87PRACTICAL INFORMATION-
CHANGING A WHEEL
Parking the vehicle
- If possible, park the vehicle on level, stable and non-slippery
g r o u n d .
- Apply the handbrake, switch off t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t o r
reverse gear. R e m o v i n g a w h e e l
- Chock the rear of the wheel di-
agonally opposite the wheel to be
c h a n g e d , u s i n g t h e c h o c k 2 .
- R e m o v e t h e w h e e l t r i m u s i n g t h e wheelbrace 1 , b y p u l l i n g a t t h e
valve passage hole.
- Slacken the wheel bolts.
- P l a c e t h e j a c k u n d e r t h e l o c a t - i n g p o i n t o n t h e s u b - f r a m e A
that is closest to the wheel to be
c h a n g e d . E n s u r e t h a t t h e e n t i r e
s u r f a c e o f t h e j a c k b a s e p l a t e i s
i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d .
- E x t e n d t h e j a c k , c o m p l e t e l y u n - screw the bolts and remove the
wheel.
Access to the spare wheel and
the jack
T h e w h e e l i s l o c a t e d o u t s i d e t h e v e -
h i c l e , u n d e r t h e r e a r fl o o r , s u p p o r t e d
by a metal carrier.
- R e m o v e t h e j a c k a n d t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1 , s e c u r e d b e h i n d t h e d r i v e r ' s
seat.
- Remo
v e t h e j a c k a n d t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1 s e c u r e d i n a n i n t e r i o r h o u s i n g
above the rear right wheel.
- Using the wheelbrace 1 , slacken the spare wheel carrier retaining bolt,
located on the inside near the closing system.
- Lift the carrier to release the hook rearwards, then lower it.
- Remove the chock 2 located in the spare wheel.

- with the handbrake applied,
- w i t h fi r s t o r r e v e r s e g e a r e n - gaged,
- with the vehicle chocked,
- m a k i n g a b s o l u t e l y s u r e t h a t t h e o c c u p a n t s g e t o u t o f t h e v e h i c l e
and wait in a safe location.
N e v e r g o u n d e r n e a t h t h e v e h i c l e
w h e n i t i s r a i s e d u s i n g t h e j a c k o n l y .

R e f i t t i n g t h e w h e e l
- After positioning the wheel, lightly
p r e - t i g h t e n t h e b o l t s u s i n g t h e
wheelbrace.
-
C o m p r e s s t h e j a c k a n d r e l e a s e i t .
- F u l l y t i g h t e n t h e b o l t s u s i n g t h e wheelbrace.
- Replace the trim, starting at the valve passage hole, and press it
o n u s i n g t h e p a l m o f t h e h a n d . Replacing the wheel in the
carrier
- Replace the chock
2 in the
wheel.
- Replace the wheel in the carrier.
- Lift the wheel then the carrier and reposition the hook.
- D o n o t f o r g e t t o f u l l y t i g h t e n t h e spare wheel carrier retaining
bolt.
- Stow the wheelbrace 1 and the
j a c k . A f t e r c h a n g i n g
the wheel
- Have the tightening of the bolts a n d t h e p r e s s u r e o f t h e s p a r e t y r e
checked as soon as possible by a
CITROËN dealer.
- H a v e t h e p u n c t u r e d t y r e r e p a i r e d and replace it on the vehicle as
soon as possible.

Fitting the spare wheel

ers do not come into contact with the
r i m . T h e s p a r e w h e e l i s s e c u r e d b y
the cone-shape of each bolt.
Fitting snow tyres
