MONITORING
Instrument panel
A. With the ignition on, the fuel gauge
bars for the fuel remaining should
light up.
B. With the engine running, the associ-
ated low level warning lamp should
switch off.
C. With the ignition on, the oil level in-
dicator should display "OIL OK" for
a few seconds.
If the levels are not correct, top up the
level which is low.
18 Warning lamps
1. With the ignition on, the orange and
red warning lamps come on.
2. With the engine running, these
warning lamps should switch off.
If a warning lamp remains on, refer to
the page concerned.
20 Switch panel
Lighting of the indicator lamp indicates
the status of the corresponding function.
A. Activation of the electric child lock.

Front passenger's airbag
1. Open the glove box.
2. Insert the key.
3. Select position:
"ON" (activation), with front passenger
or "forwards facing" child seat,
"OFF" (deactivation), with "rear facing"
child seat".
4. Remove the key keeping the switch
in this position.

COMFORT
SCENTED AIR FRESHENER
System permitting the diffusion of a fra-
grance in the passenger compartment
in accordance with your requirements,
by means of the adjustment dial and the
various fragrance cartridges available.
Adjustment dial
This dial is located on the dashboard.
It allows you to adjust the intensity of
diffusion of the fragrance.
Turn the dial to the right to permit
diffusion of the fragrance.
Turn the dial to the left to stop diffu-
sion of the fragrance. Fragrance cartridge
This cartridge can be removed easily.
T h e fi r s t t i m e i t i s u s e d , r e p l a c e t h e p l u g
with a real cartridge
You can change it at any time and store
it in the sealed case which keeps it
closed once it has been opened.
You can obtain different fragrance car-
tridges from CITROËN dealers.
Removing the cartridge
Press the dial and turn it a quarter of
a turn anti-clockwise.
Remove the cartridge.

Fitting the cartridge
Remove the cartridge from the seal-
ing case.
I n s t a l l t h e c a r t r i d g e ( fl o w e r a t t o p
left).
Press the dial and turn it a quarter of
a turn clockwise.
Leave the central vents open.
The intensity of diffusion of the
fragrance may depend on the
ventilation or air conditioning
settings. Do not discard the original car-
tridge as this serves as a plug
when no fragrance cartridge is
in use.
In order to preserve the service
life of the cartridge, turn the dial
fully to the left when you no longer
wish to diffuse the fragrance in
the passenger compartment.
As a safety precaution, do not
carry out any action on the car-
tridge while driving.
Do not dismantle the cartridges.

grance diffuser or the cartridges.
Use genuinel CITROËN car-
tridges only.
Avoid all contact with the skin
and eyes.
Keep out of reach of children
and animals.

ACCESS Lost keys
Visit a CITROËN dealer with the vehicle's V5 registration do cument and
y o u r p e r s o n a l i d e n t i fi c a t i o n d o c u m e n t s .
The CITROËN dealer will be able to retrieve the key code a nd the tran-
sponder code required to order a replacement key. Do not throw the remote con-
trol batteries away, they contain
metals which are harmful to the
environment.
Take them to an approved collec-
tion point.
Remote control
The high frequency remote control is a sensitive system; do not o perate it
while it is in your pocket as there is a possibilit y that it may unlock the vehicle,
without you being aware of it.
Do not repeatedly press the buttons of your remote control out of range and
out of sight of your vehicle. You run the risk of stopping it from working and
the remote control would have to be reinitialised.
The remote control does not operate when the key is in the ignition, even
when the ignition is switched off, except for reinitialisat ion.
Locking the vehicle
Driving with the doors locked may make access to the passenger compart -
m e n t b y t h e e m e r g e n c y s e r v i c e s m o r e d i f fi c u l t i n a n e m e r g e n c y .
As a safety precaution (with children on board), remove the key fro m the
ignition when you leave the vehicle, even for a short time.
Anti-theft protection
D o n o t m a k e a n y m o d i fi c a t i o n s t o t h e e l e c t r o n i c e n g i n e i m m o b i l i s e r s y s t e m ;
this could cause malfunctions.
When purchasing a second-hand vehicle
Have the key codes memorised by a CITROËN dealer, to ensure tha t the
keys in your possession are the only ones which can start the vehicle .

