MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAYS
Access to the retractable screen
Opening the screen
With the screen stored, press
control A to open it.
T h e s c r e e n o p e n s a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n
the ignition is switched on, when the
a u d i o a n d t e l e m a t i c s s y s t e m i s s w i t c h e d
on, when an outgoing telephone call is
made, when a voice command is given
and when a warning message linked
with the STOP warning light is received.
This screen is opened and stored auto-
m a t i c a l l y .
H o w e v e r , y o u c a n a l s o o p e n i t , s t o r e i t
a n d a d j u s t i t u s i n g t h e v a r i o u s m a n u a l
controls:
- o p e n i n g o r s t o r i n g b y m e a n s o f
control A ,

protection. Closing the screen
With the screen open, press con-
trol A to store it.
T h e s c r e e n i s s t o r e d a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n
the ignition is switched off, after approxi-
m a t e l y t h r e e s e c o n d s , i f t h e a u d i o a n d
t e l e m a t i c s s y s t e m i s o f f .
I f y o u w i s h t h e s c r e e n t o o p e n o r
c l o s e a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n t h e a u d i o
a n d t e l e m a t i c s s y s t e m i s s w i t c h e d
on or off, the screen must not be
closed when the audio and telema-
t i c s s y s t e m i s o p e r a t i n g . W h e n t h e s c r e e n i s o p e n , y o u c a n
a d j u s t i t p r e c i s e l y i n d i f f e r e n t w a y s :
press the corresponding part of con-
trol B to move the screen towards
y o u o r t o w a r d s t h e w i n d s c r e e n ,
or
p u s h o r p u l l t h e s c r e e n g e n t l y b y
hand.
Adjusting the position of the screen
S a f e t y a u t o - r e v e r s e
If the screen meets an obstacle as it
opens or closes, the movement stops
i m m e d i a t e l y a n d i s r e v e r s e d b y a f e w
millimetres.
After clearing the obstacle, issue the
command required again. Storing the position of the screen
T h e s y s t e m h a s f o u r p r e - s e t p o s i t i o n s
i n i t s m e m o r y .
Each time the screen is closed, the
s y s t e m s t o r e s t h e l a s t p o s i t i o n o f t h e
screen.
Each time the screen is re-opened, the
s y s t e m r e t u r n s t h e s c r e e n t o t h e p r e - s e t
position closest to that stored.
I f y o u c l o s e t h e s c r e e n d u r i n g o p e r a -
t i o n o f t h e a u d i o a n d t e l e m a t i c s s y s -
t e m , i t w i l l o n l y r e - o p e n a u t o m a t i c a l l y
when an outgoing telephone call is
made, when a voice command is
given or when a warning message
linked with the STOP warning light is
received.

COMFORT
The air conditioning system does
not contain chlorine and does not
present any danger to the ozone
layer. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING
In order for these systems to be fully effective, follow the operation and main-
tenance rules below:
If the interior temperature remains very high after the vehicle has been
parked in the sun for a considerable time, do not hesitate t o ventilate the
passenger compartment for a few minutes.
P l a c e t h e a i r fl o w c o n t r o l a t a s u f fi c i e n t l e v e l t o p r o v i d e a n a d e q u a t e
renewal of air in the passenger compartment.
To obtain an even air distribution, take care not to obst ruct the exterior air
intake grilles located at the base of the windscreen, the n ozzles, the vents
and the air outlets, as well as the air extractor located in the boot.
Do not cover the sunshine sensor, located on the fascia; th is is used for
regulation of the air conditioning system.
Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, on ce or twice a
month to keep it in perfect working order.
E n s u r e t h a t t h e p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r i s i n g o o d c o n d i t i o n a n d
h a v e t h e fi l t e r e l e m e n t s r e p l a c e d r e g u l a r l y ( r e f e r t o t h e " C h e c k s " s e c t i o n ) .
W e r e c o m m e n d t h e u s e o f a c o m b i n e d p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r .
T h a n k s t o i t s s e c o n d s p e c i a l a c t i v e fi l t e r , i t c o n t r i b u t e s t o t h e p u r i fi c a t i o n
of the air breathed by the occupants and the cleanness of th e passenger
compartment (reduction of allergic symptoms, bad odours and greasy
deposits).
To guarantee correct operation of the air conditioning syste m, you are also
advised to have it checked regularly.
If the system does not produce cold air, do not use it and contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.

heaters improves comfort.
When towing the maximum load on a steep gradient in high temperatures,
switching off the air conditioning permits the recovery of engi ne power and
therefore improvement of the towing capacity.
The condensation created by the air conditioning results in a discharge of
water under the vehicle which is perfectly normal.

