Check the condition and connection of the child safety lock switch connector.
If the connector is faulty and if there is a repair method (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical wiring,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector; otherwise, replace the wiring.
Check for + 12 V on connection BPT of component 135.
Check for + after ignition feed on connection AP43 of component 135.
If the connection(s) are faulty and there is a repair method (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
Check for earth on connection MAS of component 135.
If the connection is faulty and there is a repair method (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical wiring,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
Check the condition and connection of the UCH PE1 and PP2 connectors.
If the connector is faulty and if there is a repair method (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical wiring,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector; otherwise, replace the wiring.
Check the insulation and continuity of the following connection:
●Connection code 20AL,
between components 645 and 135.
If the connection is faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical wiring repair,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
Check the insulation and continuity of the following connection:
●Connection code AP43,
between components 645 and 1337.
If the connection is faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical wiring repair,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
Check the insulation and continuity of the following connection:
●Connection code 20BD,
between components 645 and 138.
If the connection is faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical wiring repair,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.
AFTER REPAIRCarry out another fault finding check on the system.
Clear the stored faults.
Deal with any other faults.

NOTESNo faults should be present or stored.
Check that configuration LC035 Child safety lock is WITH, if not perform configuration
using specific command SC016 Child safety lock (see Configurations and
programming). Status only visible if Vdiag 4C, 4D, 4F and 50 UCH.
Use Wiring Diagrams Technical Note for MEGANE II or SCENIC II.
IMPORTANT
After disconnecting the battery, there may be an inconsistency between a request on the switch and the status of
one or two lock(s).
In this case, deactivate and reactivate the switch until the warning light comes on when the switch is pressed.
Check the condition and connection of the lock connector (broken, bent, oxidised tabs).
If the connector is faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector; otherwise, replace the wiring.
Check the condition and connection of the PP2 connector of the UCH (tabs broken, bent, oxidised).
If the connector is faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector; otherwise, replace the wiring.
Check for earth on connection MZ of component 139 or on connection MAQ of component 138.
If the connector is faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector; otherwise, replace the wiring.
Check the insulation, continuity and the absence of interference resistance on the following connections:
●Connection code 87A between components 645 and 139.
●Connection code 87B between components 645 and 138.
If the connection or connections are faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical
wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
Replace the faulty lock.
If the fault is still present, contact Techline.
AFTER REPAIRCarry out another fault finding check on the system.
Clear the stored faults.
Deal with any other faults.

ET230 is Inactive but the child safety lock switch has been pressed.
Verify that ET233 Childproof lock switch is Pressed.
If Inactive, refer to interpretation of ET233.
If Press, check using configuration reading LC035 Childproof locks that the UCH is correctly configured as
WITH childproof locks.
If WITHOUT, configuration WITH child safety lock is carried out with special command SC016 Child safety lock
(V4C, V4D, V4F and V50).
If WITH, check that all the doors are correctly closed, using the following statuses:
ET053: Driver's door
ET042: Passenger door
ET051: Rear left-hand door
ET052: Rear right-hand door
If the fault is still present, contact Techline.
AFTER REPAIRCarry out another fault finding check on the system.
Clear the stored faults.

Check for an earth on connection MAM of component 135.
If the connector is faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector; otherwise, replace the wiring.
Check the insulation, continuity and the absence of interference resistance on the following connection:
●Connection code 20AL between components 645 and 135.
If the connection is faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical wiring repair,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
Check the insulation between connections 20AL and MAM of component 135 (Released position).
Check the continuity between connections 20AL and MAM of component 135 (Pressed position).
Replace the switch if necessary.
