DRIVING On a steep descent or in the event
of sharp acceleration, the speed
limiter will not be able to prevent
t h e v e h i c l e f r o m e x c e e d i n g t h e p r o -
grammed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the
p e d a l s :
-
ensure that the mat is positioned
correctly,
- d o n o t fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o fanother.
Programming
Turn thumb wheel 1 to the "LIMIT"
p o s i t i o n : t h e s p e e d l i m i t e r m o d e
is selected but is not switched on
( P A U S E ) .
You do not have to switch the speed
limiter on in order to set the speed.
Exceeding the programmed speed
P r e s s i n g t h e a c c e l e r a t o r p e d a l t o e x c e e d t h e p r o g r a m m e d
speed will not have any effect unless you press the pedal
fi r m l y past the point of resistance .
The speed limiter is deactivated temporarily and the pro-
g r a m m e d s p e e d , w h i c h i s s t i l l d i s p l a y e d , fl a s h e s .
Returning to the programmed speed, by means of int entional
or unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, autom atically can-
c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g o f t h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d .
Leaving limiter mode
Turn thumb wheel 1 to the "0" p o s i t i o n : t h e s p e e d l i m i t e r
mode is deselected. The display returns to the distance
recorder. Operating fault
In the event of a speed limiter malfunc-
tion, the speed is cleared resulting in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e d a s h e s .
Have the system checked by a CITROËN
dealer.
Set the speed value by pressing button 2 or 3 ( e . g . : 5 5 m p h
( 9 0 k m / h ) ) .
You can then change the programmed speed using but tons 2
and 3 :
- b y + o r - 1 m p h ( k m / h ) = s h o r t p r e s s ,
- b y + o r - 5 m p h ( k m / h ) = l o n g p r e s s ,
- i n s t e p s o f + o r - 5 m p h ( k m / h ) = m a i n t a i n e d p r e s s .
Switch the speed limiter on by pressing button 4 .
Switch the speed limiter off by pressing button 4 : t h e
d i s p l a y c o n fi r m s t h a t i t h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f ( P A U S E ) .
Switch the speed limiter back on by pressing button 4
again.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and non-
slippery.
Apply the parking brake, switch off
t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r t o
lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
You must ensure that the occu-
pants get out of the vehicle and
wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle
r a i s e d u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e
stand.
Removing the wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 (with
a l l o w w h e e l s o n l y ) .
Fit the security socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
b o l t ( i f y o u r v e h i c l e h a s t h e m ) .
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underbody, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
p u n c t u r e d ) w h e e l e a s i l y .
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.
