o The SRS can function only when
the ignition key is in the "ON" position. If the SRS is not working properly,(1) The SRS SRI does not come on
when the ignition key is turnedto the "ON" position or after the engine is started.
(2) The SRS SRI blinks for a sec- ond and remains on after illu-minating for about 6 secondswhen the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started.
(3) The SRS SRI illuminates while driving.
If this occurs, have your vehicleimmediately inspected by your Hyundai dealer.
o Before you replace a fuse or dis- connect a battery terminal, turnthe ignition key to the "LOCK" position or remove the ignitionkey. Never remove or replace the air bag related fuse(s) when the ignition key is in the "ON" posi-tion. The passenger's front airbag can be deactivated by the passenger's frontairbag ON/OFF switch (1) if a child restraint is installed on the front passenger's seat or if the frontpassenger's seat is unoccupied by a person. To ensure the safety of your child, thepassenger's front airbag must be deac- tivated when it should be necessary to install a rearward facing child seat onthe front passenger seat in exceptional circumstances. (1)
!WARNING:
The front air bag ON/OFF switch could turn by using a similar small rigid device. Always check the status of the front air bag ON/OFF switchand passenger's front air bag OFF indicator.

than 50 km (30 miles), the distance to empty digits (----) will blink untilmore fuel is added.

o The distance to empty can differ from the actual tripmeter accord- ing to driving conditions.

Pushing upwards on the levercauses the turn signals on the right side of the car to blink. As the turn is com- pleted, the lever will automatically re-turn to the center position and turn off the turn signals at the same time. If either turn signal indicator light blinksmore rapidly than usual, goes on but does not blink, or does not go on at all, there is a malfunction in the system.Check for a burned-out fuse or bulb or see your Hyundai dealer. 10. CD SCAN Button
o To playback the first 10 seconds of
each track, press the CD SCAN button more than 1 second.
o To playback the first 10 seconds of
each track in the selected folder,press the CD SCAN button within 1 second (MP3 CD only).
o Press the CD SCAN button again within 10 sec. when you have reachedthe desired track.
11. FILE SEARCH Knob (TUNE Select Knob)
o You can skip the track by turning the FILE SEARCH knob clockwise or counterclockwise.After selecting the desired track, press the FILE SEARCH knob to playback the track.If you do not press the FILE SEARCH knob within five seconds, the search will stop. 12. DIRECTORY SEARCH

o You can move through the folder by pushing the DIR button to up ( ) anddown ( ). After moving the desired folder, press the FILE SEARCH knob to playbackthe selected folder. If you do not press the FILE SEARCH knob within five seconds, the searchwill stop.

9. REPEAT Button Repeats current song when the button is pressed for less than 0.8 second. Repeats current folder when the buttonis pressed for 0.8 second or longer. (If there is no folder, entire disc will be repeated.) 10. SCAN Play Button Plays first 10 seconds of each song in the DISC.To cancel the mode, press the key once again. 11. FOLDER Button Folder up/down operation.

1. If your car has an automatic transaxle,

1. Reduce your speed gradually, keep-
ing a straight line. Move cautiously off the road to a safe place.
2. Turn on your emergency flashers.
3. Try to start the engine again. If your
vehicle will not start, contact a Hyundai dealer or seek other quali- fied assistance.

IF THE ENGINE WILL NOT START
WARNING:
If the engine will not start, do not push or pull the car to start it. This could result in a collision or cause other damage. In addition, push orpull starting may cause the cata- lytic converter to be overloaded and create a fire hazard.

sure they are clean and tight.
3. Turn on the interior light. If the light dims or goes out when you operate the starter, the battery is discharged.
4. Check the starter connections to be sure they are securely tightened.
5. Do not push or pull the vehicle to start it. See instructions for "Jump Starting on the following pages".

o If the engine stalls at a crossroad orcrossing, set the shift lever in the N(Neutral) position and then push the vehicle to a safe place.
o If your vehicle has a manual transaxle not equipped with the ignition lockswitch, the vehicle can move for-ward by shifting to the 2 (second) or 3 (third) gear and then turning the starter without depressing the clutchpedal.
