AUX settings
Select the “Settings” key using the NISSAN con-
troller and press the ENTER button.
Choose one of the display modes by selecting
the “
” key or the “” key:

COMPACTFLASH™ (CF) PLAYER
OPERATION (if so equipped)
Place the ignition switch in the ACC or ON
position, remove the CompactFlash™ cover

and insert a CF card into the CompactFlash™
player slot
2. Then press the DISC·AUX button
repeatedly to switch to the CompactFlash™
mode.
If the system has been turned off while the Com-
pactFlash™ card was playing, pressing the
VOL/ON·OFF control knob will start the Com-
pactFlash™ card.

DISC·AUX button:
When the DISC·AUX button is pressed with the
system off and the CF card inserted, the system
will turn on. If another audio source is playing and
a CF card is inserted, press the DISC·AUX but-
ton repeatedly until the center display changes to
the CompactFlash™ mode.
CF display mode
While listening to CF certain text might be able to
be displayed.
Depending on how the files are encoded on the
CF the following text might be able to be dis-
played by touching the “Text” key:
●Folder displays the name of the current
folder being accessed.
●File displays the name of the file currently
playing.
●Song displays the ID3 encoded tag of the
song name.●Album displays the ID3 encoded tag of the
album name.
●Artist displays the ID3 encoded tag of the
artist’s name.
Press the BACK button to exit the CF text display
screen.

iPod* PLAYER OPERATION (if so
equipped)
Connecting iPod
Open the center console lid and open the iPod
cover. Connect the cable
1as illustrated, and
then connect the other end of the cable to your
iPod
2. Your vehicle is equipped with the spe-
cialized cable for connecting the iPodto your
vehicle audio unit. The battery of your iPodis
charged during the connection to the vehicle.
The display on the iPodshows a NISSAN
screen when the connection is completed. Whileconnecting the iPodto the vehicle, the iPod
can only be operated by the vehicle audio con-
trols.
To disconnect the cable from the vehicle outlet,
press the center connector button to unlatch the
connector and pull the connector straight out of
the outlet. To disconnect the cable from the
iPod, press the side connector buttons and pull
the iPodconnector straight out of the iPod.

Compatibility
The following models are available:
●Third generation iPod(Firmware version
2.3 or later) (Audiobook and Podcast are not
available)
●Fourth generation iPod(Firmware version

●iPodmini (Firmware version 1.41 or later)
●iPodphoto (Firmware version 1.2.1 or
later)

Make sure that your iPodfirmware is updated.
Audio main operation
Place the ignition switch in the ACC or ON
position. Press the DISC·AUX button repeatedly
to switch to the iPodmode.
If the system has been turned off while the iPod
was playing, pressing the VOL/ON·OFF control
knob will start the iPod.
DISC·AUX button:
When the DISC·AUX button is pressed with the
system off and the iPodconnected, the system
will turn on. If another audio source is playing and
the iPodis connected, press the DISC·AUX
button repeatedly until the center display
changes to the iPodmode.
Interface:
The interface for iPodoperation shown on the
vehicle center display is similar to the iPodin-
terface. Use the NISSAN controller and the EN-
TER or BACK button to play the iPodwith your
favorite settings.

Playing recorded songs
Select the Music Box audio system by using one
of the following methods:
●Press the SOURCE select switch on the
steering wheel.
For information, see “Steering wheel switch
for audio control” later in this section.
●Press the DISC·AUX button repeatedly until
the center display changes to the Music Box
mode.●Give voice commands.
For information, see “NISSAN Voice Recog-
nition system (if so equipped)” later in this
section.
Stopping playback:
The system stops playing when:
●Another mode (radio, CD, CompactFlash™
or AUX) is selected.
●The audio system is turned off.
●The ignition switch is placed in the OFF
position.
SEEK/CAT and TRACK buttons:
Press theSEEK/CAT button or theTRACK button while a track is being played; the
next track or the beginning of the current track will
be played.
Press and hold the
SEEK/CAT (rewind)
button or the
TRACK (fast forward) button
for more than approximately 1.5 seconds; the
track will play while rewinding or fast forwarding.
When the
SEEK/CAT (rewind) button or
the
TRACK (fast forward) button is re-
leased, the track will return to the normal playing
speed.The NISSAN controller can also be used to se-
lect tracks.

controller, see “How to use the NISSAN control-
ler” earlier in this section.
Play mode selection:
To change to another album or artist, turn the
TUNE/FOLDER knob.
RPT/RDM button:
Pressing the RPT/RDM button while a track is
playing, the play pattern can be changed as fol-
lows:
ALL Playlist RPT→1 Playlist RPT→1 TRK RPT
→ALL Playlist RDM→1 Playlist RDM→ALL
Playlist RPT
ALL Playlist RPT: the entire playlist will be re-
peated.
1 Playlist RPT: the playlist currently being played
will be repeated.
1 TRK RPT: the current track playing will be
repeated.
ALL Playlist RDM: all the tracks in the playlist will
be played randomly.
1 Playlist RDM: the tracks in the current playlist
will be played randomly.

