MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAYS
A few definitions…
When the range falls below 20 miles
( 3 0 k m ) , d a s h e s a r e d i s p l a y e d . A f t e r fi l l -
ing with at least 5 litres of fuel, the range
is recalculated and is displayed when it
e x c e e d s 6 0 m i l e s ( 1 0 0 k m ) .
If dashes are displayed continu-
ously while driving in place of the
digits, contact a PEUGEOT dealer. This function is only displayed from
20 mph (30 km/h).

This indicates the distance
which can still be travelled

This is the average quantity of
fuel consumed during the last
few seconds.
Average consumption
(l/100 km or km/l or mpg)
This is the average quantity
of fuel consumed since the
last trip computer zero reset. Average speed

This is the average speed
calculated since the last trip
computer zero reset (igni-
tion on).
Distance travelled
(km or miles)
This indicates the distance trav-
elled since the last trip computer
zero reset. Distance remaining to
destination
(km or miles)
This is the distance remaining
t o b e t r a v e l l e d t o t h e fi n a l d e s t i n a t i o n . I t
is either calculated instantly by the navi-
gation system, if guidance is activated,
or entered by the user.
If the distance is not entered, dashes
are displayed in place of the digits.

De-icing - Demisting
To quickly de-ice or demist the wind-
screen and side windows:
place the air intake control 4 in the
" E x t e r i o r a i r i n t a k e " p o s i t i o n ,
place the air distribution dial 3 in the
"Windscreen position",
place the temperature 1 a n d a i r fl o w
2 d i a l s a t m a x i m u m ,
close the central vents, The control button is located on
the heating or air conditioning
system control panel.
REAR SCREEN DE-ICING
Switch off the de-icing of the
r e a r s c r e e n a n d e x t e r i o r m i r -
rors as soon as you consider
this necessary as lower current
consumption results in reduced
fuel consumption.
If the engine is switched off before
the de-icing is switched off auto-
m a t i c a l l y , d e - i c i n g w i l l r e s u m e n e x t
time the engine is switched on.
Switching on
The rear screen de-icing can only
operate when the engine is running.
Press this button to de-ice the rear
s c r e e n a n d t h e e x t e r i o r m i r r o r s . T h e
indicator light associated with the
button comes on.
Switching off
The de-icing switches off automatically
t o p r e v e n t a n e x c e s s i v e c o n s u m p t i o n o f
current.
It is possible to stop the de-icing
operation before it is switched off
automatically by pressing the button
again. The indicator light associated
with the button switches off.
5. Air conditioning On/Off
The air conditioning is de-
signed to operate effectively in
all seasons, with the windows
closed.
It enables you to:
- lower the temperature, in summer,
- increase the effectiveness of the de- misting in winter, above 0 °C.
Switching on
Press the "A/C" button, the associated
indicator light comes on.
The air conditioning does not op-
e r a t e w h e n t h e a i r fl o w a d j u s t m e n t
control 2 is in position "0".
Switching off
Press the "A/C" button again, the as-
sociated indicator light switches off.

ACCESS
The key cannot be removed from
the lock until the cap is put back on
the tank.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres.
T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
it is essential that the engine is
switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
W h e n fi l l i n g i s c o m p l e t e :
put the cap back in place,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue af-
ter the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Filling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fl a p
reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used according to your engine.
Operating fault
A fuel gauge malfunction is indicated by
the return of the fuel level indicator nee-
dle to zero.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. When the fuel tank minimum
level is reached, this warning
light comes on on the instru-
ment panel, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
You have enough fuel left to drive ap-
proximately 30 miles (50 km).
If you run out of fuel, refer to the "Practi-
cal information" section also.

CHECKS
RUNNING OUT OF FUEL (DIESEL)
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a n H D I e n -
gine, the fuel circuit must be reprimed if
you run out of fuel.
This system consists of a repriming
pump, a transparent pipe and a degas
screw under the bonnet (refer to the
corresponding graphic).
1.6 litre Turbo HDI 16V engine
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i -
tres of diesel.
Open the bonnet.
Unclip the style cover to gain access
to the repriming pump.
Squeeze and release the repriming
pump until fuel appears in the trans-
parent pipe with the green connec-
tor.
Operate the starter until the engine
starts.
Put the style cover back in position
and clip it in place.
Close the bonnet. 2 litre Turbo HDI 16V engine
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i -
tres of diesel.
Open the bonnet.
Unclip the style cover to gain access
to the repriming pump.
Slacken the degas screw.
Squeeze and release the repriming
pump until fuel appears in the trans-
parent pipe with the green connec-
tor.
Retighten the degas screw.
Operate the starter until the engine
starts.
Put the style cover back in position
and clip it in place.
Close the bonnet.
If the engine does not start at the
fi r s t a t t e m p t , d o n o t t r y a g a i n .
Operate the repriming pump again,
then the starter. If the engine does not start at the
fi r s t a t t e m p t , d o n o t t r y a g a i n .

Engine compartment fuses

Access to the fuses
Unclip the cover.
Change the fuse (see correspond-
ing paragraph).
