SEAT maintenance programme7
SEAT maintenance programmeGeneral informationThis maintenance programme will inform you of the work to carry out regularly
on your vehicle in order to ensure the safety, reliability and durability
required.
Using the “vehicle identification” data or the data contained in this docu-
ment, the correct spare parts your vehicle could require in case of repairs are
specified, even after many years from the initial purchase.
We recommend that you keep this maintenance programme with the vehicle
documents. The inspection receipts are one of the essential requirements for
exercising your rights under warranty.
The maintenance programme shows the date of delivery, and this indicates
the starting date of the vehicle warranty.Concepts of the SEAT serviceLongLife Services or inspection services by time or mileage?Depending on the technical characteristics of the vehicle, the LongLife
Service or the inspection service is selected. If the LongLife Service is not
desired, the inspection service can be selected.
Your authorised SEAT Service Centre is able to advise on the service mode
suited to your vehicle and will provide information of whether there is any
work required by law to be carried out on the vehicle. Each Inspection Ser vice, as well as any additional operation required already
has a pre-established work time. This will allow you to know the total cost of
the service beforehand.
The authorised SEAT Service Centre network is equipped with modern work-
shop technology and well-trained specialists. Many SEAT Service Centres
offer different service packages at special prices
Important information relating to the service concept is given on the
following pages.
The information described here is correct at the time of going to print. Modi-
fications may be necessary for technical reasons
Note
The cost of the SEAT inspection service may vary, depending on the vehicle
type, equipment fitted, additional work and statutory tests. Your authorised
SEAT Service Centre can advise you of the costs.Adverse conditionsThe Service Centre “service advisor” will inform you of any necessary addi-
tional work within the intervals defined by the Inspection Service, according
to the conditions and environment in which the vehicle is used. For example,
an oil change where the vehicle is used only for frequent short journeys or is
subject to extreme temperatures. Likewise, when the vehicle is used in dusty
conditions, dust and pollen filter cartridges must be changed more often and
the timing belt must be checked.

Other services available
14Other services availableLegal Inspection ServiceThe legal inspections must be carried out at the intervals
prescribed. Many countries have legal requirements obliging owners to have their vehicle
tested at specified intervals for safety for the user and for other traffic, as well
as ensuring that vehicle exhaust emissions meet the countries' regulations.
These revisions must be overseen by officially certified centres.
Your Authorised Ser vice Centre can advise of the inspections required by law,
and can check your vehicle in the course of an Inspection Service. This will
save you both time and money.
The Authorised Service Centre can also carry out the inspections required by
law at the client's request.
Even if you do not wish to take advantage of this service and decide to take
your car to an officially certified centre for this check, we recommend that you
speak to the person in charge of your Authorised Service Centre first.
This person will be able to inform you of any points that require attention so
that your car does not fail the test and have to be re-tested.Approved spare partsAll parts of your vehicle have been approved by SEAT, especially those parts
on which your safety depends. For this reason, the parts used in the
Programmed Inspection Services or in any vehicle repair must correspond
exactly to the manufacturer-defined requirements. The approved SEAT spare parts have been designed especially for your vehicle. For this reason, we
recommend that Genuine approved SEAT spares are always used.
In the Authorised SEAT Service Centres you will find the most important
approved spare parts. If in an exceptional case, the necessary parts are not in
stock, they can, in general, be obtained swiftly.
The SEAT Service Centres in the EU provide a 24 month warranty
1) for
Approved Spare parts from the date they are fitted or sold. It is therefore
advisable to retain the original invoice from the Authorised Service Centre as
proof of the existing warranty.
More information about this may be obtained from your Authorised Service
Centre.
Approved SEAT exchange partsThe approved SEAT exchange parts, conforming to the manufacturer’s
requirements, constitute an additional service at your disposal, offering you
the possibility to replace entire assemblies, the most common being: the
lightened engine, gearboxes, cylinder heads, control units, electrical
elements, etc.
Of course these are Approved parts and, as they have the same class as the
manufacturer parts, they share the same SEAT approved spare parts warranty.
However, these parts are considerably cheaper as they are factory-recondi-
tioned used parts. Keep the invoice for the approved SEAT exchange parts as
proof of the start of the existing warranty.1)The warranty is not available for all export markets. For more information, please ask
your Authorised SEAT Service Centre.
