For safety reasons and because they require prolong ed attention on
the part of the driver, the operations for matching of the Bluetooth
mobile telephone with the RD4 hands-free kit must b e carried out
with the vehicle stationary and the ignition on.
Select the accessory which corresponds to the
n a m e o f t h e v e h i c l e , a s u p e r i m p o s e d c o n i g u r a t i o n
display appears on the multifunction display. Activate the telephone’s Bluetooth function and
carry out a search of the Bluetooth accessories
present for the telephone.
Select the YES tab on the display using
t h e b u t t o n s t h e n c o n i r m b y p r e s s i n g O K .
Enter the vehicle’s authentication code (=1234).
Depending on the telephone, you may be asked
to enter this code before the superimposed

event of a malfunction (speed greater
than approx.15 mph [25 km/h]) or
puncture.
An outline representing one or more
w h e e l s l a s h i n g i n d i c a t e s t h e l o c a t i o n
of the wheel or wheels concerned.Flat tyre
The SERVICE warning light
comes on, accompanied
by the message "Tyre(s)
d e l a t e d " , an outline on the display,
and an audible signal.
Check the tyre pressure as soon as
possible. If the damaged tyre is temporarily
stored in the boot, it will again emit
this message to remind you of the
necessity of having it repaired. This will
prevent another warning of the same
type being displayed.
Sensor(s)
not detected
The SERVICE warning light
comes on, accompanied
by the message "X tyre pressure
sensor(s) missing" , an outline on the
display and an audible signal.
U n d e r - i n l a t i o n d e t e c t i o n i s a b s e n t
from one (or several) tyre(s). Consult a
PEUGEOT dealer to replace the faulty
sensor(s). This message is also displayed
when one of the tyres is away
from the vehicle (being repaired)
or when a wheel without a sensor is
i t t e d .
All repairs and changing of
t y r e s o n a w h e e l i t t e d w i t h t h i s
system must be carried out by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n l a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system is a driving aid which does
not take the place of vigilance or the
responsibility of the driver.
This system does not remove the
need to have the tyre pressure
checked regularly (including the spare
wheel), to ensure that the dynamic
performance of the vehicle remains at
its best and to avoid premature wear
of the tyres, in particular in the case
of arduous driving (heavy load, high
speed).
The system may temporarily be
disturbed by radio broadcasts on a
frequency close to it.
Puncture
The STOP warning light
comes on, accompanied
by the message
"Punctured tyre(s)" , an outline on the
display and an audible signal.
Stop immediately, avoiding any sudden
movement of the steering wheel and
the brakes.
Change the damaged (punctured or
v e r y d e l a t e d ) t y r e , a n d h a v e t h e t y r e
pressure checked as soon as possible.

section of chapter 8.

have the characteristic of offering low
consumption and minimising emissions

2. In addition to this contribution,
these engines provide a highly
acclaimed level of driving pleasure. - observe the service intervals;
we recommend that services are
carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer
authorised to collect used batteries
a n d l u i d s ,
- in order to preserve the reliability of the engine and emission control
system, do not use engine oil
additives.

These regular maintenance
operations will keep your vehicle
in good running order. Consult the
instructions at PEUGEOT dealerships,
on the Service Box site or in the
servicing booklet enclosed in the
handbook pack. To maintain the reliability of engines
and emission control systems, the use
of additives in engine oil is prohibited.
Oil change
It is imperative that this is carried out at
t h e i n t e r v a l s s p e c i i e d a n d t h e v i s c o s i t y
g r a d e o f t h e o i l s e l e c t e d m u s t f u l i l t h e
requirements in accordance with the
manufacturer’s servicing schedule.
Consult the instructions at PEUGEOT
dealerships or on the Service Box site.
R e m o v e t h e d i p s t i c k b e f o r e i l l i n g .
C h e c k t h e l e v e l a f t e r i l l i n g ( n e v e r
exceed the max mark).
Screw the cap back onto the sump
before closing the bonnet.
LEVELS
I f y o u h a v e t o r e m o v e / r e i t t h e
engine style cover, handle it with
c a r e t o a v o i d d a m a g i n g t h e i x i n g
clips.
Dipstick There are two marks
on the dipstick:
A = maximum
I f y o u i l l p a s t t h i s
mark, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
B = minimum
Never allow the level
to fall below this
mark. Warning lights
Oil level
Check the level regularly and top up
between changes. The maximum
consumption is 0.5 litre per 600 miles
(1 000 km).
Check the level with the vehicle level,
engine cold, using the dipstick.
Viscosity selection
In all cases, the oil selected must meet
the manufacturer’s requirements. Checking by means of the
warning lights on the instrument
panel is described in chapter 2,
"Instruments and controls" section.
Changing the brake fluid
T h e b r a k e l u i d m u s t b e c h a n g e d a t
the intervals stated, according to the
manufacturer’s servicing schedule.

standards.
The level must be between the MIN
and MAX marks on the reservoir.
I f l u i d h a s t o b e a d d e d f r e q u e n t l y ,
this indicates a failure which must be
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.

Cooling system
O n l y u s e t h e l u i d r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
manufacturer.
Otherwise, you risk seriously damaging
your engine.
When the engine is warm, the
temperature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan can
operate with the ignition key removed
and because the cooling system is
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
carrying out any work.
Slacken the cap by 1/4 of a turn to
release the pressure to prevent any
risk of scalding. When the pressure
has dropped, remove the cap and top
up the level with coolant.
I f l u i d h a s t o b e a d d e d f r e q u e n t l y ,
this indicates a failure which must be
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.Power steering fluid level
The vehicle must be parked on level
ground with the engine cold. Unscrew
the cap integrated with the gauge and
check the level which must be between
the MIN and MAX marks.
During regeneration of the particle
e m i s s i o n i l t e r , r e l a y n o i s e m a y b e
heard under the fascia.
If the message is still displayed and
the service warning light remains on,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Diesel additive level (Diesel with
particle emission filter) The minimum level of this
additive is indicated by
lighting of the service warning
light, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message
on the display.
When this occurs with the engine running,
this is due to the start of saturation of
t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n i l t e r ( e x c e p t i o n a l l y
prolonged urban driving conditions: low
s p e e d , l o n g t r a f i c j a m s , . . . ) .
I n o r d e r t o r e g e n e r a t e t h e i l t e r , y o u
are advised to drive at a speed of
more than 40 mph (60 km/h) as soon
a s p o s s i b l e , w h e n t r a f i c c o n d i t i o n s
p e r m i t , f o r a t l e a s t i v e m i n u t e s ( u n t i l
the message disappears and the
service warning light is switched off).
Topping up
The level must be between the MIN
and MAX marks on the expansion
b o t t l e . I f m o r e t h a n 1 l i t r e o f l u i d i s
required to top up the level, have
the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer. Windscreen wash and headlamp
wash level
For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we would advise that you use
products of the PEUGEOT Universal
range.
To avoid ice forming, do not use water.
Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is
topped up by a PEUGEOT dealer
without delay.
Used oil
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil
with the skin.
B r a k e l u i d i s h a r m f u l t o h e a l t h a n d
very corrosive.
Do not dispose of used oil, brake
l u i d o r c o o l a n t i n t o d r a i n s o r o n t o
the ground but into the containers
dedicated to this use at PEUGEOT
dealerships.
