Side air bags
System which protects the driver and
passenger in the event of a serious side
impact in order to limit the risk of injury
to the chest.
Each side air bag is incorporated in
the front seat back frame, on the door
side.
Activation
The side air bag is triggered unilaterally
in the event of a serious side impact
applied to all or part of the side impact
zone B , perpendicular to the longitudi-
nal centreline of the vehicle on a hori-
zontal plane and directed from the out-
side towards the inside of the vehicle.

front occupant of the vehicle and the
corresponding door trim pad. Curtain air bags
System which protects the driver and

side impact in order to limit the risk of
injury to the head.
Each curtain air bag is incorporated in
the pillars and the upper section of the
passenger compartment. Activation
The curtain air bag is triggered at the
same time as the corresponding side
air bag in the event of a serious side
impact applied to all or part of the side
impact zone
B , perpendicular to the
longitudinal centreline of the vehicle on
a horizontal plane and directed from
the outside towards the inside of the
vehicle.

front or rear occupant of the vehicle and
the windows.
In the event of a minor impact
or bump on the side of the ve-
hicle or if the vehicle rolls over,
the air bag may not be triggered.
In the event of a rear or front colli-
sion, the air bag is not triggered.

Operating fault
If this warning light comes on on the
instrument panel and this display appears
on the instrument panel display, contact
a CITROËN dealer to have the system
checked. The air bags may no longer be
triggered in the event of a serious impact.

Programming
Press button 1 .
Set the programmed speed by ac-
celerating to the required speed,
then press button 2 “COAST
SET” .
CRUISE CONTROL
The controls of this system are grouped
together on the steering wheel.
1.
“ON/OFF” button: activation / deac-
tivation of the cruise control mode.
2.
“COAST SET” button: storing of a
driving speed and decreasing of the
cruising speed.
3.
“ACC RES” button: increasing of
the cruising speed and recalling of
the stored speed.
4.
“CANCEL” button: switching off of
the cruise control. When you press button
1 , “CRUISE”
indicator light comes on on the instru-
ment panel.

The cruise control cannot, in any cir-
cumstances, take the place of the
need to comply with speed limits or
of the vigilance and responsibility of
the driver.
System which permits automatic main-
taining of the vehicle speed at the value
programmed by the driver, without any
action on the accelerator pedal.
The
cruise control is switched on
manually: the vehicle speed must be
25 mph (40 km/h) minimum and sec-
ond gear must be engaged in the case
o f a m a n u a l g e a r b o x .
The cruise control is switched off
manually, by an action on the brake or
clutch pedal or if the ASC system is trig-
gered.
T h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d c a n b e e x -
ceeded temporarily by pressing the ac-
celerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed value.

REVERSING CAMERA
Linked with the navigation option, a re-
versing camera is activated automati-
cally when reverse gear is engaged.
The colour visual return is provided on
the navigation display with indication of
the limit of the rear bumper and of the
general direction of the vehicle.
Operating fault
If an operating fault occurs, the indicator
light on button
A fl a s h e s w h e n r e v e r s e
gear is engaged.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
In bad weather or in winter, check
that the sensors are not covered with
mud, ice or snow.
Deactivation
With reverse gear engaged, press
button A , the indicator light switches
off, the system is fully deactivated.
Reactivation
With reverse gear engaged, press
button A again, the indicator light
comes on, the system is reactivated.

Diesel additive level (Diesel
with particle emission filter)
The minimum level of this additive is in-
dicated by lighting of the service warn-
ing light, accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multifunc-
tion display.
Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is
topped up by a CITROËN dealer with-
out delay.
Used products CHECKS
Battery Check the electrolyte level
regularly. If necessary, top up
the level with distilled water.
Check that the terminals are
clean and correctly tightened,
particularly in summer and winter.
When carrying out work on the battery,
refer to the “Practical information” sec-
tion for details of the precautions to be
taken before disconnecting the battery
and following its reconnection.
Air filter and passenger
compartment filter Refer to the servicing booklet
for details of the replacement
intervals for these compo-
nents.
Depending on the environ-
ment (dusty atmosphere...) and the use
of the vehicle (city driving...), replace
them twice as often if necessary (refer
to the “Engines” paragraph).
A c l o g g e d p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l -
ter may have an adverse effect on the
performance of the air conditioning sys-
tem and generate undesirable odours. Oil filter
R e p l a c e t h e o i l fi l t e r e a c h t i m e
the engine oil is changed.

i d l e , y o u m a y , e x c e p t i o n a l l y , n o t i c e
the emission of water vapour at the
e x h a u s t o n a c c e l e r a t i o n . T h i s d o e s
not have any adverse effect on the
performance of the vehicle or on the
environment.
Avoid any prolonged contact of
u s e d o i l o r fl u i d s w i t h t h e s k i n .
M o s t o f t h e s e fl u i d s a r e h a r m f u l
to health or indeed very corrosive.
D o n o t d i s c a r d u s e d o i l o r fl u i d s i n t o
sewers or onto the ground.
Empty used oil into the containers
provided for this purpose in the
CITROËN network. D o n o t d i s c a r d t h e o i l fi l t e r t h r o u g h
public channels, deposit it in the con-
tainers dedicated to this use in the
CITROËN network.
Unless otherwise indicated, check
these components in accordance with
the servicing booklet and in relation to
your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a
CITROËN dealer.

CHANGING A BULB
Handle the bulbs using a dry
cloth.
Do not clean the headlamps
using a dry or abrasive cloth, or us-
ing detergent or solvent products,
use a sponge and soapy water. In certain climatic conditions
(low temperature, humidity),
t
he
presence of condensation on the
inside of the headlamp glass is
normal ; it disappears a few minutes
after the lights are switched on.
Front lights
Blown bulb
Refer to the appropriate procedure to
change the corresponding bulb.
1. Direction indicators
(PY21W - 21 W).
2. Dipped headlamps (H11 - 55 W) or xenon bulb (D2S - 35 W).
3. Side lights (W5W - 5 W).
4. Main beam headlamps (H7 - 55 W).
5. Front fog lamps (H11 - 55 W). WARNING: RISK OF
ELECTROCUTION
Xenon bulbs must be replaced by a
CITROËN dealer.

Changing the side lights (3)
Unscrew the cover H .
Disconnect the connector.
Turn the bulb holder I a quarter of a
turn and remove it.
Pull the bulb and change it.

Turn the bulb G to the left and re-
move it.
