Air quality control (if equipped)
The air inflow from outside the vehicle
can be automatically controlled. Press
the button to activate the air quality con-trol system.
When using AQS mode, AQS(Air Quality Control System) automatically sensesoutdoor air pollutants and minimises
them from entering the vehicle, however,
unpleasant or foul odors that might be
present may still be noticeable within the
vehicle. Exhaust gas cutoff mode :
Air enters the vehicle from the outside.
If exhaust gas enters the vehicle from the
outside, the exhaust gas cutoff mode is
automatically converted from the outsideair position to the recirculated air position
to prevent exhaust gas from entering the
vehicle.

Manual climate control system
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON posi-tion.
2. Turn the mode selection knob to the defrost position ( ).
3. Push the air intake control button ( ) at least 5 times within 3 sec-
onds.
The indicator light in the air intake control
button will blink 3 times with 0.5 second
of interval. It indicates that the defogging
logic is canceled or returned to the pro-
grammed status.
If the battery has been discharged or dis-
connected, it is reset to the defog logic

Automatic climate control system
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON posi-
tion.
2. Select the defrost position pressing defrost button ( ).
3. While holding the air conditioning but- ton (A/C) pressed, press the air intake
control button ( ) at least 5 times
within 3 seconds.
The A/C display blinks 3 times with 0.5
second of interval. It indicates that the
defogging logic is canceled or returned to
the programmed status.
If the battery has been discharged or dis-
connected, it is reset to the defog logic
status.

The steering wheel audio remote control
button is installed to promote safe driv-ing.
VOL (▲/▼)
• Press the up button ( ▲) to increase
volume.
Press the down button ( ▼) to decease

MODE
Press the button to select Radio, Tape (if equipped) or CD (compact disc).
SEEK (▲/▼)
If the SEEK button is pressed for 0.8 sec-
ond or more, it will work as follows in
each mode. RADIO mode
It will function as the AUTO SEEK select
button.
CDP mode
It will function as the FF/REW button. CDC mode
It will function as the DISC UP/DOWN
button. If the SEEK button is pressed for less
than 0.8 second, it will work as follows in

1. FM Selection Button
Turns to FM mode and toggles FM1 and
FM2 when the button is pressed each
time.
2. AM Selection Button
Pressing the AM button selects the AM
band. AM Mode is displayed on the LCD.
3. CD Selection Button
If there is a cd in the CDP DECK it plays
the CD.
Press CD button to automatically insert CD when the disc is ejected from the
deck by pressing CD EJECT.
4. AUX Selection Button
If the auxiliary device is connected, it
turns to AUX MODE to play the sound
from the auxiliary player.
If no Disc and auxiliary device is connected,
it displays “NO Media” for 5 seconds and
returns to the previous mode.5. Automatic Channel Selection
Button
When the [SEEK ]button is pressed, it reduces the band frequency by 0.1Mhz to automatically select channel.
Stops at the previous frequency if no
channel is found.
When the [SEEK ]button is pressed, it increases the band frequency by0.1Mhz to automatically select channel.
Stops at the previous frequency if no
channel is found.
6. Power ON/OFF & Volume Control Button
Turns on/off the set when the IGNITION
SWITCH is on ACC or ON. If the button
is turned to the right, it increases the
volume and left, decreases the volume.
7. SCAN Button
If this button is pressed, the frequencies
will become increased and receive the
corresponding broadcasts.
This function will play the frequencies for 5 seconds each and find other broad-
casts as the frequency increases.
Press the button again when desiring to
continue listening to the currently playingbroadcast. 8. AUTO STORE Button
When the button is pressed, it automati-
cally selects and saves channels with
high reception rate to PRESET buttons
(1~6) and plays the channel saved inPRESET1.
If no channel is saved after AST, it will
play the previous channel.
9. SET UP Button
Press this button to turn to the TEXT
SCROLL, AVC, and audio adjustment
mode.
If no action is taken for 5 seconds after
pressing the button, it will return to the
play mode.(After entering SET UP mode,
move between items using the left, right
and PUSH functions of the TUNE button.)

