CRUISE CONTROL
System which automatically maintains
the speed of the vehicle at the value
programmed by the driver, without any
action on the accelerator pedal.
The cruise control is switched on
manually: it requires a minimum vehicle
s p e e d o f 2 5 m p h ( 4 0 k m / h ) a n d t h e e n -
gaging:
- o f f o u r t h g e a r o n t h e m a n u a l g e a r b o x ,
- of second gear on the electronic gear c o n t r o l g e a r b o x o r a u t o m a t i c g e a r -
b o x , i n s e q u e n t i a l d r i v i n g m o d e ,
- of position A on the electronic gear
c o n t r o l g e a r b o x o r D on the auto-
m a t i c g e a r b o x . The controls of this system are grouped
together on lever

The cruise control cannot, in any
circumstances, replace the need
to respect speed limits, nor can it
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver.
The cruise control is switched off manu-
ally or by pressing the brake or clutch
pedal or on triggering of the ESP system
for safety reasons.
I t i s p o s s i b l e t o e x c e e d t h e p r o g r a m m e d
speed temporarily by pressing the ac-
celerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed value.

REAR PARKING SENSORS
S y s t e m c o n s i s t i n g o f f o u r p r o x i m i t y s e n -
sors, located in the rear bumper.
This detects any obstacle (person, ve-
h i c l e , t r e e , g a t e , e t c . ) b e h i n d t h e v e h i c l e ,
e x c e p t o b s t a c l e s l o c a t e d j u s t b e l o w t h e
bumper. A n o b j e c t , s u c h a s a s t a k e , a r o a d -
works cone or any other similar
o b j e c t m a y b e d e t e c t e d a t t h e b e -
ginning of the manoeuvre, but may
no longer be detected when the
vehicle comes close to it.
The parking sensor system can-
not, in any circumstances, take
the place of the vigilance and re-
sponsibility of the driver. Activation
The system is activated as soon as re-
verse gear is engaged, accompanied
b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l . T h e p r o x i m i t y i n -
formation is given by:
- an audible signal, which becomes
more rapid as the vehicle approaches the obstacle.
- a graphic on the multifunction screen, with blocks which become
increasingly closer to the vehicle. When the distance between the rear of
the vehicle and the obstacle is less than
thirty centimetres, the audible signal be-
comes continuous and the "Danger" sym-
bol appears on the multifunction screen.
On completion of the manoeuvre, when
y o u e x i t r e v e r s e g e a r , t h e s y s t e m b e -
comes inactive.
Programming
You can activate or deactivate the
system by means of the multifunction
s c r e e n c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u . T h e s y s t e m
state is memorised when switching off
the ignition.
For more information on access to the
parking assistance menu, refer to ve-
h i c l e c o n fi g u r a t i o n i n t h e " M u l t i f u n c t i o n
screens" section corresponding to your
screen.
The system will be deactivated auto-
matically when towing a trailer or when
a b i c y c l e c a r r i e r i s fi t t e d ( v e h i c l e fi t t e d
with a towbar or bicycle carrier recom-
m e n d e d b y P E U G E O T ) .
Operating faults If there is an operating fault,
when reverse gear is engaged
this warning lamp comes on on
the instrument panel, accompa-
n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l ( s h o r t b e e p )
and a message on the multifunction
screen.
In bad or wintry weather, ensure that
the sensors are not covered with mud,
frost or snow.

AUDIBLE AND VISUAL FRONT AND REAR PARKING SENSORS
S y s t e m c o n s i s t i n g o f f o u r p r o x i m i t y
sensors, installed in the front and rear
bumpers.
It detects any obstacle (person, vehicle,
t r e e , b a r r i e r . . . ) l o c a t e d i n f r o n t o f a n d
b e h i n d t h e v e h i c l e , e x c e p t f o r o b s t a c l e s
located immediately below the bumper. The parking sensors are
switched on :
- by engaging reverse gear,
- a t a s p e e d b e l o w 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) i n forward gear.
This is accompanied by an audible signal
a n d / o r d i s p l a y i n g o f t h e v e h i c l e o n t h e
multifunction screen.
A n o b j e c t , s u c h a s a s t a k e , a r o a d -
works cone or any other similar
o b j e c t m a y b e d e t e c t e d a t t h e s t a r t
of the manoeuvre but may no lon-
ger be detected when the vehicle
moves nearer to it. T h e p r o x i m i t y i n f o r m a t i o n i s i n d i c a t e d b y :
- an audible signal which becomes
more rapid as the vehicle approach-
es the obstacle,
- a diagram on the multifunction screen, with blocks which move
closer to the vehicle.
The obstacle is located in relation to the
emission of the audible signal by the
speakers; front or rear and right or left.
When the distance between the vehicle
a n d t h e o b s t a c l e i s l e s s t h a n a p p r o x i -
mately thirty centimetres, the audible
s i g n a l b e c o m e s c o n t i n u o u s a n d / o r t h e
"Danger" symbol appears, depending
on the multifunction screen version.
The parking sensor system cannot,

The parking sensors are
switched off :
- w h e n y o u e x i t r e v e r s e g e a r ,
- when the speed is higher than 6 mph ( 1 0 k m / h ) i n f o r w a r d g e a r ,
- when the vehicle has been station- ary for more than three seconds in
forward gear.

