SAFETY
For the airbags to be fully
effective, observe the following
safety rules:
Sit in a normal upright position.
Wear a correctly adjusted seat belt.
Do not leave anything between the
occupants and the airbags (a child,
pet, object...). This could hamper the
operation of the airbags or injure the
occupants. Front airbags
Do not drive holding the steering wheel by its spokes or resti
ng your hands on
the centre part of the wheel.
Passengers must not place their feet on the dashboard.
If possible, do not smoke as deployment of the airbags can cau se burns or the
risk of injury from a cigarette or pipe.
Never remove or pierce the steering wheel or hit it violently.

Steering column airbag *
Do not sit with your knees any nearer to the steering wheel
than necessary.
Lateral airbags
U s e o n l y a p p r o v e d c o v e r s o n t h e s e a t s . T h e s e w i l l n o t h i n d e r i n fl a t i o n o f t h e
lateral airbags. Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
D o n o t fi x o r a t t a c h a n y t h i n g t o t h e s e a t b a c k s ( c l o t h i n g . . . ) . T h i s c o u l d c a u s e
injury to the chest or arms if the lateral airbag is triggered.
Do not sit with the upper part of the body any nea rer to the door than necessary.
Curtain airbags
D o n o t fi x o r a t t a c h a n y t h i n g t o t h e r o o f . T h i s c o u l d c a u s e i n j u r y t o t h e h e a d i f
the curtain airbag is triggered.
Do not remove the grab handles installed on the roof, the y play a part in securing
the curtain airbags.
After an accident or if the vehicle has
been stolen or broken into, have the
airbag systems checked.
All work on the airbag system is strict-
ly forbidden unless it is carried out by
q u a l i fi e d p e r s o n n e l o f t h e P E U G E O T
dealer network.
Even if all of the precautions men-
tioned are observed, a risk of injury
or of minor burns to the head, chest
or arms when an airbag is triggered
c a n n o t b e r u l e d o u t . T h e b a g i n fl a t e s
almost instantly (within a few millisec-
o n d s ) t h e n d e fl a t e s w i t h i n t h e s a m e
time discharging the hot gas via open-
ings provided for this purpose.

When parking on a slope, direct
your wheels against the pavement,
apply the parking brake and engage
a gear.
PARKING BRAKE
Applying
Pull the parking brake lever fully up
to immobilise your vehicle. When the vehicle is being driven,
if this warning lamp and the
STOP
warning lamp come on, accom-
panied by an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction screen, this
indicates that the parking brake is still on
or has not been properly released.
Releasing
Pull the parking brake lever gently,
press the release button then lower
the lever fully.
6-SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX
As a safety precaution and to facili-
tate starting of the engine:
- always select neutral,
- press the clutch pedal.
Only engage reverse gear when
the vehicle is stationary with the
engine at idle.
Engaging reverse gear
Raise the ring under the knob and
push the gear lever to the left then
forwards.

With your foot on the brake, move
the lever upwards to select this posi-
tion.
N. Neutral.
With your foot on the brake, select
this position to start.
A. Automatic mode.
Move the lever downwards to select
this mode.
M +/-. Sequential mode with manual
changing of the gears.
Move the lever downwards then to
the left to select this mode, then:
- push the lever forwards to change up a gear,
- or pull the lever rearwards to change down a gear.
S. Sport function.
Press this button to activate or de-
activate this function. Steering mounted controls
+. Change up control paddle to the
right of the steering wheel.
Press the back of the "+" steering
wheel control paddle to change up a
gear.
-. Change down control paddle to the
left of the steering wheel.
Press the back of the "-" steer-
ing wheel control paddle to change
down a gear.
The steering wheel control paddles do not permit the selection of neutral
or engaging or disengaging reverse
gear.

comfort of fully automatic operation or
the pleasure of manual gear changing.
Three driving modes are offered:
-
automatic mode for automatic control
o f t h e g e a r s b y t h e g e a r b o x ,
- sequential mode for manual chang-
ing of the gears by the driver,
- auto sequential mode to overtake,
f o r e x a m p l e , r e m a i n i n g i n a u t o m a t i c
mode while using the functions of
the sequential mode.
A Sport function is available in auto-
matic or sequential mode for a more
dynamic style of driving.

