SEAT maintenance programme
8SEAT maintenance programmeGeneral informationThis maintenance programme will inform you of the w ork that should be
carried out regularly on your vehicle in order to ensure th e safety, reliability
and durability required.
Using the “vehicle id entification” data or the data in this document, will
ensure the correct spare parts for your vehicle are sp ecified in case of repairs,
for many years after the initial purchase.
We recommend that you keep this maintenance progr amme with the vehicle
documents. The record of inspections carried out is on e of the essential
requirements for exercising your rights under warranty.
The maintenance programme shows the date of deli very, and this indicates
the starting date of the vehicle warranty.Maintenance ProgrammeThe SEAT maintenance programme consists of the dif ferent inspection serv-
ices which are carried out according to the time since the vehicle purchase or
the mileage.
Each Inspection Service, as well as any additional oper ation required already
has a pre-established work time. This will allow you to know the total cost of
the service beforehand.
The SEAT Service Centre network is equipped with modern works hop tech-
nology and well-trained specialists. Many SEAT Service C entres offer different
service packages at special prices.
Adverse conditionsThe Service Centre “service advisor” will inform you o f any necessary addi-
tional work within the intervals defined by the Inspection S ervice, according
to the conditions and environment in which the vehicle i s used. For example,
an oil change where the vehicle is used only for frequent short journeys or is
subject to extreme temperatures. Likewi se, when the vehicle is used in dusty
conditions the air, dust and pollen filter cartridges must be changed more
often and the timing belt checked.Diesel fuelThe Service Centre “service advisor” can provide information about which
countries use fuel with a high sulphur content. In th ese cases, the oil must be
changed every 7,500 km (5,000 miles).

(FAME) standard is used then the fuel filter must be cl eaned every 15,000 km
(10,000 miles) and replaced every 30,000 km (20,000 mil es). Consult your

contract, A fault-free operation warranty of 2 years in acc ordance with legal
requirements

is provided from the date of delivery.
We hope that it is understood that natural wear as well as damage caused by
the abuse of vehicle performance through inappropri ate use or by unaccept-
able modifications are excluded from the warranty. The warranty is also
invalid when the vehicle is damaged by the use of part s and accessories that
are not SEAT approved or damage due to ignoring the maintenance and repair
requirements.
Paintwork and body warrantyAuthorised Service Centres provide a warranty on bodywork
and paintwork for vehicles sold in the EU.In addition to the warranty conditions for brand new S EAT vehicles (as
detailed in the purchase contract), a defined period warranty i s also provided
covering paintwork and bodywork rusting:•
3 year paintwork warranty following delivery date (ex cept the Alhambra
model).
•
12 years from the date of delivery against bodywork through-rusting (6
years for the Alhambra).
If, however, this type of damage should occur, it w ill be repaired free of charge
including parts and labour by any SEAT Authorised Service C entre in Europe.
Warranty claims will not be accepted in the following c ircumstances:
•
if damage is caused by external influence or carelessness , or
•
if damage to the body is not repaired promptly and appropriately in
accordance with the manufacturer's in structions using genuine, approved
spare parts and materials, or
•
if perforation rusting is caused by the use of non-genuine p arts and mate-

with the manufacturer's instructions.
If the bodywork is repaired or painted, your Authorised Service Centre will
certify your warranty against through-rusting for the r epaired sections.
Approved SEAT exchange partsThe approved SEAT exchange parts, conforming to the manufacturer’s
requirements, constitute an additional service at your dis posal, offering you
the possibility to update entire assemblies, the most co mmon being: the
short engine block, gearboxes, cylinder heads, control units, electrical
elements, etc.
Of course these are Approved parts and, as they have the same class as the
manufacturer parts, they share the same SEAT approved s pare parts warranty.
2)The warranty is not available for all export markets. For more information, please ask
your Authorised SEAT Service Centre.3)As well as the legally required warranty, SEAT o ffers an extended warranty to their cli-