10. TUNE/ENTER Button
Turn this button clockwise by one notch to increase frequency from current fre-
quency.
Turn this button counterclockwise by one notch to decrease frequency from cur-
rent frequency.
Press this button while holding SET UP
button to activate / inactivate the item toselect.
Select SET UP item using left and right
function of the Tune button.
Pressing the changes the BASS, MID-
DLE, TREBLE, FADER and BALANCE
TUNE mode.
The mode selected is shown on the dis-
play.
After selecting each mode, rotate the
Audio control knob clockwise or counter-
clockwise.
To increase the BASS, rotate the knob
clockwise, while to decrease the BASS,
rotate the knob counterclockwise.
To increase the MIDDLE, rotate the knob
clockwise, while to decrease the MID-
DLE, rotate the knob counterclockwise.
Control
To increase the TREBLE, rotate the knob
clockwise, while to decrease the TRE-

Turn the control knob clockwise to
emphasize rear speaker sound (front
speaker sound will be attenuated). When
the control knob is turned counterclock-
wise, front speaker sound will be empha-
sized (rear speaker sound will be attenu-ated).
Rotate the knob clockwise to emphasize
right speaker sound (left speaker sound
will be attenuated). When the control
knob is turned counter clockwise, left
speaker sound will be emphasized (right
speaker sound will be attenuated).
11. Pre-set Button
Push [1]~[6] buttons less than 0.8 second
to play the channel saved in each button.
Push pre-set button for 0.8 second or
longer to save current channel to the
respective button with a beep.

1. CD loading slot
Please face printed side upward and
gently push in. When the ignition switch
is on ACC or ON and power is off, power
is automatically turned on if the CD is
loaded. This CDP supports only 12 cm
CD. If VCD, Data CDs are loaded,"Reading Error" message will appearand CD will be ejected.
2. CD Indicator
When car ignition switch is ACC or ON and if the CD is loaded, this indicator is
lighted. If the CD is ejected the light is
turned off.
3. CD eject Button
Push button to eject the CD. This but-
ton is enabled when ignition switch is off.
4. AUX Selection Button
If the auxiliary device is connected, it
turns to AUX MODE to play the sound
from the auxiliary player.
If no auxiliary device is connected, it dis-
plays "NO CONNECT" for 3 seconds and
returns to the previous mode. 5. Automatic Track Selection
Button
Push [SEEK ] button for less than 0.8 second to play from the beginning of current song.
Push [SEEK ] button for less than 0.8 second and press again within 3
seconds to play the previous song.
Push [SEEK ] button for 0.8 or longer to initiate reverse direction highspeed sound search of current song.
Push [SEEK ] button for less than 0.8 second to play the next song.
Push [SEEK ] button for 0.8 or longer to initiate high speed soundsearch of current song.

Displays the information of the current

Turns on/off the randomization of the play
list of files in the currently played DISC.
To cancel the mode, press the key once again.
10. SCAN Play Button
Plays first 10 seconds of each song in the
DISC.

USB DEVICE
To use the external USB device, make sure the device is notmounted when starting up the
vehicle and mount the deviceafter starting up.
If you start the vehicle when the USB device is mounted, it maydamage the USB device. (USB is
not ESA)
If the vehicle is started up or turned off while the external USBdevice is connected, the external
USB device may not work.
It may not play inauthentic MP3 or WMA files.
1) It can only play MP3 files with the compression rate between8Kbps~320Kbps.
2) It can only play WMA music files with the compression ratebetween 8Kbps~320Kbps.
Take cautions for static electricity when mounting or dismountingthe external USB device.
Encoded MP3 PLAYER is not rec- ognizable.

Depending on the condition of the external USB device, the con-nected external USB device can
be unrecognizable.
When the VHAPTTL byte/sector setting of External USB devices isnot either 512BYTE or 2048BYTE,
then the device will not be recog-nized.
Only the USB device formatted to FAT 12/16/32.
USB device without USB IF authen- tication may not be recognizable.
Make sure the USB connection terminal does not come in contactwith human body or any object.
If you repeat mounting or dis- mounting USB device in a short
period of time, it may break the device.
You might hear strange noise when mounting or dismounting a
USB device.

If you use devices such as the USB hub you purchased sepa-rately, the vehicle’s audio systemmay not recognize the USB
device. Connect the USB devicedirectly to the multimedia termi- nal of the vehicle.
