Programming Operating faults
If there is an operating fault, when reverse gear is engaged this warning lamp comes on on the instrument panel, accompanied by an audible signal (shor t beep) and a message on the multifunction screen.
You can activate or deactivate the system by means of the multifunction screen configuration menu. The system state is memorised when switching off the ignition. For more information on access to the parking assistance menu, refer to vehicle configuration in the "Multifunction screens" section corresponding to your screen.
The system will be deactivated automatically when towing a trailer or when a bicycle carrier is fitted (vehicle fitted with a towbar or bicycle carrier recommended by CITROËN).
In bad or wintry weather, ensure that the sensors are not covered with mud, frost or snow.

Brake pads
Brake wear depends on the style of driving, par ticularly in the case of vehicles used in town, over shor t distances. It may be necessary to have the condition of the brakes checked, even between vehicle ser vices. Unless there is a leak in the circuit, a drop in the brake fluid level indicates that the brake pads are worn.
The gearbox does not require any maintenance (no oil change). Refer to the Warranty and Maintenance Record for the details of the level checking inter val for this component.

If a loss of effectiveness of this system is noticed, the parking brake must be checked, even between two ser vices. This system must be checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Only use products recommended by CITROËN or products of equivalent
quality and specifications. In order to optimise the operation of units as impor tant as the braking
system, CITROËN selects and offers very specific products. To avoid damaging the electrical units, the use of a high pressure washer
in the engine compar tment is strictly prohibited .
The gearbox does not require any maintenance (no oil change).

175Practical information
 Adjust the pressure using the compressor (to inflate: switch B in position "1" ; to deflate: switch B in position "0" and press button E ), in accordance with the vehicle's tyre pressure label (located on the left hand door aper ture). A loss of pressure indicates that the
puncture has not been fully plugged; contact a CITROËN dealer for assistance.  Remove and stow the kit.
 Drive at reduced speed (50 mph [80 km/h] max) limiting the distance travelled to approximately 120 miles (200 km).
 Visit a CITROËN dealer as soon as
possible to have the tyre repaired or replaced by a technician.
Take care, this product is harmful (e.g. ethylene-glycol, colophony, ethanediol...) if swallowed and causes
irritation to the eyes. Keep it out of reach of children. The expiry date of the fluid is indicated on the car tridge. The sealant car tridge is designed for single use; even if only par tly used, it must be replaced. To remove the car tridge, unscrew it completely at its cap and pull off. After use, do not discard the car tridge into the environment, take it to an authorised waste disposal site or a CITROËN dealer. Do not forget to obtain a new sealant car tridge, available from CITROËN dealers.

The spare wheel is installed in the boot under the floor. According to country, you will have either a "space saver" spare wheel or a temporary puncture repair kit. For access to it, refer to the paragraph "Access to the tools" on the previous page.
Access to the spare wheel
Fitting the "space-saver" type spare wheel
If your vehicle is fitted with alloy wheels, it is normal to notice, when tightening the bolts on fitting, that the washers do not come into contact with the "space-saver" type spare wheel. The wheel is secured by the conical contact of each bolt.
Taking out the wheel
 Unscrew the yellow central bolt.  Raise the spare wheel towards you from
the rear.  Take the wheel out of the boot.

Putting the wheel back in place
 Put the box back in place in the centre of the wheel and clip it.  Put the polystyrene storage box back in place.  Refit the boot floor carpet by lightly folding it in the middle (refer to the section "Fittings - § Storage box").
 Put the wheel back in its housing.  Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a few turns then place it in the centre of the wheel.  Tighten fully until the central bolt clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
On vehicles equipped with a "space-saver" type spare wheel, the punctured wheel can be stowed in place of the "space-saver" wheel; however the boot
floor will not then be flat.

Changing main beam headlamp bulbs
 Remove the protective cover by pulling on
the tab.  Disconnect the bulb connector.  Spread the springs to release the bulb.  Remove the bulb and change it. To refit, carry out these operations in reverse order.
Changing sidelamp bulbs
 Remove the protective cover by pulling on the tab.
 Pull the bulb holder pressing on the tabs on both sides.  Pull the bulb and change it. To refit, carry out these operations in reverse order.
Changing integrated direction indicator side repeaters
 Inser t a screwdriver towards the centre of
the repeater between the repeater and the base of the door mirror.  Tilt the screwdriver to extract the repeater and remove it.  Disconnect the repeater connector.  Replace the module. To refit, carry out these operations in reverse order.
Contact a CITROËN dealer to obtain a
replacement side repeater module.

Rear lamps
Amber or red bulbs, such as those for the direction indicators and rear foglamp, must be replaced by bulbs of the same rating and colour.
Changing bulbs
 Open the boot.  Remove the access flap from the corresponding side trim panel.  Unscrew the butter fly nut securing the lamp unit.  Unclip the lamp unit connector.  Extract the lamp unit carefully pulling in its middle towards the outside.
 Spread the four tabs and remove the bulb holder.  Turn the bulb a quar ter of a turn and change it. To refit, carry out these operations in reverse order. Take care to engage the lamp unit in its guides, while keeping it in line with the vehicle.

Towing the vehicle
Procedure for having your vehicle towed or for towing another vehicle using a removable towing eye.
The towing eye is installed in the boot under the floor. To gain access to it:  open the boot,  raise the floor,  remove the polystyrene storage box,  remove the towing eye from the holder.
 On the front bumper, unclip the cover by pressing at the bottom.  Screw the towing eye in fully.  Install the towing bar.  Switch on the hazard warning lamps on the towed vehicle.  Place the gear lever in neutral (position Nfor an automatic gearbox).
 On the rear bumper, unclip the cover by pressing at the bottom.  Screw the towing eye in fully.  Install the towing bar.  Switch on the hazard warning lamps on the towed vehicle.

Failure to obser ve this special condition could result in damage to cer tain braking components and the absence of braking assistance the next time the engine is star ted.
When towing with all four wheels on the ground, always use a towing bar. When towing with only two wheels on the ground, always use professional lifting equipment. When towing with the engine off, there is no longer any assistance for braking or steering.
