If you are climbing a steep gradient and the engine gets excessively hot, certain functions become una-vailable (e.g. sequential control of the automatic gearbox, the air con-ditioning).
If you are towing, it is necessary to deactivate the parking assistance by pressing the control on the dash-board. See "Parking assistance".
It is recommended that you remove the towing ball, so that it does not interfere with the functioning of the proximity sensors, when you are not using a trailer.
MAINTENANCE
If cleaning the vehicle with a high pressure system:Your Piloted Defl ector has to be closed.
It is not advisable to clean the underside of the vehicle, for fear of damaging the electric parking brake.As water may penetrate into the vehicle interior via the door apertures, do not target these areas.
Do not direct at the headlamps, lamps and their edges for too long or you may damage their coating and seals.

ACCESS TO THE SPARE WHEEL
To access the spare wheel1. Lift the boot fl oor by means of the strap.2. Anchor the strap on the roof of the boot.3. To remove the spare wheel, detach the belt then push the wheel forwards so as to be able to lift it.
TO REPOSITION THE SPARE WHEEL
To put the spare wheel back in the boot1. Position the spare wheel fl at in the boot, then pull it towards you.2. Next place the toolbox inside the wheel, then secure the a ssembly with the belt.3. Release the strap to return the boot fl oor to its initial position.
Tyre pressures
Tyre pressures are indicated on the label which is positioned l ow down on the front pillar. See "Vehicle identifi cation" and "User Precautions". (On this label you will see a pressure for normal speeds and a pressure for high speeds).

Before positioning the jack, always adjust the vehicle's ground clearance to the "maximum height" position and reta in this adjustment for as long as the jack is under the vehicle (do not use the hydraulic adjustments).
Never get underneath the vehicle if it is supported only by the jack.
The jack and all the tools are designed specifi cally for use on your particular vehicle. Do not use them for any other a pplications.
Have the original wheel repaired and refitted as so on as possible.
It is imperative not to exceed a speed of 50 mph (80 km/h) on the spare wheel.
REMOVAL1. Park the vehicle on stable, fi rm ground that is not slippery. Ap ply the parking brake.2. It is essential to make sure that the occupants have left the vehicle and are in a place where their safety is guaranteed.3. With the engine idling, adjust the ground clearance to maximum height. See "Comfort" and "Ground clearance adjustment". Switch off the ignition and engage fi rst gear or reverse gear depending on any slope (for a vehicle with automatic gearbox, select position P).4. Position the chock at the wheel that is diametrically opposite the one to be replaced.5. Position the jack at one of the four jacking-points provided on the subframe close to the wheels, then use the handle to unwind the jack until it reaches the ground.6. Slide the removal tool 4 into the notch and lever vigorously to detach the anti-theft bolt protector. See illustration. You can use the handle at the extremity of the tool 4.7. Slacken the wheel bolts.8. Continue to extend the jack until the wheel is a few cen timetres off the ground.9. Undo the bolts, remove the wheel.

It is imperative not to exceed a speed of 50 mph (80 km/h) on the spare wheel.
The wheel bolts are specifi c to the type of wheel.
If the type of wheel is changed, check with your CITROËN dealer that the wheel bolts are compatible with the new wheels.
Note: take care to note down the code number engrav ed on the head of the anti-theft bolt socket. This will enable you to obtain replacement anti-theft bolt sockets from a dealership.
WHEEL FOR TEMPORARY USE
If your vehicle is equipped with a spare wheel for temporary use only, when fi tting it it is normal to observe that the wheel bolts do not come to bear on the wheel rim.
The spare wheel is secured by the conical tapering of the wheel bolt’s shaft. See illustration.
When refi tting the original wheel, ensure that the wheel bolt contact surfaces are clean and in good condition.
REFITTING A WHEEL1. Fit the wheel on the hub, using the centring guide. Make sure that the contact surface between the hub and the wheel is clean.2. Screw in the bolts but do not fully tighten them.3. Lower the jack and remove it.4. Tighten the wheel bolts, using the wheelbrace.5. Refi t the embellisher.6. Return the ground clearance to the normal position. See "Ground clearance adjustment".7. Ensure the tyre pressure is correct (see "Vehicle identifi cation") and have the balancing checked.
WHEEL EQUIPPED WITH DEFLATION DETECTION SENSOR
Such wheels have tyre pressure sensors. It is essential to have repairs carried out by a CITROËN dealer.
ANTI-THEFT BOLTS
Each wheel is equipped with one anti-theft bolt.
To remove it1. Remove the protector that is covering it by means of the tool 4 for "removing anti-theft protectors".2. Use the anti-theft socket with the handle.

TOWING WITH WHEELS ON THE GROUND
Towing eyes can be used at the front and at the rear of the vehicle.
Detach the cover:For the front cover, lever with a screwdriver at the top of the cover.
For the rear cover, press on the right hand side.
The ignition key must be in position M to retain steering.
Use a bar with attachments to the towing eyes as above.
The towing eye is removable, to be stowed in the jack protect ion box inside the spare wheel.
