re- place the battery as soon as possible. Battery type : CR1220
1. Remove the screw with a phillips
screwdriver.
2. Carefully separate the case with a
flat-head screwdriver.
3. Remove the battery cover with a coin. OMC025004
- The weather is extremely cold.
- The transmitter is close to a radio
transmitter such as a radio station or an airport which can interfere with normal operation of the trans-mitter.
When the transmitter does not workcorrectly, open and close the doorwith the ignition key. If you have a problem with the transmitter, con- tact an authorized Hyundai Dealer. NOTE: Keep the transmitter away from wa- ter or any liquid. If the keyless entry system is inoperative due to expo-sure to water or liquids, it will not be covered by your manufacturer ve- hicle warranty. Replacement instructions:

(If Installed) Locking doors
1. Close all doors.
2. Push the button on the transmitter.
3. At the same time all doors lock, the
turn signal lights will blink once toindicate that the system is armed.
Unlocking doors 1. Push the button on the transmitter once more after all doors were locked.
2. At the same time all doors unlock,
the turn signal lights will blink twice to indicate that the system is dis- armed.
NOTE: The transmitter will not work if any of following occur:
- The ignition key is in ignition switch.
- You exceed the operating distance limit (10 m).
- The battery in the transmitter is weak.
- Other vehicles or objects may be
blocking the signal.

B060A02MC-GAT POWER WINDOWS (If Installed)
The power windows operate when the ignition key is in the "ON" position. The main switches are located on the driver's
armrest and control the front (4/3 Door)
and rear windows (4 Door) on both sides
of the vehicle. The windows may beopened by depressing the appropriate window switch and closed by pulling up the switch. To open the window on the
driver's side, press the switch (1) halfway down. The window moves as long as the switch is operated. To fully open thedriver's window automatically, press the switch fully down. In automatic operation, the window will fully open even if you letgo of the switch. To stop at the desired opening, pull up and release the switch.

To lower or raise the window, turn the window regulator handle clockwise or counterclockwise. WARNING:

case and note the polarity. Make sure the polarity of the new battery is the same (+side facing up), then insert it in the transmitter.

1) Be careful that someone's head, hands and body are not trapped by a closing window.
2) Never try to operate the main
switch on the driver's door andthe individual door window switch in opposing directions at the same time. If this is done, the windowwill stop and cannot be opened or closed.
3) Do not leave children alone in the car. Always remove the ignitionkey for their safety.

In order to prevent operation of the passenger front (4/3 Door) and rear windows (4 Door), a window lock switch(2) is provided on the armrest of the
driver's door. To disable the power win- dows, press the window lock switch. Torevert to normal operation, press the window lock switch a second time. NOTE: The power windows can be operated for 30 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ACC" or "LOCK"positions, or removed from the igni- tion switch. If the front doors are opened during this 30 second pe-riod, the power windows can no longer be operated without the igni- tion key turned to the "ON" position.OMC029049
NOTE: While driving with the rear windows down or with the sunroof (if installed) in an open (or partially open) posi-
tion, your vehicle may demonstrate
a wind buffeting or pulsation
noise. This noise is a normal occur-rence and can be reduced or elimi- nated by taking the following ac-
tions. If the noise occurs with oneor both of the rear windows down,
partially lower both front windows
approximately one inch. If you ex-perience the noise with the sunroof open, slightly reduce the size of the sunroof opening.
