CHANGING A WHEEL
Park the vehicle on level, stable
and non-slippery ground.
Apply the handbrake, switch off the
i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t o r r e v e r s e
gear (position P for the automatic
gearbox).
Weight of the spare wheel: approxi-
mately 20 kg. Never go underneath a ve-
hicle which is supported only
by a jack.

Recommendations when using the
temporary spare wheel *
Your vehicle may be equipped with a
spare wheel with a different rim from
the standard wheel.
After use, be sure to replace it as soon
as possible.
Observe the following advice to avoid
altering the handling of the vehicle:
- do not drive above 50 mph (80 km/h),
- d o n o t fi t a w h e e l t r i m ,
- drive carefully,
- c h e c k t h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e i n d i -cated on the label.

After changing the wheel:
- have the tightening of the bolts and the tyre pressure of the spare wheel
checked as soon as possible.

have the punctured wheel repaired and
r e fi t i t t o t h e v e h i c l e a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e .
- have the spare wheel checked and replace it in its boot recess.
Fitting a wheel
Position the wheel.
Tighten the bolts by hand.
Partly tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .
Fold the jack 2 and remove it.
Fully tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .

Put the tool holder back in position.

correct position, to prevent any defor-
m a t i o n o f t h e fl o o r w h e n l o a d e d .
Tighten the spare wheel securing
strap to prevent noise and for your
safety in the event of impact.
Reminder: for your safety, always
change a wheel:
- on level, stable, non-slippery ground,
- with the handbrake applied,
- w i t h fi r s t o r r e v e r s e g e a r e n g a g e d ( p o - sition P for the automatic gearbox),
- never go underneath a vehicle which is supported only by a jack.
Tools available
The following tools are located in
the holder in the centre of the spare
wheel:
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim and removal of the wheel securing
bolts.
2. Jack with integrated handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. Removable towing eye.
See corresponding section.
4. Bolt cover tool. Permits removal of
the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy
wheels. Removal
For vehicles with alloy wheels,
remove the covers using tool 4 .
Loosen the wheel bolts.
Place the jack 2 in one of the four
locations underneath the vehicle
(the nearest one to the wheel to be
changed).
Extend the jack 2 until its base is in
contact with the ground.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the
wheel.

1. Direction indicators: W 16W.
2. Fog lamps: P21 W.
3. Reversing lights: P21 W.
4. Brake lights/side lights: P21/5 W.
Fold down the panel to gain ac-
cess to the light.
U n s c r e w t h e 2 l i g h t fi x i n g n u t s i n -
side the boot.
Disconnect the connector.
Pull the light towards the outside.
Unscrew the bulb holder sleeve a
quarter of a turn.
Unscrew the faulty bulb and
change it.
Screw in the bulb holder sleeve a
quarter of a turn.
Put the light back in place from the
outside.
Reconnect the connector.

sure that the light is positioned and
fi x e d c o r r e c t l y .
Number plate lights: W 5 W.
Remove the transparent cover us-
ing a screwdriver.
Change the faulty bulb.
Third brake light: diodes.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer for re-
placement.

CHANGING A FUSE
The fuse boxes are placed in the lower
part of the fascia (driver's side), in the
engine compartment (left-hand side)
and in the left boot trim.
Fascia fuses
To access the fuses, open the cover
of the storage compartment on the
driver's side. Tilt the fuse box down-
wards.
Replacing a fuse
Before replacing a fuse, the cause of
the incident must be found and recti-
fi e d . T h e f u s e n u m b e r s a r e i n d i c a t e d
on the fuse box. Always replace a faulty fuse
with a fuse of the same rating
(same colour). Use the special pliers located on the
support next to the fuse box, this sup-
port also contains the replacement
fuses.

In all cases, pay attention to the coolant
temperature.
Brakes: towing increases the braking
distance. Drive at a moderate speed,
change down early and brake gradually.
Side wind: sensitivity to side wind is
increased. Drive smoothly and at a
moderate speed. TOWING A TRAILER, CARAVAN, BOAT, ETC...
We recommend the use of original
PEUGEOT towbars which have been
tested and approved from the design
stage of your vehicle and that the tow-
b a r i s fi t t e d b y a P E U G E O T d e a l e r .
Driving advice
Distribution of loads: distribute the
load in the trailer so that the heavi-
est loads are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight is close
to the maximum authorised without,
however, exceeding it.
Cooling: towing a trailer on a slope in-
creases the coolant temperature.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
Note: in certain cases of par-
ticularly arduous use (towing
the maximum load in high
temperatures), the engine au-
tomatically limits its power and selects
the appropriate automatic gearbox
gear in manual mode. In this case,
cutting off the air conditioning allows
the engine power to be recovered, and
therefore the towing capacity to be in-
creased.
If the coolant temperature
warning light comes on, stop
the vehicle and switch off the
engine as soon as possible.
Tyres: check the tyre pressures of the
towing vehicle (label on the central
door pillar on the driver's side) and of
the trailer towed, observing the recom-
mended pressure.
