Example of maintenance according to time
However, there are different specific “additional jobs” depending on the
distance covered or the time passed since delivery. For example:•
Timing belt change (depending on the mileage).

Change of brake fluid (for the first time after 3 years or 125,000 miles,
then every two years).

Additional tasksIn addition to the Inspection Service, additional maintenance jobs may have
to be carried out, depending on the conditions in which your vehicle is used
and on the equipment carried. This additional work should be carried out in
accordance with time/distance travelled to ensure your vehicle remains reli-
able. Your Service Centre will provide detailed information about the addi-
tional work that may be necessary. This can be done independently of the
obligatory services, taking into account the notes on the Maintenance
Programme (or the label: Next service). Your SEAT Service Centre will be
happy to advise you and quote the prices for this additional work. Additional
jobs completed are marked on the workshop sheet with the receipt.Every 5,000 miles•
Engine oil and oil filter: Replace (only engines using high sulphur content
diesel fuel).
Every 20,000 miles•
Fuel filter: Replacement (only diesel engines using biodiesel, or using fuel
that does not comply with the DIN EN 590 standard)
•
Dust and pollen filter for the passenger compartment: Replace.
•
Manual gearbox: Check the oil level (only in the case of permeability).
Every 40,000 miles•
Air filter: Clean the housing and replace the filter element.
•
Spark plugs: Replace.
Every 60,000 miles•
Fuel filter: Replacement (only diesel engines using fuel complying with
the DIN EN 590 standard).
At 60,000 miles (the first time), then every 20,000 miles•
Timing belt for camshaft : Check condition and replace if necessary (only
petrol engines).
Every 80,000 miles•
Particulate filters Check (1.9 TDI engines).
•
Timing belt for camshaft: Replacement (TDI engines with unit injector).
