To play the radio, press the FM, AM
or button. Press the CD
button to switch to the disc mode (if
a disc is loaded). Press the AUX
button to switch the audio mode
between the USB or
Audio.
Select normal play to turn either
scan f eature of f . Pressing either side
of the CATEGORY or SKIP bar also
turns off the feature. This f unction
samples the f irst f ile in each f older in
the order they are stored. To
activate the folder scan feature,
press and release the SCAN button
repeatedly. You will see F-SCAN in
the display. You will get a 10 second
sampling of the f irst f ile in each
folder.PressandholdtheSCAN
button to get out of the f older scan
mode and play the last f ile sampled.
You can also select the folder scan
f eature f rom the menu items with
the selector knob (see page ).
You can disconnect the USB f lash
memory device at any time even if
the USB mode is selected on the
audio system. Make sure to f ollow
the USB f lash memory device’s
instructions when you remove it. If you reconnect the same USB f lash
memory device, the system will
begin playing where it lef t of f . You can also press the MODE
buttononthesteeringwheelto

The VOL button adjusts the volume
up ( ) or down ( ). Press the top
or bottom of the button, hold it until
the desired volume is reached, then
release it.
Three controls f or the audio system
are mounted in the steering wheel
hub. These let you control basic
f unctions without removing your
hand f rom the wheel. If you are listening to the radio, use
the CH button to change stations.
Each time you press the top ( ) of
the button, the system goes to the
next preset station on the band you
are listening to. Press the bottom
( ) to go back to the previous
preset station. If you press and hold
the CH button ( ) or ( ), the
system goes into the skip (seek)mode. It stops when it f inds a station
with a strong signal.
You will see the track/f ile number
and the elapsed time. If the disc has
text data or is compressed in MP3 or
WMA, you can also see any other
inf ormation (track title, f ile name,
f older name, etc.). If you are playing a disc, the system
skips to the beginning of the next
track (f ile in MP3 or WMA f ormat)
each time you press the top ( ) of
the CH button. Press the bottom
( ) to return to the beginning of the
current track/f ile. Press it twice to
return to the previous track/f ile.
The MODE button changes the
mode. Pressing the button
repeatedly selects FM1, FM2, AM,
or disc (if a disc(s) is loaded). On
models with XM Radio, you can also
select XM1 and XM2. If an iPod or a
USB f lash memory device is plugged
into the system, you can also select
AUX.

Try to reduce all background
noise. If the microphone picks up
voices other than yours,
commands may be misinterpreted.
Many commands can be spoken
together. For example, you can
say ‘‘Call 123-456-7890’’ or ‘‘Dial
Peter.’’
When HFL is in use, navigation
voice commands cannot be
recognized.
To change the volume level of
HFL, use the audio system volume
knob or the steering wheel volume
controls.

lane change. Always drive at a safe
speed f or the road and weather
conditions.
Always steer moderately
when you are braking hard. Severe
or sharp steering wheel movement
can still cause your vehicle to veer
into oncoming traffic or off the road. on loose or
uneven surfaces, such as gravel or
snow, than a vehicle without anti-
lock.
The VSA indicator will come on
alongwiththeABSindicator. Test your brakes as instructed on
page . If the brakes f eel normal,
drive slowly and have your vehicle
repaired by your dealer as soon as
possible. Avoid sudden hard braking
which could cause the rear wheels to
lock up and possibly lead to a loss of
control. If the ABS indicator and the brake
system indicator come on together,
and the parking brake is f ully
released, the EBD system may also

Crosswinds and air turbulence
caused by passing trucks can disrupt
your steering and cause the trailer to
sway. When being passed by a large
vehicle, keep a constant speed, and
steer straight ahead. Do not try to
make quick steering or braking
corrections.
Make sure to set the parking brake
whenstartingoff onanincline. If you must stop when f acing uphill,
use the f oot brake or parking brake.
Do not try to hold the vehicle in
placebypressingontheaccelerator,
as this can cause the automatic
transmission to overheat. If your vehicle has an automatic
transmission, when driving down
hills, reduce your speed and use the
S mode. You can also use the paddle
shifters to change the gear position.
Select third, second or f irst gear
depending on the vehicle speeds and
road condition. When going down a
steep hill, use second gear to provide
greater engine braking. Shif t down
to f irst gear when driving up steep
hills.
Do not ‘‘ride’’ the brakes, and
remember, it will take longer to slow
downandstopwhentowingatrailer. Always drive slowly and have
someone guide you when backing up.
Grip the of the steering wheel,
then turn the wheel to the left to get
the trailer to move to the lef t. Turn
the wheel to the right to move the
trailer to the right.Your vehicle is not designed to be
towed behind a motor home. If your
vehicle needs to be towed in an
emergency, see page . Follow all normal precautions when
parking, including f irmly setting the
parking brake and putting the
transmission in Park (automatic) or
in 1st or reverse (manual). Also,
place wheel chocks at each of the
trailer’s tires.

15 to 6 percent, the multi-inf ormation
display shows a ‘‘SERVICE DUE
SOON’’ message along with the
maintenance item code(s) indicating
themainandsubitemsrequiredat
thetimeof theoilchange.Referto

items. Pressing either INFO button ( / )
switches the display f rom the
message to another display. Once
you switch the display, this message
will go of f .
Along with the message, the system
message indicator comes on (see
page ).
The message appears on the multi-
inf ormation display each time you
turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position.
This message reminds you that your
vehicle will soon be due f or
scheduled maintenance.
Press the SEL/RESET button on the
steering wheel repeatedly to select
the engine oil lif e inf ormation. Along
with the ‘‘OIL LIFE’’ message, you
will see the percentage of the
remaining engine oil lif e and the
maintenance item codes on the
multi-inf ormation display.
