This lamp comes on for
a few seconds when you
turn on the ignition, then
goes off. This lamp should go off when the engine is
started.

airbags has a fault. The airbags may not be deployed in the event

circuit has a fault (dirty or
loose terminals, slack or
cut alternator belt, ...). The warning lamp should go off when the engine
is started.

Electric power
steering fi x e d . The electric power
steering has a fault. Drive carefully at reduced speed.

VENTILATION
Recommendations for use
If the interior temperature
remains very high after
a prolonged period parked in the
s u n , fi r s t v e n t i l a t e t h e p a s s e n g e r
compartment for a few minutes.
For an even air distribution, make
sure that you do not block the outside
air inlet grille, the vents, the air
passages and the air outlets to the
footwells.
Ensure that the passenger
c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r , l o c a t e d b e l o w
the windscreen, in the engine
compartment, is in good condition.
H a v e t h e fi l t e r e l e m e n t s r e p l a c e d
regularly. If you drive in dusty
conditions, change them twice as
often.
Operate the air conditioning system for
5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a month,
to keep it in perfect working order.
In order to ensure that your air
conditioning system continues to
operate correctly, you are advised to
have it checked regularly.
The condensation created by the air
c o n d i t i o n i n g r e s u l t s i n a fl o w o f w a t e r
under the vehicle when stationary
which is perfectly normal.
If the system does not produce
cold air, do not use it and contact
a P E U G E O T d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d
workshop.

system automatically acts on the
brake of one or more wheels and on
the engine to put the vehicle back on
course, within the limits of the laws
of physics.

CHECKS
CHECKING THE LEVELS
There are two marks
on the dipstick:
A = maximum
I f y o u fi l l p a s t t h i s

Never allow the level
to fall below this mark.
Dipstick
Oil change
According to the information given in
the servicing booklet. Changing the brake fluid
T h e b r a k e fl u i d m u s t b e c h a n g e d a t
the intervals stated, according to the
manufacturer's servicing schedule.

m a n u f a c t u r e r , w h i c h f u l fi l D O T 4
standards.
Windscreen wash level
For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we would advise that you
use products recommended by your
manufacturer.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a

Oil viscosity grade
In all cases, the oil selected must
meet the manufacturer's require-
ments. Cooling system
Used oil
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil
with the skin.
B r a k e fl u i d i s h a r m f u l t o h e a l t h a n d
very corrosive.
To maintain the reliability of
engines and emission control
systems, the use of additives
in engine oil is prohibited. S l a c k e n t h e c a p b y 1 / 4 o f a
turn to release the pressure
to prevent any risk of scald-
ing. When the pressure has
dropped, remove the cap and top up
the level. O n l y u s e t h e fl u i d r e c o m -
mended by the manufacturer.
Otherwise, you risk seriously
damaging your engine.
Do not dispose of used oil,
b r a k e fl u i d o r c o o l a n t i n t o
drains or into the ground.
Empty the used oil into the
containers provided for this
purpose in the PEUGEOT dealer
n e t w o r k o r a t a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p
(France) or at an authorised waste
disposal site.
Oil level
Check the level regularly and top up
between changes. The maximum oil
consumption is 0.5 litre per 600 miles
(1 000 km).
Check the level with the vehicle level,
engine cold, using the dipstick.
When the engine is warm, the tem-
perature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan can op-
erate with the ignition key removed
and because the cooling system is
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
carrying out any work.
