Stop & Start The Stop & Star t system puts the engine temporarily on standby - STOP mode - during stops in the traffic (red lights, traffic jams, or other...). The engine restar ts automatically - START mode - as soon as y ou want to move off. The restar t takes place instantly, quickly and silently. Per fect for urban use, the Stop & Star t system reduce s fuel consumption and exhaust emissions as well as the noise level when stationary.
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
With the automatic gearbox system, for your comfor t during parking maoeuvres, STOP mode is not available for a few seconds after coming out of reverse gear. STOP mode does not affect the functionality of the vehicle, such as braking, power steering, for example.
Never refuel with the engine in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
The "ECO" warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel and the engine goes into standby:
- with a manual gearbox , at speeds below 12 mph (20 km/h), when you put the gear lever into neutral and release the clutch pedal, - with the 6-speed electronic gearbox system , at a speed below 5 mph (8 km/h),
when you press the brake pedal or put the gear lever into position N .
If your vehicle is fitted with the system, a time counter calculates the sum of the periods in STOP mode during a journey. It resets itself to zero every time the ignition is switched on with the key.
STOP mode is not invoked when: - the driver's door is open, - the driver's seat belt is not fastened, - the vehicle has not exceeded 6 mph (10 km/h) since the last engine start using the key, - the electric parking brake is applied or being applied, - the engine is needed to maintain a comfor table temperature in the passenger compar tment, - demisting is active, - some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance, ambient temperature...) where the engine is needed to assure control of a system.
Special cases:STOP mode unavailable
In this case, the "ECO" warning lamp flashes for a few seconds, then goes off. This operation is per fectly normal.

at every new star t using the key.
Reactivation
This system requires a specific battery with a special specification and technology (reference numbers available from a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop). Fitting a battery not listed by CITROËN introduces the risk of malfunction of the system. In the event of a malfunction with the system, the "ECO OFF" switch warning lamp flashes, then comes on continuously. have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop. In the event of a fault in STOP mode, the vehicle may stall. It is then necessary to switch off the ignition and star t the engine again using the key.
Operating fault Maintenance
Before working under the bonnet, deactivate the Stop & Star t system to avoid any risk of injury resulting from automatic operation of START mode.
The Stop & Star t system makes use of advanced technology. All work on this type of battery must be done only by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Press the "ECO OFF" switch again. The system is active again; this is confirmed
by the switch warning lamp going off and a message in the instrument panel.

Lane departure warning system
System which detects the involuntary crossing of longitudinal traffic lane markings on the ground (solid or broken line). Sensors, fitted below the front bumper, trigger a warning if the vehicle drifts over a lane marking (speed higher than 50 mph (80 km/h)). This system is par ticularly useful on motor ways
and main roads.
Activation
Press this button, the indicator lampcomes on.
The lane depar ture warning system cannot, in any circumstances, replace the need for vigilance and responsibility on the par t of the driver.
Deactivation
You are warned by the vibration of the driver's seat cushion: - on the right-hand side, if the marking on the ground has been crossed on the right, - on the left-hand side, if the marking on the
ground has been crossed on the left. No warning is transmitted while the direction indicator is active and for approximately20 seconds after the direction indicator is switched off. A warning may be transmitted if a direction marking (e.g. arrow) or non-standard marking (e.g. graffiti) is crossed.
Detection
Operating fault
The detection may be impeded: - if the sensors are dir ty (mud, snow...), - if the markings on the ground are worn, - if there is little contrast between the markings on the ground and the road sur face.
Press this button again, the indicator lamp goes off. The status of the system remains in the memory when the ignition is switched off.
In the event of a malfunction, the ser vice warning lamp comes on, accompanied by an audible signal and a message in the screen. Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Blind spot sensors
of the presence of another vehicle in the blind spot angle of their vehicle, as soon as this presents a potential danger.
Operation
This system is designed to improve safety when driving and is in no circumstances a substitute for the use of the interior rear view mirror and door mirrors. It is the driver's responsibility to constantly check the traffic, to ass es the distances and relative speeds of other vehicles and to predict their movements before de ciding whether to change lane. The blind spot sensor system can never replace the vigilance and responsibility of the driver.
On switching on the ignition, or engine running, press this button to activate the function; the warning lamp comes on.
Sensors fitted in the front and rear bumpers monitor obscured zones in the driver's field of vision.
A warning lamp appears in the door mirror on the side in question: - immediately, when being over taken, - after a delay of one second, when over taking another vehicle too slowly.

211Driving
No aler t will be given in the following situations: - in the presence of stationary objects (parked vehicles, barriers, street lamps,
road signs...), - with vehicles moving in the opposite direction, - driving on a sinuous road or a sharp corner,
The aler t is given by a warning lamp which comes on in the door mirror on the side in question as soon as a vehicle - car, lorry, cycle - is detected and the following conditions are fulfilled: - all the vehicles must be moving in the same direction, - the speed of your vehicle is between 6 and 75 mph (10 and 140 km/h), - the difference in speed between your vehicle and the other vehicles must be less than 9 mph (15 km/h), - the traffic must be flowing normally, - in the case of an over taking manoeuvre, if this is prolonged and the vehicle being over taken remains in the blind spot, - you are driving on a straight or lightly cur ved road, - your vehicle is not pulling a trailer, a
caravan...
- when over taking (or being over taken by) a very long vehicle (lorry, coach...) which is at the same time detected at the rear in the
blind spot angle and present in the driver's for ward field of vision, - in very heavy traffic: vehicles detected in front and behind are confused with a lorry or a stationary object, - when over taking quickly.

Operating fault
In the event of a fault, the warning lamp in the button flashes then goes off. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
The system may suffer temporary inter ference in cer tain weather conditions(rain, hail...). In par ticular, driving on a wet sur face or moving from a dry area to a wet area can cause false aler ts (the presence of a fog of water droplets in the blind spot angle is interpreted as a vehicle). In bad or wintry weather, ensure that the sensors are not covered by mud, ice or snow. Take care not to cover the warning zone in the door mirrors with adhesive labels or other objects. Do not stick labels or attach objects to
the front and rear bumpers; they may hamper the correct operation of the system.
To deactivate the system, press this button again; the warning lamp goes off. The state of the system remains in memory on switching off the ignition.
The system is automatically deactivated when towing with a towbar approved by CITROËN.

Parking space sensors
System which measures the parking space available between two vehicles or obstacles. It measures the size of the space and gives you information on: - the possibility of fitting into a free space,
depending on the dimensions of your vehicle and the distances needed for manoeuvring, - the level of difficulty of the manoeuvre to be per formed. The system does not measure spaces which
are clearly much smaller or larger than the size of the vehicle.
Displays in the instrument panel You have identified a parking space: Press button A to select the function. Operate the direction indicator on the side where the space is to be measured; a message is displayed to confirm that measurement is in progress. During measurement, go for ward the length of the space, at a speed less than 12 mph (approx. 20 km/h), to prepare for your manoeuvre. Once the measurement has been completed, the system informs you of the level of difficulty of the manoeuvre by a message in the multifunction screen
accompanied by an audible signal.
Operation
The parking space sensor function warning lamp can have two different states:
- on fixed: the function is selected by a press on control A . - off: the function is not selected,