CHECKS
CHECKING LEVELS
Check all of these levels regularly and
top them up if necessary, unless other-
wise indicated.
I f a l e v e l d r o p s s i g n i fi c a n t l y , h a v e t h e
corresponding system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer. Brake fluid level
In addition, as the cooling system is
pressurised, wait at least one hour after
switching off the engine before carrying
out any work.
To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew
the cap by two turns to allow the pres-
sure to drop. When the pressure has
dropped, remove the cap and top up
the level.
Oil level The reading will only be correct
if the vehicle is on level ground
and the engine has been off for
more than 15 minutes.
The check is carried out either
when the ignition is switched on using
the oil level indicator on the instrument
panel, or using the dipstick. T h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l s h o u l d b e
close to the "MAX" mark. If it is
not, check the brake pad wear.
C h a n g i n g t h e fl u i d
Refer to the Warranty and Maintenance
Record for details of the interval for this
operation.
Power steering fluid level T h e p o w e r s t e e r i n g fl u i d l e v e l
should be close to the "MAX"
mark. Unscrew the cap, with the
engine cold, to check the level. Screenwash and headlamp
wash fluid
I n t h e c a s e o f v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h
headlamp washers, the mini-
m u m l e v e l o f t h i s fl u i d i s i n d i -
cated by an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction screen.
Top up the level when you stop the ve-
hicle.
Engine oil change
Refer to the Warranty and Maintenance
Record for details of the interval for this
operation.
In order to maintain the reliability of the
engine and emission control system,
the use of additives in the engine oil is
prohibited.
O i l s p e c i fi c a t i o n
The oil must correspond to your engine
and conform to the manufacturer's re-
commendations. F l u i d s p e c i fi c a t i o n

manufacturer's recommendations and
f u l fi l t h e D O T 4 s t a n d a r d s .
Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be
changed.
F l u i d s p e c i fi c a t i o n
For optimum cleaning and to avoid
f r e e z i n g , t h i s fl u i d m u s t n o t b e t o p p e d
up with or replaced with water.
Coolant level
The coolant level should be
close to the "MAX" mark but
should never exceed it.
When the engine is warm, the tempera-
ture of the coolant is regulated by the fan.
This can operate with the ignition off.

p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r , t h e f a n m a y
operate after the vehicle has been
s w i t c h e d o f f , e v e n i f t h e e n g i n e i s

The coolant must conform to the manu-
facturer's recommendations.
When working under the bonnet,
take care, as certain areas of the
engine may be extremely hot (risk
of burns).

a sensor. The punctured wheel
must be repaired by a PEUGEOT
dealer. Putting the wheel back in place
Store the corresponding tools in the
b o x a n d c l o s e t h e c o v e r .

centre the spare wheel on it.
Position the black plastic centring
cone (on the steel or "space-saver"
t y p e w h e e l o n l y ) .
P a s s t h e h o o k i n t o t h e b o x c o v e r .
R a i s e t h e w h e e l / b o x a s s e m b l y
underneath the vehicle by tightening
the winch control nut using the
wheelbrace 1 .
Tighten fully and check that the
w h e e l i s h o r i z o n t a l l y fl u s h a g a i n s t
t h e fl o o r .
C l o s e t h e fl a p w i t h t h e e y e t o l o c k
the winch.
If you purchase a wheel of standard
size to replace the "space-saver"
type spare wheel, the spacer, lo-
cated underneath the vehicle, must
be removed. Consult a PEUGEOT
dealer.

Changing the number plate lamp
bulbs (W5W)
Insert a thin screwdriver into one of
the outer holes of the lens.
Push it outwards to unclip.
Remove the lens.
Pull the bulb and change it. Changing the third brake lamp
(SW - 4 bulbs W5W)
R e m o v e t h e t w o l a m p fi x i n g n u t s A .
Take out the lamp from the outside.
Disconnect the connector and the
screenwash pipe from the lamp.
Turn the bulb holder corresponding
to the faulty bulb a quarter of a turn.
Pull the bulb and change it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order.
Do not force the lamp when tightening
the nuts. Changing the third brake lamp
(SW - diodes)
On the versions with opening rear
screen, for the replacement of this type
of diode lamp, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.

CHANGING A FUSE
Access to the tools

es are installed on the back of the dash-

F o r a c c e s s t o t h e m :
o p e n t h e g l o v e b o x l i d ,
push the opening guide to the left to
o p e n t o b e y o n d t h e fi r s t n o t c h ,
o p e n t h e g l o v e b o x l i d f u l l y ,
turn the screw a quarter of a turn to
the left,
u n c l i p t h e f u s e b o x c o v e r b y p u l l i n g
at the top right,
remove the cover completely,
remove the pliers. Changing a fuse

Identify the faulty fuse by checking
t h e c o n d i t i o n o f i t s fi l a m e n t .

fuse from its housing.
Always replace the faulty fuse with a
fuse of the same rating.
Check the correspondence between
t h e n u m b e r e t c h e d o n t h e b o x , t h e
rating etched on the fuse and the
tables below.
