CHECKING LEVELS
Check all of these levels regularly
and top them up if necessary, unless
otherwise indicated.

larly. Fluid which has been used for
too long may cause a loss of braking

Coolant level
Draining the system
The coolant does not have to be
changed.
F l u i d s p e c i fi c a t i o n
The coolant must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.
The reading will only be
correct if the vehicle is on
level ground and the engine
has been off for more than
15 minutes.
The check is carried out either when
the ignition is switched on using the
oil level indicator on the instrument
panel, or using the dipstick.
Between two oil changes, the con-
sumption should not exceed 0.5 litre
per 600 miles (approx. 1 000 km).
Check this level also between each
scheduled service and before long
journeys. T h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l s h o u l d
be close to the "MAX" mark.
If it is not, check the brake
pad wear.
The coolant level should be
close to the "MAX" mark but
should never exceed it.
When the engine is warm, the tem-
perature of the coolant is regulated
by the fan. This can operate with the
ignition off.
O n v e h i c l e s w h i c h a r e fi t t e d w i t h
a p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r , t h e f a n
may operate after the vehicle has
b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f , e v e n i f t h e e n -
gine is cold.
In addition, as the cooling system is
pressurised, wait at least one hour
after switching off the engine before
carrying out any work.
To avoid any risk of scalding, un-
screw the cap by two turns to al-
low the pressure to drop. When the
pressure has dropped, remove the
cap and top up the level.
In order to maintain the re-
liability of the engine and
emission control system,
the use of additives in the engine
oil is prohibited.

removal tool 5 into the slot in the
c e n t r a l e m b e l l i s h e r a n d a p p l y
fi r m l e v e r a g e t o d e t a c h .
Slacken the wheel bolts using
the wheelbrace 1 .
For vehicles with aluminium wheel rims, slacken the anti-theft
bolt using the socket 6 fi t t e d o n
the wheelbrace 1 .

ELECTRIC WINDOWS
System intended to open or close a
window manually or automatically.
Fitted with a safety anti-pinch sys-
tem and a deactivation system for
the prevention of misuse of the rear
controls.
1. Front left electric window
control.
2. Front right electric window

4. Rear left electric window

One-touch electric windows
There are two options:
- manual mode
Press or pull the control gently.
The window stops when the
control is released.
- automatic mode
P r e s s o r p u l l t h e c o n t r o l fi r m l y .
The window opens or closes fully
when the control is released.
Pressing the control again stops
the movement of the window.
The electric window controls re-
main operational for approximately
45 seconds after the ignition is
switched off or until the vehicle is
locked after a door is opened.
If one of the passenger windows
cannot be operated from the driv-
er's door control pad, carry out the
operation from the control for the
passenger door concerned. Safety anti-pinch
When the window rises and meets
an obstacle, it stops and partially
lowers again.
If the window cannot be closed (for
example, in the presence of ice),
immediately after the movement is
reversed:
press and hold the control until
the window opens fully,
then pull the control immediate-
ly and hold it until the window
closes,
continue to hold the control for
approximately one second after
the window has closed.
The safety anti-pinch function
is not operational during these
operations.

Reinitialisation
If a window does not rise automatically,
its operation must be reinitialised:
pull the control until the window
stops,
release the control and pull it
again until the window closes
fully,
continue to hold the control for
approximately one second after
the window has closed,
press the control to lower the
window automatically to the low
position,
when the window has reached
the low position, press the con-
trol again for approximately
one second.
The safety anti-pinch function is not
operational during these operations.
Deactivation of the rear
electric window controls
or
Deactivation of the rear
electric window and door
controls *
For the safety of your children,
press control 5 to deactivate the
rear electric window controls re-
gardless of their position.
Indicator lamp on, the rear controls
are deactivated.
Indicator lamp off, the rear controls
are activated. Always remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
If an obstacle is encountered during
operation of the electric windows,
you must reverse the movement of
the window. To do this, press the
control concerned.
When the driver operates the con-
trols for the passengers' electric
windows, he must ensure that no
one is preventing correct closing of
the windows.
The driver must ensure that the
passengers use the electric win-
dows correctly.
Be aware of children when operat-
ing the windows.
This control also deactivates the in-
terior controls of the rear doors (see
"Child safety - § Electric child lock").
This indicator lamp in the
instrument panel comes on
temporarily when deactivat-
ing and every time the igni-
tion is switched on.
Any other status of the indica-
tor lamp indicates a malfunction of
the system. Have it checked by a
CITROËN dealer.

MANUAL CHILD LOCK
Locking
Turn the red control one quarter
of a turn to the right using the
ignition key.
Unlocking
Turn the red control one quarter
of a turn to the left using the igni-
tion key.
ELECTRIC CHILD LOCK *
Mechanical system to prevent ope-
ning of the rear door using its interior
control.
The control is located on the edge of
each rear door. Remote control system to prevent
opening of the rear doors using their
interior controls and use of the rear
electric windows.
Activation
Press the button A .
The indicator lamp on the button A
comes on, accompanied by a mes-
sage on the multifunction screen.
This indicator lamp remains on until
the child lock is deactivated. The indicator lamp on the button
A
switches off, accompanied by a mes-
sage on the multifunction screen.
This indicator lamp remains off until
the child lock is activated.
Any other status of the indicator
lamp indicates a malfunction of the
electric child lock. Have it checked
by a CITROËN dealer.
This system is independent and in
no circumstances does it take the
place of the central locking control.
Check the status of the child lock
each time you switch on the ignition.
Always remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
In the event of a serious impact,
the electric child lock is deactiva-
ted automatically to permit the exit
of the rear passengers. This warning lamp comes
on temporarily on the instru-
ment panel when the child
lock is activated.
The control A is located on the dri-
ver's door, with the electric window
controls. Deactivation
Press the button A again.

It also comes on when the ignition
is switched on, then switches off ap-
proximately ten seconds after the
engine is started.
