REMOTE CONTROL
Deadlocking
KEYS
Deadlocking renders the internal
and external door locking
controls inoperative. Never leave
anyone inside the vehicle when it is
deadlocked.
If the deadlocking is operated from
inside the vehicle, it will change to
normal locking when the vehicle is
started.
ACCESSES
Press the closed padlock to
lock the vehicle.
T h i s i s c o n fi r m e d b y fi x e d
lighting of the direction
indicators for approximately
two seconds.
Central locking
From the driver’s door or passenger
door, the keys allow you to lock,
deadlock or unlock the doors and
t a i l g a t e , a s w e l l a s f o l d b a c k t h e
exterior mirrors.
If one of the doors or the tailgate is open,
the central locking does not work.
The remote control performs the
same functions at a distance. The key allows you to switch on
the ignition and to mechanically
o p e r a t e t h e l o c k o n t h e f u e l fi l l e r c a p ,
t h e g l o v e b o x , t h e p a s s e n g e r a i r b a g
disarming switch and the mechanical
child lock.
Normal locking
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h
deadlocking,
a second
press on the closed padlock
w i t h i n fi v e s e c o n d s o f l o c k i n g
changes this to deadlocking.

Changing the remote control
battery
Battery ref.: CR1620/3 volts.
T h e i n f o r m a t i o n " b a t t e r y fl a t " i s g i v e n
b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l , a c c o m p a n i e d b y
a message on the multifunction display.
T o r e p l a c e t h e b a t t e r y , u n c l i p t h e
casing using a coin at the ring.
If the remote control does not work
a f t e r t h e b a t t e r y h a s b e e n c h a n g e d ,
re-programme the remote control.
Programming the remote
control
Following changing of the
r e m o t e c o n t r o l b a t t e r y o r
disconnection of the vehicle
b a t t e r y , t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l m a y
h a v e t o b e r e p r o g r a m m e d .
Do not discard the remote control
b a t t e r i e s , t h e y c o n t a i n m e t a l s w h i c h
are harmful to the environment.
Take them to a PEUGEOT dealer, or to
any other approved collection point. Wait at least one minute
b e f o r e u s i n g t h e r e m o t e
control.
Insert the key in the ignition
s w i t c h w i t h t h e b u t t o n s
(padlocks) of the remote control
facing you.
Switch on the ignition.
Press the locking padlock for at least
fi v e s e c o n d s w i t h i n t h e n e x t t e n
seconds.
Switch off the ignition.
W a i t a t l e a s t o n e m i n u t e b e f o r e u s i n g
the remote control.
The remote control is now working
again.

ELECTRONIC ENGINE
IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system as
s o o n a s t h e i g n i t i o n h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d
off and therefore prevents starting of
t h e v e h i c l e b y a n y o n e w h o d o e s n o t
have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
chip which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code
m u s t b e r e c o g n i s e d f o r s t a r t i n g t o b e
p o s s i b l e .
If the system does not function
c o r r e c t l y , t h e c e n t r a l l o c k i n g b u t t o n
indicator light, situated on the courtesy
l i g h t c o n s o l e , fl a s h e s r a p i d l y w h e n t h e
ignition is switched on (2nd notch).
In this case your vehicle will not start.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
a s p o s s i b l e .
Good practice If the keys are lost
A P E U G E O T d e a l e r w i l l b e a b l e
to retrieve the key code and the
transponder code to order a replacement
key if you show him your V5 registration
c e r t i fi c a t e a n d p e r s o n a l i d e n t i fi c a t i o n .
Key, remote control
Take care not to allow the key to come
into contact with grease, dust, rain or a
damp environment.
A h e a v y o b j e c t a t t a c h e d t o t h e k e y
(key ring, ...) weighing on the shaft
of the key in the switch may cause a
malfunction.
The high frequency remote control is
a sensitive system; do not operate it
while it is in your pocket as there is
a p o s s i b i l i t y t h a t i t m a y u n l o c k y o u r
v e h i c l e , w i t h o u t y o u b e i n g a w a r e o f i t .
D o n o t r e p e a t e d l y p r e s s t h e b u t t o n s o f
your remote control out of range and
out of sight of your vehicle. You run
the risk of stopping it from working and
t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l w o u l d h a v e t o b e
reprogrammed.
The remote control does not operate
when the key is in the ignition, even
when the ignition is switched off,
except for reprogramming.
D o n o t m a k e a n y m o d i fi c a t i o n s t o t h e
e l e c t r o n i c e n g i n e i m m o b i l i s e r s y s t e m . Safety
In the event of a serious impact the
doors are unlocked automatically
t o p e r m i t a c c e s s b y t h e e m e r g e n c y
services.
Remove the ignition key when you
leave the vehicle, even for a short time,
i f t h e r e a r e c h i l d r e n o n b o a r d .
Purchasing a second-hand vehicle
Ensure that you are given the anti-theft
s o c k e t f o r a l l o y w h e e l s ( r e m e m b e r t o
note the code engraved on the head of
the socket).
H a v e t h e k e y c o d e s m e m o r i s e d b y a
PEUGEOT dealer, to ensure that the
keys in your possession are the only
ones which can start the vehicle.

