Personalisation of the Exterior
air intake/Interior air recirculation
function
This function is controlled automati-
c a l l y . H o w e v e r , y o u c a n d e a c t i v a t e i t s
automatic control if you wish to change
t h e a i r i n t a k e m o d e a t a n y t i m e . The settings are retained, even after
s w i t c h i n g o f f t h e i g n i t i o n .
Changing the status
Press the Air intake/Interior air recircu-
l a t i o n b u t t o n f o r a t l e a s t 1 0 s e c o n d s .
When the status changes from active to
i n a c t i v e , t h r e e b l e e p s a r e h e a r d a n d t h e
i n d i c a t o r l i g h t fl a s h e s t h r e e t i m e s .
When the status changes from inactive

Diesel additive level (Diesel with particle emission filter)
The minimum level of this additive is indi-
cated by lighting of the service warning light,
accompanied by an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction display.
Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is topped
up by a CITROËN dealer without delay.
Used products

Check the electrolyte level
regularly. If necessary, top up
the level with distilled water.
Check that the terminals are
clean and correctly tightened,
particularly in summer and
winter.
When carrying out work on the battery,
refer to the "Practical information" sec-
tion for details of the precautions to be
taken before disconnecting the battery
and following its reconnection.
Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Refer to the servicing booklet
for details of the replacement
intervals for these compo-
nents.
Depending on the environ-
ment (dusty atmosphere...) and the use
of the vehicle (city driving...), replace
them twice as often if necessary (refer
to the "Engines" paragraph).
A c l o g g e d p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l -
ter may have an adverse effect on the
performance of the air conditioning sys-
tem and generate undesirable odours.
Oil filter
R e p l a c e t h e o i l fi l t e r e a c h t i m e
the engine oil is changed.
Refer to the servicing booklet
for details of the replacement
interval for this component.
Particle emission filter (Diesel)
It is imperative that the maintenance of
t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r i s c a r r i e d o u t
by a CITROËN dealer.
Following prolonged operation of
the vehicle at very low speed or at
idle, you may, exceptionally, notice
the emission of water vapour at the
exhaust on acceleration. This does
not have any adverse effect on the
performance of the vehicle or on the
environment.
Avoid any prolonged contact of
u s e d o i l o r fl u i d s w i t h t h e s k i n .
M o s t o f t h e s e fl u i d s a r e h a r m f u l t o
health or indeed very corrosive.
D o n o t d i s c a r d u s e d o i l o r fl u i d s
into sewers or onto the ground.
Empty used oil into the contain-
ers provided for this purpose in the
CITROËN network. D o n o t d i s c a r d t h e o i l fi l t e r t h r o u g h
public channels, deposit it in the
containers dedicated to this use
in the CITROËN network.
Unless otherwise indicated, check
these components in accordance with
the servicing booklet and in relation to
your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a

Time and date, language, unit, picture size
E - Choose the size of the DVD picture for:
E1 - normal 4/3,
E2 - extends the picture evenly to the right and to the left in wide screen mode,
E3 - extends the right and left parts only leaving the centre as it stands in
wide screen mode,
E4 - enlarges the picture in 4/3 format. The top and the bottom are outside
the frame.
D - Choose the base settings of the sys-
tem for:
D1 - setting of the time by the RDS signal, time zone, summer time,
D2 - the language (English, Français, Deutsch, Nederlands, Portuguese,
Español, Svenska, Italiano, Dansk),
D3 - the units for calculation of the dis- tances (km or miles and °C or °F),
D4 - other settings such as:
- the voice guidance volume,
- the type of voice guidance voice (female or male),
- the volume of the operation bleeps ( 1 t o 3 a n d 0 = n o b l e e p ) ,
- the type of inputting keypad (alpha- bet or PC),
- the range of menu colours (red or blue),
- the displaying or not of the audio playing icons on the map screen,
- the reinitialisation of the vehicle sensor,
- the interruption or not of the display when the air conditioning is used.
