ACCESS Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, this code must
be recognised in order for starting to be
possible. In the event of a malfunc-
tion, you are informed by
lighting of this warning
lamp, an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
screen.
In this case, your vehicle does not start;
contact a CITROËN dealer as soon as
possible.

- Position 1: Stop
- Position 2: Ignition
- Position 3: Starting
Locating your vehicle
Press the closed padlock
to locate your locked vehi-
cle in a car park.
This is indicated by lighting of the cour-
t e s y l a m p s a n d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n
indicators for a few seconds.
Folding the key
First press button A to fold the key.
Deadlocking using the key
Turn the key to the right in the driv-
er’s door lock to lock the vehicle
completely.
Turn the key to the right again within
fi v e s e c o n d s t o d e a d l o c k t h e v e h i c l e . This electronic engine immobiliser locks
the engine management system a few
minutes after the ignition is switched off
and prevents starting of the engine by
anyone who does not have the key.
Deadlocking using the remote
control
Press the closed padlock to
lock the vehicle completely.
Press the closed padlock again
w i t h i n fi v e s e c o n d s t o d e a d l o c k t h e
vehicle.
Deadlocking renders the exterior
and interior door controls inop-
erative.
It also deactivates the manual
central control button.
Therefore, never leave anyone
inside the vehicle when it is
deadlocked.

ing of the direction indicators for approxi-
mately two seconds.
According to version, the exterior mir-
rors fold at the same time.

CHECKS
Diesel additive level
(Diesel engine with particle
emission filter)
A low additive level is indicated by light-
ing of the service warning lamp, accom-
panied by an audible warning and a
message on the multifunction screen.
Topping up
This additive must be topped up by a
CITROËN dealer without delay.
Used products Avoid prolonged contact of used
o i l o r fl u i d s w i t h t h e s k i n .
M o s t o f t h e s e fl u i d s a r e h a r m f u l t o
health or indeed very corrosive.
D o n o t d i s c a r d u s e d o i l o r fl u i d s
into sewers or onto the ground.
Take used oil to a CITROËN
dealer (France) or an authorised
waste disposal site. CHECKS
Unless otherwise indicated, check
these components in accordance with
the Maintenance and Warranty Guide
and according to your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a
CITROËN dealer.
B a t t e r y The battery does not require
any maintenance.
H o w e v e r , c h e c k t h a t t h e t e r -
minals are clean and correctly
tightened, particularly in sum-
mer and winter.
When carrying out work on the battery,
refer to the "Practical information" sec-
tion for details of the precautions to be
taken before disconnecting the battery
and following its reconnection.
Air filter and passenger
compartment filter Refer to the Maintenance and
Warranty Guide for details of
the replacement intervals for
these components.
Depending on the environment
(e.g. dusty atmosphere) and the use of
the vehicle (e.g. city driving), replace
t h e m t w i c e a s o f t e n i f n e c e s s a r y (re-
fer to the "Engines" paragraph).
A c l o g g e d c a b i n fi l t e r m a y h a v e a n a d -
verse effect on the performance of the
air conditioning system and generate
undesirable odours. Oil filter
R e p l a c e t h e o i l fi l t e r e a c h t i m e
the engine oil is changed.

the replacement interval for

Particle emission filter (Diesel)
It is imperative that the maintenance of
t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r i s c a r r i e d o u t
by a CITROËN dealer.
Following prolonged operation of
the vehicle at very low speed or
at idle, you may, in exceptional
circumstances, notice the emis-
sion of water vapour at the ex-
haust on acceleration. This does
not affect the behaviour of the
vehicle or the environment.
