Note
•Please note that this Owner's Manual describes only the SEAT Media
System navigation system and its components. For more information about
the features and equipment fitted on your vehicle, please refer to its owner's
manual.•Some of the equipment shown is found only in certain model versions or
its option equipment.Switching on and offAutomatic switching on and offThe navigation system switches on automatically after you turn the ignition
on . When you remove your key from the ignition lock , the navigation system
will automatically switch off.
What happens when it is switched on?
When the system is switched on, the start screen appears. Then the last
selected main function is switched on automatically. The last selected
audio/video source is automatically switched on. What happens when it is switched off?
When the equipment is switched off, the display darkens and the audio
source is silenced. Settings made are stored.
Note
The display can be switched off in the SETUP menu

ating mode selected remains on.Switching on and off manually
The navigation system can also be turned on and off manu-
ally if necessary.– Briefly press the ON/OFF button ⇒fig. 2 to activate the naviga-
tion system.

– Press and hold the ON/OFF button to switch the navigation
system off.The navigation system can also be turned on and off manually if necessary. If
the navigation system was switched on in this way with the ignition key
removed, it will remain available for about thirty minutes.
If the system was switched off manually, it will not be switched on again auto-
matically the next time the ignition is turned on.
Note
To avoid discharging the battery, the navigation system should not be left
switched on for unnecessary long periods with the engine off.
Opening and closing the displayThe display must be opened to access the drives located
behind it.

Working with the alphanumeric keyboardSummaryThe alphanumeric keyboard automatically appears in the display of the navi-
gation system when it is possible or necessary to enter numbers or letters.
Depending on the system mode, the option for entering numbers ( ⇒fig. 19 )
or letters ( ⇒fig. 20 ) appears in the display. If necessary, you can also switch

– Select the desired letters, numbers or characters in the keyboard
display using the selector arrow by rotating the control knob
⇒ fig. 21 and ⇒fig. 22.
– To confirm the entry, press the control knob after each selection of a letter, number of character. – Select
OK to close out the entry ⇒fig. 21 and ⇒fig. 22 .
Deleting characters
– With the selection arrow, select Del by rotating the control
knob ⇒fig. 21 and ⇒fig. 22 .
– Press the control knob. The last character entered in the entry field will be deleted.
In some cases (such as in the navigation system*) the selection of letters is
limited by logical exclusion.
If you have entered part of a city in the alphanumeric keyboard display and
you have already recognised the desired city in the display list, you can shift
directly to the city list by keeping the control knob pressed down.

64Navigation destinations* that you set in the directory as a top destination
⇒ page 115 are displayed in the main navigation menu under the “Start
route guidance” function.
Using the (directory) button, you can call up all entries with and
without a stored navigation destination*. Through the Load from directory *
function, ⇒page 118 you can call up all entries with stored navigation
destination.Creating a new entry in the directory
–Press the ⇒page 9 function button.
– Select New entry ⇒ page 63, fig. 78 .
– Select Surname ⇒ fig. 79 and enter a name using the alphanu-
meric keyboard.
– Select OK in the alphanumeric keyboard to confirm the entry.
– Select additional data fields and enter the desired data ⇒fig. 80 .A name must first be entered. All other fields are “greyed out” and cannot be
selected ⇒fig. 79 . Once you have entered a name, you can enter the
remaining data
Selecting a text field automatically activates an alphanumeric keyboard that
allows letters and numbers to be entered.
The entries in the directory are stored automatically.
When you have created a directory card, press the button to create
the next next entry.

Searching a directory entry
Directory entries are located by surname.– Press the ⇒page 9 function button.
–Select Find entry ⇒ fig. 81.
– Enter the name you are looking for ⇒page 20 over the alphanu-
meric keyboard.The entries found will be displayed in a list. They can also be subsequently
modified ⇒page 65.

Editing a directory entry–Press the ⇒page 9 function button.
– Select Find entry or Show list ⇒ page 63, fig. 78 .
– Search and select the entry that is to be changed ⇒ fig. 82 and