Pull the windstop forwards to release
the guides from the points, located
behind each corner of the back of the
rear bench seat.
Fold the windstop frame guides. Storing

Raise the boot carpet and hook its
handle on the boot seal.
Store the folded windstop in the
corresponding recess in the box.
Lower the boot carpet.

Stow the folded windstop securing it
using the luggage retaining net.
Fold the windstop closing the
two large parts on themselves.
Unclip each end individually.
Fold each of the two parts on them-
selves.

ACCESS
Key reminder
If the key is left in the ignition switch,
an audible signal sounds when the
driver's door is opened.
Starting the vehicle
Insert the key in the ignition switch.
The system recognises the starting code.
Turn the key fully towards the fascia
to position 3 (Starting) .
When the engine starts, release the
key.
Switching the vehicle off
Immobilise the vehicle.
Turn the key fully towards you to
position 1 (Stop) .
Remove the key from the ignition switch.
Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the vehicle
battery, replacement of the remote control
battery or in the event of a remote control
malfunction, you can no longer unlock,
lock or locate your vehicle.
First of all, use the key in the lock to
unlock or lock your vehicle.
Then, reinitialise the remote control.
If the problem persists, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible. Changing the battery
Battery ref.: CR 1620/3 volts.
Reinitialisation
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the key to position 2 (Ignition) .
Press the closed padlock immediately
for a few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remove
the key from the ignition switch.
The remote control is fully operational
again.
Unclip the casing using a coin at the
notch.

Slide the new battery into its location
observing the original direction.
Clip the casing.
Reinitialise the remote control.
This replacement battery is available
from PEUGEOT dealers.

light, an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction
display.

Windscreen and headlamp
wash
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk
towards you. The windscreen wash
then the windscreen wipers operate
f o r a fi x e d p e r i o d .
If the dipped headlamps are on, the
headlamp washers operate at the same
time.
Screenwash/headlamp wash low
I n t h e c a s e o f v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h
headlamp washers, when the
minimum level of the reservoir is
reached, this warning light and/
or the service warning light is displayed
on the instrument panel, accompanied
by an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction display.

headlamp wash reservoir.
The warning light is displayed when the
ignition is switched on, or every time the
s t a l k i s o p e r a t e d , u n t i l t h e r e s e r v o i r i s fi l l e d .
Automatic windscreen wiping
The windscreen wipers operate auto-
matically, without any action on the part
of the driver, if rain is detected (sensor
b e h i n d t h e i n t e r i o r m i r r o r ) , a d a p t i n g t h e i r
speed to the intensity of the rainfall.
Activation
This is controlled manually by the driver
by pushing lever A to the "AUTO" posi-
tion.
It is accompanied by a message on the
multifunction display.
Do not cover the rain sensor, cou-
pled with the brightness sensor and
located in the centre of the wind-
screen behind the interior mirror.
Switch off the automatic wiping
when using an automatic car wash.
In winter, it is advisable to wait until
the windscreen is completely clear
of ice before activating the auto-
matic wiping. The automatic wiping must be
reactivated if the ignition has been
off for more than one minute, by
pushing lever
A downwards.
Switching off
This is controlled manually by the driver
by moving lever A upwards and returning
it to position "0" .
It is accompanied by a message on the
multifunction display. Operating fault
If an automatic wiping malfunction
occurs, the wipers will operate in inter-
mittent mode.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

LAYOUT
Hooked onto the stowing rings, this ena-
bles you to secure your luggage.
Luggage retaining net
Raise the boot carpet to gain access
to the storage box.
Hook the boot carpet on the boot
seal using its handle.
This has areas for storing the windstop
and two warning triangles.
By removing this box you gain access
to the puncture repair kit and the tools.

When the boot screen is unfolded,
check that the luggage:
- never raises it,
- is never placed on top of it.
The load space cover must always
be unfolded before a roof opening
manoeuvre is triggered (refer to the
"Familiarisation - § Opening" section).
