- Press the "MODE" button; the hour display starts to flash.
- Press the"+" button to turn the hour forward .
- Press the"-" button to turn the hour back.
Setting the minute
- Press the "MODE" button repeatedly until the minute
display starts to flash.
- Press the"+" button to turn the minutes forward.
- Press the"-" button to turn the minutes back.
Setting the date (day, month and year)
-Press the "MODE" button often until the date display
starts to flash.
- Press the"+" button or the"-" button to set the day.
- Press the "MODE" button again; the month display starts to flash.
- Press the"+" or the" -" button to set the month.
- Press the "MODE" button again; the year display starts to
flash.
- Press the"+" or"-" button to set the year.
Switching off the date display
-Press the "MODE" button repeatedly until the complete
date display starts to flash.
- Press the" -" button; the date display switches off.
Switching on the date display
- Press the "MODE" button repeatedly until the complete
date display starts to flash.
- Press the"+" button; the date display will reappear.
When the date display stops flashing, this means the time and date
have been successfully stored .
When the ignition is switched off, the odometer reading and the
digital clock with date display can be switched on for a few seconds
by pressing the CHECK button =>

Driver information display
Engine oil pressure malfunction 9=7-
The red engine oil pressure warning symbol requires
immediate service or repair. Driving with a low-oil-pres­
sure indication is likely to inflict severe damage to the engine.
If the ~ symbol appears in the display and blinks, the oil
pressure is too low. An additional driver message can also
be displayed by pressing the [CHECK] button:
Switch off engine and check oil level
Immediate actions
- Pull off the road.
- Stop the vehicle.
Turn off the engine.
- Check the engine oil level with the dipstick=> page 254.
Dipstick readings checks too low
-Top off oil to the proper level => page 255 .
- Make sure that the oil pressure warning symbol
~
appears no longer in the display before you start driving
again.
Dipstick reading checks OK
- If the oil pressure warning symbol~ starts flashing
again even though the engine oil level checks
OK on the
dipstick,
do not continue driving and do not let the
engine run in idle.
Instead, contact your authorized Audi
dealer for assistance.
[ i ] Tips
• The engine oil pressure symbol 'l::::r. is not an indicator for a low
engine oil level. Do not rely on it. Instead, check the oil level in your
engine at regular intervals, preferably each time you refuel, and
always before going on a long trip .
• The yellow oil level warning indication -requires oil refill or
workshop service without delay. Do not wait until the red oil pres­
sure warning
'l::::r. starts to flash before you respond to the low oil
level warning . By then, your engine may already have suffered
serious damage. •

Using the rocker switch, you can select the menus in the display or
change settings. A cursor appears on the left in front of the selected
values .
By pressing the [Reset] button, you activate the selection you made
or confir m the values you set.

Tire pressure monitoring system

Each tire, including the spare (if provided), should be checked
month ly when cold and inflated to the inflat ion pressure recom­
mended by the vehicle manufacturer on the vehicle placard or tire
inf lation pressure label. ( If your vehicle has tires of a different size
than the size indicated on the vehicle placard or tire inflation pres ­
sure label, you should determine the proper tire inflation pressure
for those tires.)
As an added safety feature, your vehicle has been equipped with a
tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that illuminates a low tire

