On Diesel vehicles, the fuel
fi l l e r n e c k i n c o r p o r a t e s a m i s -
fuel prevention device which
p r e v e n t s fi l l i n g w i t h p e t r o l .
This equipment will become avail-
able during the year.

Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Engine
autodiagnosis system fi x e d . The emission control system
has a fault. This lamp should switch off when the
engine is started. If it does not switch off, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer urgently.
fl a s h i n g .
The engine management
system has a fault. Risk of destruction of the catalytic convertor.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low fuel
level fi x e d w i t h t h e n e e d l e
in the red zone. W h e n i t fi r s t c o m e s o n t h e r e
remains approximately
6 litres of fuel in the tank.
At this point, you begin to
use the fuel reserve. Refuel as soon as possible to avoid
running out of fuel.
This warning lamp will come on every
time the ignition is switched on, until a
s u f fi c i e n t a d d i t i o n o f f u e l i s m a d e .
Fuel tank capacity: approximately
60 litres .
Never continue to drive until you run out
of fuel, as this could damage the emission
control and injection systems.
Maximum
coolant
temperature fi x e d w i t h t h e n e e d l e
in the red zone. The temperature of the
cooling system is too high. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Wait until the engine has cooled down
before topping up the level, if necessary.
If the problem persists, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil
pressure fi x e d . There is a fault with the
engine lubrication system. Stop as soon it is safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.
Dynamic
stability control
(ESP/ASR) fl a s h i n g .
The ESP/ASR regulation is
active. The system optimises traction and
improves the directional stability of
the vehicle.
fi x e d . Unless it has been
deactivated with the indicator
lamp on the button on, the
ESP/ASR system is faulty. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

from the lock until the cap is

Opening the cap may trigger an in-
rush of air. This vacuum, which is
c o m p l e t e l y n o r m a l , i s c a u s e d b y t h e
sealing of the fuel system.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres. T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
the engine must be switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
When refuelling is complete:
p u t t h e c a p b a c k i n p l a c e ,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fi l l e r fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue af-
ter the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Operating fault
A malfunction of the fuel gauge is indi-
c a t e d b y t h e r e t u r n t o z e r o o f t h e f u e l
gauge needle.

Refuelling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fi l l e r
fl a p r e m i n d s y o u o f t h e t y p e o f f u e l t o b e
used according to your engine.
M o r e t h a n 5 l i t r e s o f f u e l m u s t b e a d d -
e d i n o r d e r t o b e r e g i s t e r e d b y t h e f u e l
gauge. When the low fuel level is
reached, this warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
p a n e l , a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n
a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e
in the multifunction screen. When the
l a m p fi r s t c o m e s o n , t h e r e i s approxi-
mately
6 litres of fuel remaining.
U n t i l s u f fi c i e n t f u e l h a s b e e n a d d e d , t h i s
warning lamp appears every time the
i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , a c c o m p a n i e d b y
a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e . W h e n
d r i v i n g , t h i s a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d m e s s a g e
are repeated with increasing frequency,
as the fuel level drops towards "0" .
You must refuel to avoid run-
ning out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer
also to the "Checks" section.
