BONNET
Protects the components of the engine and provides access for checking levels.
Push the exterior control B to the left and raise the bonnet.
Unclip the strut C from its housing.
Fix the strut in one of the two notchesto hold the bonnet open.
Closing
Take the strut out of the support notch.
Clip the strut in its housing.
Lower the bonnet and release it at the end of its travel.
Pull on the bonnet to check that it is secured correctly.
RUNNING OUT OF FUEL
(DIESEL)
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a n H D I engine, the fuel circuit must be reprimed if you run out of fuel (refer to the corre-sponding graphic).
This system consists of a repriming pump and a transparent pipe.
Opening
Open the front left door.
Pull the interior control A , located at the bottom of the door frame.
1.4 litre Turbo HDI engine
Open the bonnet.
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e litres of diesel.
Squeeze and release the repriming pump until fuel appears in the trans-parent pipe.
Operate the starter until the engine starts.
Close the bonnet.
1.6 litre Turbo HDI 16V engine
Open the bonnet.
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e litres of diesel.
Unclip the style cover to gain access to the repriming pump.
Squeeze and release the repriming pump until fuel appears in the trans-parent pipe with the green connector.
Operate the starter until the engine starts.
Put the style cover back in position and clip it in place.
Close the bonnet.

CHECKING LEVELS
Check all of these levels regularly and top them up if necessary, unless other-wise indicated.
I f a l e v e l d r o p s s i g n i fi c a n t l y , h a v e t h e
corresponding system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer. Brake fluid level
To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pres-sure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Oil level
The reading will only be correct if the vehicle is on level ground and the engine has been off for more than 15 minutes.
The check is carried out either when the ignition is switched on using the oil level indicator on the instrument panel, or using the dipstick.
Between two oil changes, the consump-tion should not exceed 0.5 litre per 600 miles (1,000 km).
T h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l s h o u l d b e close to the "MAX" mark. If it is not, check the brake pad wear.

Coolant level
The coolant level should be close to the "MAX" mark but should never exceed it.
When the engine is warm, the temperature of the coolant is regulated by the fan. This can operate with the ignition off.

In addition, as the cooling system is pressurised, wait at least one hour after switching off the engine before carrying out any work.

This repair kit is available from
PEUGEOT dealers.
It is designed to repair most punc-
tures which could affect the tyre, lo-
cated on the tyre tread or shoulder.
Avoid removing any foreign bodies
which have penetrated the tyre.
TEMPORARY PUNCTURE
REPAIR KIT
Complete system consisting of a com-
pressor and an incorporated sealant
cartridge which permits temporary re-
pair of the tyre so that you can drive to
the nearest garage. Using the kit
This procedure, comprising several
steps, must be carried out in full.
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the selector A to the "SEALANT"
position.
Check that the switch B is in posi-
tion "0" .
Connect the white pipe C to the
valve of the tyre to be repaired.
Connect the compressor's electric
plug to the vehicle's 12 V socket.

When the vehicle is being driven, the load reduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air condi-tioning, the rear screen de-icing...
The deactivated functions are reactivat-ed automatically as soon as conditions permit.
It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is to be left un-
used for more than one month. Before disconnecting the

ENERGY ECONOMY MODE
System which manages the duration of
use of certain functions to conserve a
s u f fi c i e n t l e v e l o f c h a r g e i n t h e b a t t e r y .
After the engine has stopped, you can
still use functions such as the audio
equipment, windscreen wipers, dipped
headlamps, courtesy lights, etc. for a
m a x i m u m c o m b i n e d d u r a t i o n o f t h i r -
ty minutes. Exiting economy mode
These functions are reactivated auto-
m a t i c a l l y n e x t t i m e t h e v e h i c l e i s d r i v e n .
In order to resume the use of these
functions immediately, start the en-
gine and let it run for a few minutes.
The time available to you will then
be double the duration for which the
engine is left running. However, this
p e r i o d w i l l a l w a y s b e b e t w e e n fi v e a n d
thirty minutes.
Switching to economy mode
Once the thirty minutes are over, a
message appears on the multi-func-
tion display indicating that the vehicle
has switched to economy mode and the

Removing a front or rear wiper
blade
Raise the corresponding wiper arm.
Unclip the wiper blade and remove it.
Fitting a front or rear wiper
blade
At the front, check the size of the wiper blade as the shorter blade is fi t t e d o n t h e r i g h t - h a n d s i d e o f t h e vehicle.
Put the corresponding new wiper blade in place and clip it.
Fold down the wiper arm carefully.
