Engine

is faulty. This light should switch off when the
engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
fl a s h i n g . The engine management
system is faulty, there is a risk
of destruction of the catalytic
converter. You must stop immediately where it is
safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low fuel level fi x e d w i t h t h e n e e d l e
in the red zone. The fuel tank contains
approximately 5 litres.
Depending on your style of driving and
your engine, you have enough fuel left to
drive approximately 30 miles (50 km).
Fill your fuel tank as soon as possible.
Capacity approximately
60 litres.
Never continue to drive until you run out
of fuel, this could damage the emission
control and injection systems.
Coolant
temperature fi x e d w i t h t h e n e e d l e
in the red zone. The temperature of the
cooling system is too high.
You must stop immediately where it is
safe to do so.
Wait until the engine has cooled down
before topping up the level, if necessary.
If the problem persists, park, switch off
the ignition and call a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil pressure fi x e d . The engine lubrication circuit
is faulty.
You must stop immediately where it is
safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery charge fi x e d . The battery charging circuit
is faulty (dirty or loose
terminals, slack or cut
alternator belt, ...).
This light should switch off when the
engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.

The key cannot be removed
from the lock until the cap is
put back on the tank.
Opening the cap may trigger a vacu-
um. This is demonstrated by a noise
which is caused by the sealing of the
fuel circuit.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres. T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
it is essential that the engine is
switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
W h e n fi l l i n g i s c o m p l e t e :
put the cap back in place,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue
after the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Operating fault
A fuel gauge malfunction is indicated by
the return of the fuel level indicator nee-
dle to zero.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Filling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fl a p
reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used according to your engine.
More than 5 litres of fuel must be add-
ed in order to be registered by the fuel
gauge.
When the fuel tank minimum level
is reached (approximately 5 litres),
this warning light comes on on the
instrument panel, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction display.
You have enough fuel left to drive
approximately 30 miles (50 km).
If you run out of fuel (Diesel),
refer to the "Checks - § Run-
ning out of fuel" section also.

Coolant temperature indicator
With the engine running, when the nee-
dle is:
- in zone A , the temperature is correct,
- in zone B , the temperature is too
high; the max temperature warning
lamp 1 and the central STOP warn-
ing lamp come on, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction screen. After driving for a few minutes, the tem-
perature and pressure in the cooling
system increase.
To top up the level:
wait for the engine to cool,
unscrew the cap by two turns to
allow the pressure to drop,
when the pressure has dropped,
remove the cap,
top up the level to the "MAX" mark.
You MUST stop as soon as it is safe
to do so.
Wait a few minutes before switching off
the engine.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
and/or

temporarily with lighting of the service warning lamp
and the message "Risk of p a r t i c l e fi l t e r b l o c k i n g " This indicates that the
p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r i s
starting to become saturated. As soon as driving conditions allow,
r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a
speed of at least 35 mph (60 km/h) until
the service warning lamp switches off.

Have the reservoir topped up as soon as
