If your vehicle is equipped with a sunroof,
you can slide or tilt your sunroof with the
sunroof control lever located on the over-
head console. The sunroof can only be opened, closed,
or tilted when the ignition switch is in theON position.

Resetting the sunroof
Whenever the vehicle battery is discon-
nected or discharged, you must reset
your sunroof system as follows:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON
position.
2. According to the position of the sun- roof, do the following.
1) In case the sunroof is closed com-pletely or tilted:
Push the sunroof control lever
upward until the sunroof tilts com-
pletely upward.
2) In case the sunroof is open:
Push the sunroof control lever for-
ward until the sunroof closes com-
pletely. Push the sunroof control
lever upward until the sunroof tilts
completely upward.
3. Release the sunroof control lever.
4. Push the sunroof control lever upward (about 10 seconds) until the sunroof
has returned to the original tilt posi-
tion after it is raised a little higher than
the maximum tilt position. Then,
release the lever. 5. Push the sunroof control lever upward
(about 6 seconds) until the sunroof
operates as follows;
TILT DOWN SLIDE OPEN
SLIDE CLOSE
Then, release the lever.
When this is complete, the sunroof sys- tem has been reset.

To operate the electric rearview mirror:
The mirror defaults to the ON position
whenever the ignition switch is turned on.
Press the ON/OFF button (1) to turn the automatic dimming function off.
The mirror indicator light will turn off.
Press the ON/OFF button (1) to turn the automatic dimming function on.

Outside rearview mirror Be sure to adjust the mirror angles
before driving.
Your vehicle is equipped with both left-
hand and right-hand outside rearview
mirrors. The mirrors can be adjusted
remotely with the remote switch (if
equipped). The mirror heads can be fold-
ed back to prevent damage during an
automatic car wash or when passing
through a narrow street.WARNING -

The right outside rearview mirror is convex. In some countries, the
left outside rearview mirror is
also convex. Objects seen in the
mirror are closer than they
appear.
Use your interior rearview mirror or direct observation to deter-
mine the actual distance of fol-
lowing vehicles when changinglanes.
CAUTION
Do not scrape ice off the mirror
face; this may damage the surfaceof the glass. If ice should restrict movement of the mirror, do not
force the mirror for adjustment. To remove ice, use a deicer spray, or asponge or soft cloth with very warm water.

If the mirror is jammed with ice, do
not adjust the mirror by force. Use an approved spray de-icer (not radi-ator antifreeze) to release the frozen mechanism or move the

rearview mirrors while the vehicle
is moving. This could result in loss
of control, and an accident which

Folding the outside rearview mirror
Manual type
To fold the outside rearview mirror, grasp
the housing of the mirror and then fold it
toward the rear of the vehicle. Electric Type (if equipped)
To fold the outside rearview mirror,
depress the button.
To unfold it, depress the button again.

CAUTION
In case of the electric type of out-
side rearview mirror, don’t fold it byhand. It could cause the failure of the motor.
CAUTION
The electric type outside rearview
mirror operates even though theignition switch is in the LOCK posi- tion. However, to prevent unneces- sary battery discharge, do not
adjust the mirrors longer than nec-essary while the engine is not run- ning.

Speedometer
The speedometer indicates the forward
speed of the vehicle.
The speedometer is calibrated in kilome-
ters per hour and/or miles per hour.

Tachometer
The tachometer indicates the approxi-
mate number of engine revolutions per
minute (rpm). Use the tachometer to select the correct
shift points and to prevent lugging and/or
over-revving the engine.
The tachometer pointer may move slight-
ly when the ignition switch is in ACC or
ON position with the engine OFF. This
movement is normal and will not affect
the accuracy of the tachometer once the
engine is running.

Engine temperature gauge
This gauge shows the temperature of the
engine coolant when the ignition switchis ON.
Do not continue driving with an overheat-
ed engine. If your vehicle overheats, refer
to “If the engine overheats” in section 6.

Never remove the radiator cap
when the engine is hot. The enginecoolant is under pressure and
could cause severe burns. Wait
until the engine is cool before
adding coolant to the reservoir.CAUTION
Do not operate the engine within the tachometer's RED ZONE.

vidual trips selected since the last trip-meter reset.
Pressing the TRIP button for more than 1

TRIP B) is being displayed, clears the

Warnings and indicators
All warning lights are checked by turning
the ignition switch ON (do not start the
engine). Any light that does not illuminate
should be checked by an authorized KIA
dealer.
After starting the engine, check to make
sure that all warning lights are off. If anyare still on, this indicates a situation that
needs attention. When releasing the
parking brake, the brake system warning
light should go off. The fuel warning light
will stay on if the fuel level is low.

Air bag warning light
(if equipped)
This warning light will illuminate for
approximately 6 seconds each time you
turn the ignition switch to the ON posi-tion. This light also comes on when the
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is
not working properly. If the AIR BAG
warning light does not come on, or con-
tinuously remains on after operating for
about 6 seconds when you turned the
ignition switch to the ON position or start-
ed the engine, or if it comes on while
driving, have the SRS inspected by an

Passenger’s front air bag
OFF indicator
(if equipped)
The passenger’s front air bag OFF indi-
cator illuminates for about 4 seconds
after the ignition switch is turned to theON position.
The passenger’s front air bag OFF indi- cator also comes on when the passen-
ger’s front air bag ON/OFF switch is setto the OFF position and goes off when
the passenger’s front air bag ON/OFF
switch is set to the ON position.
CAUTION
If the passenger’s front air bagON/OFF switch malfunctions, thepassenger’s front air bag OFF indi- cator will not illuminate and the
passenger’s front air bag will inflate in a frontal impact even if the pas-senger’s front air bag ON/OFF switch is set to the OFF position.
If this occurs, have an authorizedKIA dealer inspect the passenger’s front air bag ON/OFF switch and theSRS air bag system as soon as pos-
sible.
