Key Fob
The Key Fob operates the ignition switch. It also contains
the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter and an
emergency key, which stores in the rear of the Key Fob.
NOTE:If your vehicle is equipped with Passive Entry/
Keyless Go (PEKG), the Key Fob will also contain a
special receiver that communicates with the vehicle.
Passive Entry/Keyless Go Key Fobs can only be used
with Passive Entry/Keyless Go equipped vehicles. Non-
Passive Entry/Keyless Go Key Fobs can only be used
with Non-Passive Entry/Keyless Go vehicles.
The emergency key allows for entry into the vehicle
should the battery in the vehicle or the RKE transmitter
go dead. The emergency key is also for locking the glove
box. You can keep the emergency key with you when
valet parking. To remove the emergency key, slide the mechanical latch
at the top of the Key Fob sideways with your thumb and
then pull the key out with your other hand.
NOTE:
You can insert the double-sided emergency key
into the lock cylinders with either side up.

Interior Lights
The interior lights come on when a door is opened.
To protect the battery, the interior lights will turn off
automatically 10 minutes after the ignition is placed in
the OFF position. This will occur if the interior lights
were switched on manually or are on because a door isopen. This includes the glove box light, but not the trunk
light. To restore interior light operation, either place the
ignition in the ON position or cycle the light switch.
Dimmer Control
The dimmer control is part of the
headlight switch and is located on the
left side of the instrument panel. With
the parking lights or headlights on,
rotating the dimmer control upward
will increase the brightness of the in-
strument panel lights and, if so
equipped, the lighting in the door map pockets and
cupholders.
Dome Light Position
Rotate the dimmer control completely upward to the
second detent to turn on the interior lights. The interior
lights will remain on when the dimmer control is in this
position.