Sequential mode
When the vehicle has moved off, se-
lect position M to change to sequential
mode.
AUTO disappears and the
gears engaged appear in suc-
cession on the instrument
panel screen.
The gear change requests are only car-
ried out if the engine speed permits.
It is not necessary to release the accel-
erator during gear changes.
When braking or slowing down, the
g e a r b o x c h a n g e s d o w n a u t o m a t i c a l l y t o
permit reacceleration of the vehicle in
the correct gear.
T h e g e a r b o x i s t h e n o p e r a t i n g i n a u t o -
active mode, without any action on the
part of the driver. It continuously selects
the most suitable gear in relation to the
following parameters:
- style of driving,
- p r o fi l e o f t h e r o a d .
AUTO and the gear engaged
appear on the instrument panel
screen.
Automatic mode
Following use of the sequential
mode, select position A to return to
the automatic mode. "Auto sequential mode"
This mode enables you to overtake, for
e x a m p l e , r e m a i n i n g i n a u t o m a t i c m o d e
while using the functions of the sequen-
tial mode.
Operate steering wheel control pad-
dle + or - .
T h e g e a r b o x e n g a g e s t h e g e a r r e q u e s t -
ed if the engine speed permits. AUTO is
still displayed on the instrument panel.
After a few moments without any action
o n t h e c o n t r o l s , t h e g e a r b o x r e s u m e s
automatic control of the gears.
At very low speed, if reverse gear
is requested, this will only be taken
into account when the vehicle is
immobilised. The
Foot on brake
w a r n i n g l a m p m a y fl a s h o n t h e i n -
strument panel to prompt you to
brake.
At high speed, if reverse gear is re-
quested, the N indicator lamp will
fl a s h a n d t h e g e a r b o x w i l l c h a n g e
to neutral automatically. To engage
a gear again, return the lever to po-
sition A or M .
O n s h a r p a c c e l e r a t i o n , t h e g e a r b o x will not change up unless the driver
acts on the gear lever or the steering
mounted controls.
Never select neutral N while the
vehicle is moving.
Only engage reverse gear R when
the vehicle is immobilised with the
brake pedal pressed. F o r o p t i m u m a c c e l e r a t i o n , f o r e x a m -
ple when overtaking another vehicle,
p r e s s t h e a c c e l e r a t o r p e d a l fi r m l y
past the point of resistance.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
This repair kit is available from
PEUGEOT dealers.
It is designed to repair most punc-
tures which could affect the tyre, lo-
cated on the tyre tread or shoulder.
Avoid removing any foreign bodies
which have penetrated the tyre.
TEMPORARY PUNCTURE REPAIR KIT
The kit is stowed in the boot below the
fl o o r . I t i s fi t t e d i n t h e t o o l b o x , l o c a t e d
below the storage compartment. Using the kit
This procedure, comprising several
steps, must be carried out in full.
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the selector A to the "SEALANT"
position.
Check that the switch B is in
position "0" .
Connect the white pipe C to the
valve of the tyre to be repaired.
Connect the compressor's electric
plug to the vehicle's 12 V socket.

to remind you that a wheel is in
temporary use.
Start the vehicle and leave the
engine running.
Access to the kit
Complete system consisting of a com-
pressor and an incorporated sealant
cartridge which permits

pair of the tyre so that you can drive to
the nearest garage.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION If after around 5 to 7 minutes the
pressure is not attained, this indi-
cates that the tyre is not repairable;
contact a PEUGEOT dealer for as-
sistance.
Switch on the compressor by moving
the switch B to position "1" until the
tyre pressure reaches 2.0 bars.
Remove the kit, taking care to avoid
to avoid staining your vehicle with
t r a c e s o f fl u i d . K e e p t h e k i t t o h a n d .
D r i v e i m m e d i a t e l y f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y
t h r e e m i l e s ( fi v e k i l o m e t r e s ) , a t
reduced speed (between 15 and
3 5 m p h [ 2 0 a n d 6 0 k m / h ] ) , t o p l u g
the puncture.
Stop to check the repair and the tyre
pressure using the kit.
Turn the selector A to the AIR
position.
Connect the black pipe D to the
valve of the wheel. You can use this kit for the routine
check and adjustment of the tyre
pressures on your vehicle. It can
a l s o b e u s e d t o i n fl a t e o t h e r i t e m s
such as a ball or bicycle tyre.
To do this, turn the selector to the
"AIR" position, connect the black
pipe with the appropriate adapter
t o t h e i t e m t o b e i n fl a t e d , t h e n f o l -
low the remainder of the procedure
below until the kit is removed.

it out of reach of children.
T h e e x p i r y d a t e o f t h e fl u i d i s i n d i -
cated on the cartridge.
The sealant cartridge is designed
for single use; even if only partly
used, it must be replaced.
To remove the cartridge, unscrew it
completely at its cap and pull off.
After use, do not discard the car-
tridge into the environment, take
it to an authorised waste disposal
site or a PEUGEOT dealer.
Do not forget to obtain a new
sealant cartridge, available from
PEUGEOT dealers.
Connect the compressor's electric
plug to the vehicle's 12 V socket.
Start the vehicle again and leave the
engine running.
Adjust the pressure using the
c o m p r e s s o r ( t o i n fl a t e : s w i t c h B in
position "1" ; t o d e fl a t e : s w i t c h B in
position "0" and press button E ) , i n
accordance with the vehicle's tyre
pressure label (located on the left
h a n d d o o r a p e r t u r e ) .
A loss of pressure indicates that the puncture has not been fully plugged;
contact a PEUGEOT dealer for
assistance.
Remove and stow the kit.
Drive at reduced speed (50 mph
[ 8 0 k m / h ] m a x ) l i m i t i n g t h e d i s t a n c e
t r a v e l l e d t o a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 2 0 m i l e s
( 2 0 0 k m ) .
Go to a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.
Have the tyre inspected by a technician, who can then advise
you whether it can be repaired
or should be replaced.

m a x i m u m d i a m e t e r o f 6 m m , o n l y
where located on the tyre tread or
shoulder. Avoid removing any for-

the tyre.

pressor and a bottle of sealant which per-
mits temporary repair of the tyre so that
you can drive to the nearest garage.
The kit is stowed in the boot storage
tray. Using the kit
Switch off the ignition.
Tick the wheel to be repaired on the
speed limitation sticker enclosed
t h e n a f fi x t h e s t i c k e r t o t h e v e h i c l e ' s
steering wheel to remind you that a
wheel is in temporary use.
Clip the bottle 1 on the compressor 2 .
Check that the switch A is tilted to
position "0" .
Connect the pipe of the bottle 1 to
the valve of the tyre to be repaired.
Unwind the pipe of the compressor

fully, then connect it to the bottle.
Connect the compressor's electric
plug to the vehicle's 12 V socket.
Start the vehicle and leave the
engine running.
