Warning lamps
When the engine is running or the vehicle is being driven, the switching on of one of the following warning lamps indicates
a fault which requires action on the part of the driver.
Any fault resulting in the switching on of a warning lamp must be investigated further by reading the associated message on
the multifunction screen.
If you encounter any problems, do not hesitate to contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
STOP
fi x e d , a l o n e o r
associated with
another warning lamp, accompanied by an
audible signal and a
message on the screen. Illumination of this warning
lamp is associated with a
serious braking system,
power steering, engine
lubrication or cooling system
fault or a punctured tyre. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so as
there is a risk that the engine will cut out
while driving.
Park, switch off the ignition and call a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Service temporarily.
A minor fault has occurred
f o r w h i c h t h e r e i s n o s p e c i fi c
warning lamp.
Identify the fault by reading the message
shown in the screen, such as, for example:
- the closing of the doors, boot or bonnet,
- the engine oil level,
- the screenwash level,
- the remote control battery,
- the tyre pressures,
- saturation of the particle emission
fi l t e r ( D i e s e l ) .
For any other faults, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
fi x e d . A major fault has occurred

warning lamp. Identify the fault by reading the
message shown on the screen and
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

message on the risk of blockage of the PEF. This indicates the start of sat-
uration of the particle emis-
s i o n s fi l t e r . A s s o o n a s t r a f fi c c o n d i t i o n s a l l o w ,
r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a
speed of at least 35 mph (60 km/h) until
the service warning lamp goes off.
fi x e d . This indicates the low level in
the Diesel additive reservoir. Have the level topped up by a PEUGEOT
dealer as soon as possible.

Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Battery
charge fi x e d . The battery charging circuit
has a fault (dirty or loose
terminals, slack or cut
alternator belt, ...). The warning lamp should go off when
the engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Door(s)
open
fi x e d i f t h e s p e e d i s
below 6 mph (10 km/h).
A door, the boot, the lower
tailgate or the bonnet (with
alarm only) is still open. Close the door or boot. fi x e d a n d a c c o m p a n i e d
by an audible signal if the speed is above 6 mph (10 km/h).
Seat belt not
fastened/
unfastened fi x e d t h e n fl a s h i n g
accompanied by an increasing audible signal. The driver and/or the front
passenger has not fastened
or has unfastened their seat
belt.
Pull the strap then insert the tongue in
the buckle.
Airbags temporarily.
This lamp comes on for a
few seconds when you turn
on the ignition, then switches
off. This lamp should switch off when the
engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
fi x e d . One of the airbag or seat belt
pretensioner systems has a
fault. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Water in
Diesel fi x e d . T h e d i e s e l fi l t e r c o n t a i n s
water. Risk of damage to the injection system
on Diesel engines.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer without
delay.

BONNET
Push the exterior safety catch B to
the left and raise the bonnet.
Unclip the stay C from its housing.
Fix the stay in the notch to hold the
bonnet open. Closing
Take the stay out of the support
notch.
Clip the stay in its housing.
Lower the bonnet and release it at
the end of its travel.
Pull on the bonnet to check that it is
secured correctly.
Opening
Open the front left door.
Pull the interior bonnet release lever A , lo-
cated at the bottom of the door aperture.
The location of the interior
bonnet release lever prevents
opening of the bonnet while
the front left door is closed.
When the engine is hot, handle the
exterior safety catch and the bonnet
stay with care (risk of burns).

RUNNING OUT OF FUEL (DIESEL)
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a n H D I e n -
gine, the fuel system must be primed if
you run out of fuel; refer to the engine
compartment view on the "Diesel en-
gine" page.
I f t h e e n g i n e d o e s n o t s t a r t fi r s t t i m e ,
don't keep trying.
Operate the priming pump again, then
the starter motor. 1.6 litre Turbo HDI engine
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i -
tres of diesel.
Open the bonnet.
If necessary, unclip the styling cover
for access to the priming pump.
Squeeze and release the priming
pump repeatedly until resistance is
felt (there may be resistance at the
fi r s t p r e s s ) .
Operate the starter until the engine
starts (if the engine does not start at
t h e fi r s t a t t e m p t , w a i t a r o u n d 1 5 s e c -
onds before trying again).
If the engine does not start after a
few attempts, operate the priming
pump again then start the engine.
Clip the styling cover back in place.
Close the bonnet. 2 litre Turbo HDI engine
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i t r e s
of Diesel.
Open the bonnet.
Unclip the style cover for access to
the priming pump.
Slacken the bleed screw.
Squeeze and release the priming
pump repeatedly until fuel appears
in the transparent pipe with the
green connector.
Retighten the bleed screw.
Operate the starter until the engine
starts.
Put the style cover back in position
and clip it in place.
Close the bonnet.

cation and tracing of your vehicle. I f t h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e s a r e
too low, this increases fuel
consumption.
T h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e s m u s t
be checked when the tyres are cold, at least once a month.
A. V e h i c l e I d e n t i fi c a t i o n N u m b e r
(VIN) under the bonnet.
This number is engraved on the bodywork near the damper support.
B. V e h i c l e i d e n t i fi c a t i o n N u m b e r
(VIN) on the windscreen lower
c r o s s m e m b e r .
This number is indicated on a self- adhesive label which is visible
through the windscreen.
C. Manufacturer's label.
The VIN is indicated on a self- d e s t r o y i n g l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e d o o r
aperture, on the right-hand side.
D. Tyre/paint label.
T h i s l a b e l i s a f fi x e d t o t h e d o o r aperture, on the driver's side.
It bears the following information:
- t h e t y r e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e s w i t h a n d without load,
- the wheel rim and tyre sizes,
- the brands of tyre recommended by the manufacturer,
- t h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e o f t h e s p a r e wheel,
- the paint colour code.