ALARM
I f fi t t e d o n y o u r v e h i c l e , t h i s p r o v i d e s
two types of protection:
- exterior protection: it sounds if a d o o r , t h e t a i l g a t e o r t h e b o n n e t i s
opened.
- interior protection: it sounds if the volume inside the passenger
c o m p a r t m e n t c h a n g e s ( b r e a k i n g o f
a window or a movement inside the
vehicle).
A red indicator light, located in the
centre of the fascia, indicates the
i n f o r m a t i o n d e t a i l e d b e l o w .
To lock your vehicle without setting the
alarm, insert the key in the lock then
lock the vehicle (e.g. for washing).
When the alarm is triggered, the siren
sounds and the direction indicator
l i g h t s fl a s h f o r t h i r t y s e c o n d s .
Warning - alarm triggered: the red indicator
l i g h t fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , i n s e r t t h e k e y a n d
switch on the ignition to switch it off.
W h e n t h e a l a r m h a s b e e n t r i g g e r e d t e n
times in succession (on the eleventh time)
the alarm is deactivated. Repeat the rules
for setting the alarm.
Close the sunroofs,
Switch off the ignition,
In the next ten seconds, press
b u t t o n A , located on the left-hand
side of the fascia, until the red
indicator light is on continuously,
Get out of the vehicle,
W i t h i n t h e n e x t fi v e m i n u t e s , s e t t h e
a l a r m b y l o c k i n g o r d e a d l o c k i n g u s i n g
the remote control (the red indicator
l i g h t fl a s h e s o n c e a s e c o n d ) .
D o n o t m a k e a n y m o d i fi c a t i o n s
to the alarm system as this could
cause faults.
Setting the alarm
Switch off the ignition and get out of
the vehicle.
S e t t h e a l a r m w i t h i n fi v e m i n u t e s o f
g e t t i n g o u t o f t h e v e h i c l e , b y l o c k i n g
or deadlocking using the remote
control (the red indicator light
fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d ) .
Disarming
Unlock the vehicle with the remote
control (the red indicator light goes out).
To set the alarm with exterior
protection only
If, while you are away from the vehicle,
you wish to leave a window partially
open or a pet inside the vehicle, you
should choose exterior protection only.
Incorrect operation
When the ignition is switched on, if the red
indicator light remains on for ten seconds,
there is a fault in the siren connection.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer to have the
system checked.
Automatic setting of the alarm
I f fi t t e d o n y o u r v e h i c l e , t h e a l a r m i s s e t
automatically 2 minutes after the last
door or the tailgate is closed.
To prevent triggering of the alarm when
a door or the tailgate is opened, it is
imperative to press the remote control
u n l o c k i n g b u t t o n a g a i n . W h e n t h e a l a r m i s s e t b u t t h e
remote control does not operate:
Unlock the doors with the key
and open the door. The alarm is
triggered.
Switch on the ignition in the
next ten seconds. The alarm is
disarmed.

DOORS
Automatic central locking
The doors can lock automatically when
you are driving (at a speed of more
than 6 mph (10 km/h)).
You can activate or deactivate this
function.
To deactivate
With the ignition on, press
and hold the padlock.
Deactivation of the function is
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
signal.
Opening the doors from outside Opening the doors
from inside
If the vehicle is locked or
deadlocked from the outside, the
r e d w a r n i n g l i g h t fl a s h e s a n d t h e
padlock does not function. In this case,
use the key or the remote control to
unlock from the outside.
The door opening switches do
not function when the vehicle is
deadlocked.
Locking/Unlocking from
the inside
Press the padlock, the red
warning light comes on when
the vehicle is locked and switches off
when it is unlocked.
This locks/unlocks the doors and the
tailgate.
To activate
With the ignition on, press
and hold the padlock.
Activation of the function is
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d
a message on the display .
"Door open" alert
If a door or the tailgate is not closed
properly:
- when the engine is running , you
a r e w a r n e d b y a g r a p h i c a n d a
message on the display for a few
seconds,
- when the vehicle is moving
( s p e e d a b o v e 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) ) ,
the service warning light comes on.
I t i s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
signal, a message and a graphic on
the display for a few seconds.