SOURCE select switch
Push the source select switch to change the
mode in the following sequence: AM→FM→
iPod*4 (if so equipped)→Music Box*2 (if so
equipped)→CD*1→CompactFlash™*1 (if so
equipped)→AUX*3.
*1: These modes are only available when com-
patible media storage is inserted into the device.
*2: This mode is only available when music has
been downloaded into the Music Box hard-disk
drive audio system.
*3: This mode is only available when a compatible
auxiliary device is plugged into the AUX jack.
*4: This mode is only available when a compatible
iPodis connected.
Volume control switch
Push the volume control switch to increase or
decrease the volume.
Tuning
Memory change (radio):
Push the tuning switch (
or) for less
than 1.5 seconds to change presets.Seek tuning (radio):

radio station.
Next/Previous track (CD/CF):

This system searches for the blank intervals be-
tween selections. If there is a blank interval within
1 program or there is no interval between pro-
grams, the system may not stop in the desired or
expected location.
Next/Previous track (Music Box):
Push the tuning switch

present track or skip to the next track. Push
several times to skip back or skip through tracks.
Push and hold the tuning switch

When the last playlist is playing, the next playlist

audio system on or off.

ANTENNA
Window antenna
The antenna pattern is printed inside the rear
window.
CAUTION
●Do not place metalized film near the
rear window glass or attach any metal
parts to it. This may cause poor recep-
tion or noise.
●When cleaning the inside of the rear
window, be careful not to scratch or
damage the rear window antenna.
Lightly wipe along the antenna with a
dampened soft cloth.When installing a CB, ham radio or car phone in
your NISSAN, be sure to observe the following
precautions; otherwise, the new equipment may
adversely affect the engine control system and
other electronic parts.
WARNING
●A cellular telephone should not be used
while driving so full attention may be
given to vehicle operation. Some juris-
dictions prohibit the use of cellular tele-
phones while driving.
●If you must make a call while your ve-
hicle is in motion, the hands free cellu-
lar phone operational mode (if so
equipped) is highly recommended. Ex-
ercise extreme caution at all times so
full attention may be given to vehicle
operation.
●If you are unable to devote full attention
to vehicle operation while talking on
the phone, pull off the road to a safe
location and stop your vehicle.
CAUTION
●Keep the antenna as far away as pos-
sible from the electronic control
modules.
●Keep the antenna wire more than 8 in
(20 cm) away from the electronic con-
trol system harnesses. Do not route the
antenna wire next to any harness.
●Adjust the antenna standing-wave ratio
as recommended by the manufacturer.
●Connect the ground wire from the CB
radio chassis to the body.

CONTROL BUTTONS
The control buttons for the BluetoothHands-
Free Phone System are located on the steering
wheel.
PHONE/SEND
Press the
button to initiate a VR
session or answer an incoming call.
You can also use the
button to
skip through system feedback and to
enter commands during a call. See “List
of voice commands” and “During a call”
later in this section for more information.
PHONE/END
Press the
button to cancel a VR
session or end a call.
GETTING STARTED
The following procedures will help you get
started using the BluetoothHands-Free Phone
System with NISSAN Voice Recognition. For ad-
ditional command options, refer to “List of voice
commands” later in this section.
Choosing a language
You can interact with the BluetoothHands-Free
Phone System using English, Spanish or French.
To change the language, perform the following.
1. Press and hold the
button for more
than 5 seconds.
2. The system announces: “Press the
PHONE/SEND (
) button for the
hands-free phone system to enter the
speaker adaptation mode or press the
PHONE/END (
) button to select a dif-
ferent language.”
3. Press the
button.
For information on speaker adaptation, see
“Speaker adaptation (SA) mode” later in this
section.4. The system announces the current language
and gives you the option to change the lan-
guage to Spanish (in Spanish) or French (in
French) . Use the following chart to select
the language.
NOTE:
