INSTRUMENTS and CONTROLS
Deactivating
the
passenger's airbag fi x e d . The passenger's airbag
control is set to the
OFF
position.
The passenger's front
airbag is deactivated.
In this case you can
install a "rear facing"
child seat. Set the control to the
ON position to activate the
p a s s e n g e r ' s f r o n t a i r b a g . I n t h i s c a s e , d o n o t fi t a
child seat in the rear-facing position.
Battery
charge fi x e d . The battery charging
circuit has a fault (dirty or
loose terminals, slack or
cut alternator belt, ...). The warning lamp should go off when the engine
is started.
If it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer
o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
Electric power
steering fi x e d . The electric power
steering has a fault. Drive carefully at reduced speed.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or
q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
Driver's
seat belt not fastened
(according to version) fl a s h i n g , t h e n
above 9 mph (15 km/h),
accompanied
by an audible signal. The driver has not
fastened their seat belt.
Pull the strap then insert the tongue in the
buckle.
Emission
control
system fi x e d .
The emission control
system has a fault. This lamp should go off when the engine is started
.
If it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer
o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p w i t h o u t d e l a y .

AUDIO EQUIPMENT
On/Off
With the ignition key in
the accessories posi-
tion or with the ignition
on, press this button to
switch the audio equipment on or off.
After the engine has been switched
off, the audio equipment can only ope-
rate for approximately 30 minutes, to
prevent discharging of the battery.
Press the upper part
of this button several
times in succession to
increase the volume
of the audio equip-
ment or the lower part
of this button to de-
crease it.
Volume adjustment
Setting the clock Press this button seve-

sion to gain access
to the bass (BASS) ,
treble (TREB) , front/rear balance
(FAD) and left/right balance (BAL)
settings.

ment then press this
button.
The audio equipment controls enable
you to adjust the volume and the au-
dio settings.
To exit from the AUX source, press
AM/FM .
When using an MP3 player: increase
t h e v o l u m e o f t h e r a d i o s i g n i fi c a n t l y
(between 30 and 60) to obtain a satis-
factory playing volume.

SAFETY
For the front, lateral and
curtain airbags to be fully
effective, observe the
following safety rules:
W e a r a c o r r e c t l y a d j u s t e d s e a t b e l t .
Sit in a normal upright position.
Do not leave anything between the
occupants and the airbags (child,
a n i m a l , o b j e c t . . . ) . T h i s c o u l d h a m p e r
t h e o p e r a t i o n o f t h e a i r b a g s o r i n j u r e
the occupants.
A l l w o r k o n t h e a i r b a g s y s t e m s i s
strictly prohibited unless it is carried
o u t b y q u a l i fi e d p e r s o n n e l o f t h e
PEUGEOT dealer network or a
q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
A f t e r a n a c c i d e n t o r i f t h e v e h i c l e h a s
been stolen or broken into, have the
airbag systems checked. Front airbags
Do not drive holding the steering
wheel by its spokes or resting your
hands on the centre part of the
wheel.
Passengers must not place their feet
on the dashboard.
Smoke as little as possible;
deployment of the airbags can cause
b u r n s o r t h e r i s k o f i n j u r y f r o m a
cigarette or pipe.
Never remove or pierce the steering
wheel or hit it violently.
Curtain airbags
D o n o t fi x o r a t t a c h a n y t h i n g t o t h e
pillars or the roof. This could cause
i n j u r y t o t h e h e a d w h e n t h e c u r t a i n
a i r b a g i n fl a t e s .
The deployment of an airbag or
airbags is accompanied by a slight
emission of harmless smoke and
a noise due to the activation of the
pyrotechnic cartridge incorporated
in the system. This smoke is not
harmful but sensitive individuals may
experience some irritation.
The detonation noise may result in
a slight loss of hearing for a short
time.
Even if all of the precautions
m e n t i o n e d a r e o b s e r v e d , i n j u r y o r
slight burns to the head, chest or arms
when the airbag is deployed cannot
b e r u l e d o u t . I n d e e d , t h e b a g i n fl a t e s
almost instantly (approximately
3 0 m i l l i s e c o n d s ) t h e n d e fl a t e s w i t h i n
the same time discharging hot gas
via the openings provided for this
purpose.
This equipment will only operate
once. If a second impact occurs
(during the same or a subsequent
a c c i d e n t ) , t h e a i r b a g w i l l n o t i n fl a t e .
Lateral airbags
Only put approved covers on the
seats, these will not hamper the
i n fl a t i o n o f t h e l a t e r a l a i r b a g s . C o n t a c t
a P E U G E O T d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d
workshop.
D o n o t fi x o r a t t a c h a n y t h i n g t o t h e
front seat backs. This could cause
i n j u r y t o t h e c h e s t o r a r m s w h e n t h e
l a t e r a l a i r b a g i n fl a t e s .
Do not sit with the upper part of the
body any nearer to the door than
necessary.

Engine compartment fusebox
Unclip the cover, pressing on the
right on lug E , to gain access to
the fuses. Your vehicle's electrical
circuit is designed to operate
with standard or optional
equipment.
Before installing other electrical
equipment or accessories on your
vehicle, contact a PEUGEOT dealer
o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
The tweezer A and the replacement
fuses B a r e fi x e d a t t h e f r o n t o f t h e
box.
W h e n y o u h a v e fi n i s h e d , c l o s e t h e
cover very carefully. Some electrical accessories or the
w a y i n w h i c h t h e y a r e fi t t e d m a y h a v e
an adverse effect on the operation
of your vehicle (audio circuits,
control circuit and electrical charging
circuit).
PEUGEOT will not accept any re-
sponsibility for the costs incurred in
repairing your vehicle or for the mal-
functions resulting from the installa-
tion of auxiliary accessories which
were not supplied or recommended
by PEUGEOT and which were not
installed in accordance with its in-
structions, in particular in the case of
any equipment the consumption of
which exceeds 10 milliamps.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
BATTERY
Do not push the vehicle to
start the engine if you have a
"2 Tronic" gearbox.
Before disconnecting the
battery, you must wait for
2 minutes after switching off
the ignition.
Starting the vehicle from
another battery
-
Connect the red cable to the posi-
tive (+) terminals of the two batteries,
- connect the green or black cable to the negative (-) terminals of the
two batteries,
-
operate the starter, let the engine run,
- wait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables.
It is advisable to disconnect
the battery if the vehicle is
not to be used for a period of
more than one month.
The batteries contain harmful
substances such as sulphuric
acid and lead. They must
be discarded in accordance
with the provisions of the law and
must not, in any circumstances, be
discarded with household waste.
Take used batteries to an authorised
waste disposal site.
Charging the battery using
a battery charger
- Disconnect the battery,
- follow the instructions for use
given by the battery charger
manufacturer,
- reconnect starting with the negative (-) terminal,
- check that the terminals and connectors are clean. If they are
covered with sulphate (white or
greenish deposit), disconnect
them and clean them.

B. Slave battery Never disconnect a terminal when
the engine is running.
N e v e r c h a r g e a b a t t e r y w i t h o u t fi r s t
disconnecting the terminals.
Close the windows and doors before
disconnecting the battery.
After every reconnection of the
battery, switch on the ignition and wait
1 minute before starting to allow the
electronic systems to be initialised.
