5. Air conditioning On/Off
The air conditioning is de-signed to operate effectively in all seasons, with the windows closed.
The control button is located on the heating or air conditioning system control panel.
REAR SCREEN DEMIST/
DEFROST
Switch off the demist/defrost
of the rear screen and exterior
mirrors as soon as you consider
this necessary as lower current
consumption results in reduced
fuel consumption.
If the engine is switched off be-
fore the de-icing is switched off
automatically, demist/defrost will
resume next time the engine is
switched on.
Switching on
The rear screen demist/defrost can only
operate when the engine is running.
Press this button to demist/defrost
the rear screen and the exterior mir-
rors. The indicator lamp associated
with the button comes on.
Switching off
The demist/defrost switches off auto-
matically to prevent an excessive con-
sumption of current.
It is possible to stop the demist/de-
frost operation before it is switched
off automatically by pressing the but-
ton again. The indicator lamp associ-
ated with the button switches off.
It enables you to:
- lower the temperature, in summer,
- increase the effectiveness of the demisting, in winter above 0 °C.
Switching on
Press the "A/C" button, the associ-
ated indicator lamp comes on.
The air conditioning does not operate w h e n t h e a i r fl o w a d j u s t m e n t d i a l 2 i s in position "0".

Press the "A/C" button again, the

When the engine is cold, to prevent
too great a distribution of cold
a i r , t h e a i r fl o w w i l l o n l y r e a c h i t s
optimum level gradually. The air conditioning can only operate with the engine running.
The driver and his front
passenger can each set
the temperature to suit their
requirements.
Turn dial 2 or 3 to the left to reduce
the value or to the right to increase it.
A setting around 21 enables you to
obtain an optimum level of comfort.
Depending on your requirements, a
setting between 18 and 24 is usual.
In addition, it is recommended that you avoid a left/right setting difference of more than 3.
4. Automatic visibility programme
The automatic comfort pro-

to quickly demist or defrost
the windscreen and side win-
dows (humidity, several pas-
sengers, ice...).
In this case, select the automatic vis-
ibility programme.
The system automatically controls the
a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g , t h e a i r fl o w a n d t h e a i r
intake and provides optimum distribution
of the ventilation to the windscreen and
side windows.

DUAL-ZONE AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING
We recommend that you use this mode: it provides optimised automatic control of all of the functions, passenger compartment t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r fl o w , a i r d i s t r i b u t i o n a n d air recirculation, in accordance with the comfort value that you have selected.
This system is designed to operate
effectively in all seasons, with the
windows closed. The value indicated on the display corresponds to a level of comfort and not to a temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.

To exit this programme, press the "vis-
ibility" button again or the "AUTO"
button, the indicator lamp on the button
switches off and "AUTO" is displayed.
Press this button to switch the air conditioning off.

Press the "small fan" button t o r e d u c e t h e a i r fl o w.
8. Air intake/Air recirculation Deactivation of the system
Press the "small fan" button until
the fan symbol disappears.
This action deactivates all of the func-
tions of the air conditioning system.
The temperature is no longer main-
tained at a comfortable level. However,
a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e t o t h e m o v e m e n t
of the vehicle, can still be felt.
Press the "large fan" button again
or the "AUTO" button to reactivate
the system with the values which
were set before it was deactivated.
Press this button to recircu-late the interior air. The air recirculation symbol is dis-played.
5. Air conditioning On/Off
- the windscreen, the side windows and the footwells,
- the windscreen and side windows (demisting or defrosting),
- the central and side vents,
- the central vents, the side vents and the footwells,
- the footwells.
Press the "large fan" button t o i n c r e a s e t h e a i r fl o w .
T h e a i r fl o w s y m b o l , t h e f a n , i s fi l l e d i n progressively in relation to the value required.
Air recirculation prevents exterior odours and smoke from entering the passenger
compartment.
As soon as possible, press this button
again to permit the intake of exterior
air and prevent condensation.
For maximum cooling or heating of
the passenger compartment, you
can exceed the minimum value of
14 or the maximum value of 28 .
Resuming manual control
Depending on your requirements, you
can make a different selection from that
offered by the system by changing a
setting. The other functions will still be
controlled automatically.
Press the "AUTO" button to return
to fully automatic operation.
Switching the system off may result in
discomfort (humidity, condensation).
Press the button again to return to auto-matic operation of the air conditioning. The symbol "A/C" is displayed.

Illuminated glove box *
This has an upper open storage com-
partment and locations for storing a
small bottle of water, the vehicle’s hand-
book, ...
Its lid has locations for storing a pen,
tokens, cards, cans, ...

To open the glove box, raise the
handle.
It is illuminated when the lid is opened.
It houses the front passenger airbag de-
activation switch A .
To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 Watts), lift the cover and
connect a suitable adaptor.

air conditioning, it provides access to
the ventilation nozzle B , which can be
opened or closed, distributing the same
conditioned air as the vents in the pas-
senger compartment.
It also permits access to the dashboard

particle emission filter)
The minimum level of this additive is in-
dicated by lighting of the service warn-
ing lamp, accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multifunc-
tion screen.