pressure telltale when one or more of your tires is significant ly
under -inflated. Accord ingly, when the low tire pressure tel ltale illu ­
minates, you shou ld stop and check your tires as soon as possible,
and inflate them to the proper pressure . Driving on a significan tly
under-inflated tire causes the tire to overheat and can lead to tire
failure . Under-inflation also reduces fuel efficiency and tire tread
life, and may affect the vehic le's handling and stopping ability .
Please note that the TPMS is not a substitute for proper tire mainte­
nance, and it is the driver's responsibility to maintain correct t ire
pressure, even if under -inflation has not reached the leve l to trigger
il lumination of the TPMS low tire pressure te lltale .
Your veh ic le has a lso been equipped w ith a TPMS malfunction indi­
cator to indicate when the system is not operating properly . The
TPMS malfunction indicator is combined with the low tire p ressure
telltale . When the system detects a malfunction, the telltale wil l
flash for approx imately one minute and then remain cont inuously
il luminated . This sequence will continue upon subsequent vehicle
start -ups as long as the malfu nction exists.
When the ma lfunction indicator is illuminated , the system may not
be able to detect or signal low tire pressure as intended. TPMS
malfunctions may occur for a variety of reasons , including the
insta llation of replacement or alternate tires or wheels on the
vehicle that prevent the TPMS from functioning prope rly . A lways
check the TPMS malfunction telltale after replacing one or more
tires or whee ls on your vehicle to ensure that the replacement or
alternate tires and wheels allow the TPMS to continue to function
p roper ly .•

Introduction
The tire pressure m onitoring system monit ors air pressure
in all four road wheels while t he vehicle is moving.
As soon as the tire pressure monitoring system senses a significant
loss of air pressure in one or seve ra l tires, text messages and yellow

- Keep the brake pedal depressed so that the vehic le
cannot ro ll forwa rd or backward while it is idling =>& .
- Once stopped,

The se lector lever must be in Nor P. If one of the driving positions
is engaged a safety switch w ill preven t the eng ine from being
started. See also=> page 120 .
Before you move the selector lever from the P position, you must
a lways apply the brake peda l before and wh ile de press ing the
button in the hand le of the selector lever.
& WARNING
• Unintended vehicle movement can cause serious injury .
- When the selector lever is in a driving position , the vehicle
may creep , even at idle speed . Therefore do not release the
parking brake or foot brake until you are ready to move,
because power is transmitted to the wheels as soon as a
driving position is engaged.
- Do not accelerate while selecting a driving position . At this
time the engine must be at idle speed so that undue stress is
not placed on the clutches in the transmission .
- Remember: -even when stopped briefly with the automatic
transmission in "D ", "S " or "R ", engine power is being trans­
mitted to the wheels. Your vehicle could "creep" forward or
ba ckward . When stopped , keep the brake pedal fully depressed
and use the parking brake if necessary to keep the vehicle from
rolling .
• If the selector lever is unintentionally moved into N while you
are driving , take your foot off the accelerator pedal and wait for
the engine to return to idle speed before selecting a driving posi ­
tion .
• Never shift into "R " or "P " when the vehicle is in motion .
• Never get out of the driver 's seat when the engine is running .
• If you must get out of the vehicle , move the selector lever
securely into the P pos ition and apply the parking brake firmly .
• If the engine must remain running , never have any dr iving posi ­
tion engaged when checking under the hood . Make sure the
selector lever has securely engaged and is locked in "P " with the

The transmiss ion selects the appropria te gear ra tio (upshifts and
downshiftsl automatically based on set driving programs
=> page 136.
You can a lso manually select a shift program (tiptronic®)

You should note, that the multit ronic transmission differs from a
conventional Automatic Transmission. In the multitronic transmis­
sion the engine power is transferred via a link -plate chain, rather
than by a conventional torque converter. The multitronic transmis ­
sion greatly reduces vehicle "creep"" when at a standstil l and the
transmission is in
D Sor R. •

Your vehicle is equipped with a starting assis t that a llows for easier
starting on inclines. The system is activated when the brake pedal is
depressed for a few sec onds. After releasing the brake pedal, the
brake power is he ld for a moment to prevent the vehicle from rol ling
back when starting .
The se lector lever must be in Nor
P. If one of the driv ing positions
is engaged a safety switch will prevent the eng ine from being
star ted. See also=>

• Never use the Homelink'"' transmitter with any garage door

the door to stop and reverse does not meet current federal safety standards . Using a garage door opener without these features
increases risk of serious injury or death .