ADVICE ON CHILD SEATS
The incorrect installation of a child
s e a t i n a v e h i c l e c o m p r o m i s e s t h e
c h i l d ' s p r o t e c t i o n i n t h e e v e n t o f a n
accident.
R e m e m b e r t o f a s t e n t h e s e a t b e l t s o r
the child seat harnesses keeping the
s l a c k r e l a t i v e t o t h e c h i l d ' s b o d y t o a
m i n i m u m , e v e n f o r s h o r t j o u r n e y s .
When installing a child seat using the
seat belt, ensure that the seat belt is
tightened correctly on the child seat
a n d t h a t i t s e c u r e s t h e c h i l d s e a t fi r m l y
on the seat of your vehicle.
F o r o p t i m u m i n s t a l l a t i o n o f t h e " f o r -
wards-facing" child seat, ensure that
the back of the child seat is in contact
w i t h t h e b a c k o f t h e v e h i c l e ' s s e a t
and that the head restraint does not
c a u s e a n y d i s c o m f o r t .
I f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t h a s t o b e r e m o v e d ,
ensure that it is stored or attached se-
c u r e l y t o p r e v e n t i t f r o m b e i n g t h r o w n
around the vehicle in the event of
sharp braking. As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- o n e o r m o r e c h i l d r e n a l o n e a n d
unsupervised in a vehicle,
- a c h i l d o r a n a n i m a l i n a v e h i c l e w h i c h i s e x p o s e d t o t h e s u n , w i t h
the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
To prevent accidental opening of the
doors and rear windows, use the
"Child lock".
Take care not to open the rear windows
b y m o r e t h a n o n e t h i r d .
T o p r o t e c t y o u n g c h i l d r e n f r o m t h e
r a y s o f t h e s u n , fi t s i d e b l i n d s o n t h e
rear windows.
C h i l d r e n u n d e r t h e a g e o f 1 0 m u s t
not travel in the "forwards-facing"
position on the front passenger seat,
unless the rear seats are already oc-
cupied by other children, cannot be
used or are absent.
Deactivate the passenger airbag
when a "rearwards-facing" child seat
is installed on the front seat.
O t h e r w i s e , t h e c h i l d w o u l d r i s k b e i n g
seriously injured or killed if the airbag
w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
Installing a booster seat
T h e c h e s t p a r t o f t h e s e a t b e l t m u s t
b e p o s i t i o n e d o n t h e c h i l d ' s s h o u l d e r
without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
b e l t p a s s e s c o r r e c t l y o v e r t h e c h i l d ' s
thighs.

b o o s t e r s e a t w h i c h h a s a b a c k , fi t t e d
with a seat belt guide at shoulder level.

"ISOFIX" MOUNTINGS
Your vehicle has been approved in accor-
dance with the new ISOFIX regulation .
T h e s e a t s , r e p r e s e n t e d b e l o w , a r e fi t t e d
w i t h r e g u l a t i o n I S O F I X m o u n t i n g s : These are three rings for each seat:
- two rings
A , located between the
vehicle seat back and cushion, indi-
cated by a label, T h i s I S O F I X m o u n t i n g s y s t e m g u a r a n -
t e e s y o u f a s t , r e l i a b l e a n d s a f e fi t t i n g o f
the child seat in your vehicle.
The
ISOFIX child seats a r e fi t t e d w i t h
two locks which are secured easily on
the two rings A .
S o m e a l s o h a v e a n upper strap which
is attached to ring B .
To attach this strap, raise the vehicle
s e a t ' s h e a d r e s t r a i n t t h e n p a s s t h e h o o k
b e t w e e n i t s r o d s . T h e n fi x t h e h o o k o n
ring B and tighten the upper strap.
- a ring B , behind the seat, referred to
as the TOP TETHER f o r fi x i n g t h e
upper strap. The incorrect installation of a
c h i l d s e a t i n a v e h i c l e c o m p r o -
m i s e s t h e c h i l d ' s p r o t e c t i o n i n
the event of an accident.
